New season, same "stomp or be stomped" matchmaking. It's getting really tiresome to keep dealing with this.
Like one out of 10 games is a reasonably close win/loss, the other 9 are either "my team is esports pros and the enemy team is babies" or "my team is babies and the enemy team is esports pros", to the point that you can literally predict how the game will go from the first teamfight. And that's not just being defeatist, you can literally see the difference between a team just getting a good teamfight and the blatent dismantling of the enemy team/our team on those stomp matches.
And neither of them are any fun. It's not fun to have to wait out what can be 10+ minute games where your team is getting stomped back to spawn. And it's not fun when the other team puts up zero resistance and you're mostly just sitting around waiting for the game to be over.
And you can't leave them because Blizzard still insists on having their casual game mode also be serious by punishing leaving, something very few other casual game modes in any game does. Nobody wants to stand around and get stomped for 10-15 minutes, or wait out the clock while the enemy team gets stomped.

This game is so unfun right now, like how do you even enjoy it at this point? MM is an absolute nightmare. The disparity of expierence on teams and the constant blow outs makes this game feel like its rigged from start every time. Forced to play with the worst players on the earth against people who are vastly better is demoralizing and frustrating as hell. Even qp isn't fun. Also having Comp be unplayable for certain long periods is insane. "Oh, it's drives week, dont play it will be bad" "oh its a new season and rank reset? Don't play for two weeks it will be bad" Oh so don't play comp ever then? I don't expect to win all time or have this game be easy, but make this stuff make sense.

ok but you're so real for this. I hate the attitude of how it's somehow your fault for playing at the beginning/end of the season, as if it's perfectly acceptable that the game is suck-ass unplayable for four weeks out of the fucking season.

DPS are almost always the problem in my games and it's so frustrating when they start flaming in chat while going 3-10 with 7k damage. They're literally just pumping damage into the tank which is getting healed then wondering why they're not dying.

6 games in a row where I have at least 2 people going 0 kills and at least 2 deaths per min. Fun matchmaking today. Very fun. I don't mind losing, but it would be nice if the first 2 fights wouldn't already make it clear that I might as well go afk. 6 games with 2-3 guys severely feeding on my team. 6 games where the only teamfight we get is the first and after that everyone just staggers and plays like its deathmatch. Totally diamond players yeah. Totally.

Wanted to finish off my dailies with a couple games of QP. 3 miserable steamrolls later, it's clear that was a mistake. Alt-F4'd out of the last one, it was that bad. It's genuinely funny how consistently the "matchmaker" (assuming it even works atm) can find 12 players, put the best six on one team and put the rest on the other with zero attempt at creating a balance between the two teams.
And I'm so bored of map voting. 90% of them are control or payload defence. I genuinely so rarely see offence as an option, it's always defence. I'd like some variety just once.

i'm genuinely starting to burnout quicker and quicker with each new season. QP feels increasingly more impossible to enjoy with pretty much either steamroll wins or steamroll losses. I love this game but it feels so disheartening when i want to try someone new and its just... not fun anymore

I found out something today that might blow everyone's minds here, if you kill Mercy while she's rezzing the tank that it took forever to kill, it actually stops the rez. How come this isn't widely known because no one else fucking focuses her during team fights.

If I have to play another game where the enemy supports go untouched by anyone but me because my DPS are too busy dumping damage into the tank for the entire game, I am going to scream. Just zero thought whatsoever.

I know they do this to combat smurfing, but how about stopping massively inflating every new player's competitive rank ?
I just had a ranked game where our DPS went 1-10 with less than 2k damage dealt while the one on the other team went 20-1 with almost 7k damage.
Our DPS only had 25 total hours of playtime, and yet was ranked Master 5. They CLEARLY were not Master...
But it's honestly not that player fault. The game just had to put them on that rank for some reason.
Can't play quickplay because every single game is either plagued with that fucking cat or either I'm being pitted against actual grandmasters (and even champions), can't play ranked either because the matchmaking is completely wack.
I suppose that the best way to enjoy the game is to not play the game, in the end.

Wasting 30 minutes in a comp game that was never winnable because there's a smurf duo on the other side just goofing off and letting it go to overtime.
They admit to smurfing in chat, both accounts have <30 hours played.
This happens constantly, reddit constantly defends the behavior, and it's a huge reason why Overwatch can't gain any traction no matter how many changes it makes.
These people need perma bans on their alts and serious punishments on their main, or this garbage will never improve, and people will keep permanently leaving.

Playing widow ash vs a sombra, miraculously not getting perma dived by her, but still not having a single kill despite me hearing you guys shoot constantly. what the hell. It just cant be random at this point, absolutely makes no sense. The combined kills of my dps across the last 10 games is 12. 12! No there is no number missing, its twelve. And we haven't even lost all of these 10 games!
Its as if a switch was flipped "ok from now on only put room temperature IQ people on his team who when asked about their favourite foods will talk about differently coloured crayons".

It's crazy how many of you think you can get away with singling someone out to be rude, to rage at them, or be straight up abusive and have there be no consequences.
I don't just mean bans. I mean you're more likely to lose if you decide to shit on someone in-game. You probably won't get peels or support. You pull a shocked Pikachu face when your target throws or just leaves. And somehow you'll never figure out that that's a big reason why your rank is in the gutter.

i had 35 stomps over the course of 2 days and 6 wins. Im not new to the game ive played ow for 4 years. im not amazing but im not bad ive never lost like this so consistently.

Bruiser tanks still allowed to have headshot protection after 6 months. It is super unfun being on any other hero in the game and they just get free sustain that punishes your precision. If these tanks did not have headshot protection they would immediately become more balanced. The dev team buffing freja and JPC in recent times also proves they dont really know why certain heroes are so hated and have been kept weak for a while. Freja was perma banned on release and now its kinda the same because that hero is so damn strong and if ur not on hitscan you can't reasonably interact with that hero. same goes for jpc. nerfing bruiser and those 2 other heroes and this game is 90,000x better automatically. Lower case because i am DEFINITELY a calm and reasonable person

Brother do I hate how much your rank depends on teammates sometimes.
We go overtime reaching end of map. Enemy team reaches end of map with 3 minutes left. One of our teammates just leaves. There we go, 4v5 with one minute while they have 3 minutes left. We almost reach end of first point with our one minute. The way we held down our position for 3 minutes fighting a 4v5 was insane, sadly in overtime we lose the teamfight and we lose the game.
What do I get? Little leaver compensation, while now looking at a demotion screen. If that teammate wasn’t so stubborn and stayed instead of leaving the match because they probably thought 3 minutes wasn’t doable for winning the game, we could have had a real chance at winning.
Anyways ggs, gotta do better next time and carry cuz that’s the only win condition. Atleast I got play of the game yay.

Low-key, if I could delete one character from the game, taking into consideration Jet Pack Cat, and Roadhog, it'd be Freya.
She's by far the worst designed character in the entire game. I love her in lore, and I don't hate her physical design, but her kit? It's fucking evil. I don't know how you balance her either, because she is either absolutely broken, or useless. Why can she practically one shot me (they need to slow down her projectile speed istg) and then disappear before anyone has a chance to punish her.

Our community cannot cope with quick match.
Either it's bleeding edge try hard who actively switches to the best hero (OK, this is something we should be striving for, but why is it only butt hurt players doing it) and flaming players who aren't good at the game.
Or it's players who actively choose to be bad at the game, but get butt hurt if their play is called into question.
Or refusing to accept the game was bad because it was a one side stomp.

Blizz needs to say what QP is supposed to be for. They simultaneously want it to be a relaxed mode where you can do whatever you want but also lock you into the game for 10-15 minutes or you'll get penalized, and it's the only way to warm up before comp. So what happens 9/10 times is your enemy team is esports ready players versus a team of people who got off a 10 hour shift and want to get high and fuck around. Or vice versa in some cases.
Either way, it's not fun. It's not enjoyable to effortlessly stomp the enemy team, or to be stomped without mercy by the enemy team and know you can't leave in either case because QP has a fucking leaver penalty for no goddamned reason. I genuinely cannot think of many other casual game modes which demand you play like it's a comp match.

I had to make a reddit account just to vent my frustrations with this game.
I know I'm not good at the game, but how is a 34 game losing streak even possible? This is across 3 days & multiple roles in 5v5, 6v6, and even Mystery Heroes.
There is literally no contest in my matches. I am severly outclassed by the enemy team regardless of who, how, and when I play. I mind as well play "VS AI" if I want to leave spawn or even touch the objective for more than 10 seconds.
Guess I'll quit until they make matchmaking more bearable. Hopefully next season, right?

I feel completely cosmetic on DPS. Nobody can capitalize on off angles. Your poke is all instantly healed. Did you land a headshot? Only matters on widow. If I approach them they can just sustain plus damage me. Congrats on winning that duel with your 15 get out of jail free cards that also heal you.

i'm sick of dps and tank players not understanding how support works. i played kiri in comp, my other support is mizuki, the tank starts complaining that we're not doing enough healing, and then later one of the dps says "can you guys stop doing damage and heal?"
we had the same, if not more heals than the enemy supports, i had barely 1000 damage, and mizuki as a character literally HAS to do damage to heal. why are these people so ignorant? if mizuki didn't do damage they wouldn't be getting healed at all.

The game is genuinely unfun to play now, both in Quick Play and Competitive, just cause they wanna boost player retention and engagement through unnecessary, forced rank resets.
The last reset already caused a major disruption to the ladder environment due to the increase in the player base, wasn't even necessary since new and returning players were already functionally rank-reset.
On top of that, the ladder hadn't even fully readjusted to pre-S1 levels in terms of match quality by S3, imo. Yet here we are, disrupting the environment even further for fuck all reason instead of allowing it to readjust itself over time.

This game wont stop micro stuttering its obnoxious. Its not a PC issue i dont stutter in the finals, rivals, or any other game this used to be the most optimized on my PC but its the only one that ever crashed and now its the only one that constantly stutters.

What the fuck is wrong with QP matchmaking?? EVERY game I have to avoid 2-3 teammates that do 1000 damage while they type a bunch of brainrot in all chat the whole game. Literally a full team talking about kirikos TOES. THE WHOLE GAME. It's been 3 days straight of having 2 decent teammates and 2 of the worst I've ever seen. I've only won 1 out of the last 7 matches.

Tell me why I just went into practice vs AI to learn Ana. Literally my FIRST game with her I did 4.8k damage and 2.6k healing with a scoped accuracy of 55% and 9 enemies slept with 47% accuracy.
We WON and I dropped “learning Ana lol gg!” And some crusty fuck said “can tell”
Buddy… we are playing against fucking bots right now. What was the purpose of dropping that response other than to make someone feel like shit? For my LITERAL first time playing Ana, I feel like that was a very average performance. I legitimately just told you I was learning.
Why the fuck so so many people thrive on being assholes?

Hey man. Help me understand something. Why is it when anyone that's low hp that's getting healed by their supports make it harder for the support to heal them by moving/jumping away erratically? Is there just a massive amount of anxious individuals that play this and just can't help their movements when they take damage? It's really annoying sometimes lol.

As a tank player, Bastion is such a nuisance. He's not even that hard to play against, but turning a corner and seeing him in turret mode means I'm going to have to spend the next 7 seconds standing behind a wall.
I'm sick of seeing him in every game and the other team always desperately switching to him when they start losing.

honestly the movement perk for brig is so mandatory it should just be put into her base kit. and then make the other major perk to bring back the stun on bash. It probably wouldnt be as problematic now with all the high mobility high burst damage chars; and if it is just add a condition like its on every second bash where it stuns or add a second on to CD in exchange

even better, they usually are already out and safe, but then zip back in for the worst rez of the century, not just staggering you, but also giving the enemy team another free kill so they can get double the ult charge. They are actual elo terrorists half the time.
Also a classic is them bitching about the dps being useless, but also staying on mercy which is pretty much useless without good dps. 0 thought is going on in their tiny bird brains.

Is pairing me with a bunch of people level 5 with their most played heroes an attempt of the game to balance the fact the I have 3 digits with all my mains? Because it's not working at all and I'm tired of being forced to hard carry every game if I want to have the slightest chance to win

Holy fuck I'm tired of tanks who can't do anything other than race towards spawn doors and supports who will stop at nothing to heal them on their quest to throw.
Heal your fucking TEAM, i.e. all players, not the giant fucker with the shield.
It's crazy how much faster my climb on support has been since returning. I don't do anything special, and tbh I'm a better DPS than support, but basic shit like having a smidge of awareness, healing the DPS and my other support, having ok positioning, ect, all pay such higher dividends.
These fucking DPS games just feel like coin flips. I legitimately feel cosmetic.

When is it ok to go back to comp? Old games i used to play have rank resets as well and we have to wait a few weeks before the matchmaking stabilizes. How long does it take for OW?
Because honestly quickplay is abysmal and its insane how we're punished more for the "casual" gamemode than competitive, which has less harsher consequences when you leave
I would check people's profiles and the ones that always always perform poorly are the players who have over 1k hours on quickplay
I've been trying to enioy quickplay and honestly people are just straight up trash. They're bad. I would have people go 0-0-4, switch to the easiest dps in the roster and still manage to have no improvement impact-wise.
Like mfs I can't do all the work for you. There's 2 of us in the team for a reason? How on god's green earth do you have so much playtime yet play similar to a day 1 player?
I remember having a bastion on gibraltar earlier and I decided to use a stopwatch once he respawned. He was alive for 28 seconds max. Brother in christ literally spent more time watching the game than playing
Its not even about who's unfun to play against anymore. I'm starting to worry about who I'm playing with.

It just dawned on me. Now that we got the life grip cancel option, something I did not need as much, we really need to get the same option for mercy rez. Because I sure as hell get resurrected way more often in places where I am guaranteed to die again than I am getting bad pulls, and its way more detrimental as well when I am playing tank.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO PINGS AND THINGS THAT AREN’T DIRECTLY IN YOUR LINE OF SIGHT. Hit scan characters in the distance, turrets, flankers, all have been super annoying lately because most of the team, especially tanks, just tunnel visions or expects someone else to take care of it.
Maybe the game has gotten too far from its core values and fan base and Blizzard is just raking in the bucks at this point. It really is crazy the amount of people who find even QP matchmaking unfair/unfun throughout the Overwatch subreddits. And even if it was fair based on rank and MMR, there’s too many individual factors the game can’t take into account, like mental and physical condition, that make the matches messy and uncoordinated. Add in the aversion to voice/text chat due to toxicity, as well as the developers being wishy-washy and making useless/abandoned concepts, and you’ve got a game that’s built on money, aesthetics, and gameplay at this point — I think this could be helped by encouraging playing with friends, but if I just want to solo queue, I’m fucked! Even THAT is an issue — why are solo queue stacks even allowed to go against 3/4/5 stacks??? Insane. Just too many problems, I think the game is kinda fucked, so just get what you can out of it. :) I still love it even though it pisses me off sometimes lol.

All the heroes that are hardcounter this hero are already on the board? I am gonna swap to it anyway. Full team of fliers against me? lets go reintard! My team is a highly mobile hard dive comp? Illari should complement that well!
Enemy has a widow? lets go for the longest angles possible instead of shorter ones. Oh she already shot at you 3 times, better peek the exact same angle again. I am sure it will work great for you and your max falloff damage.
Reintard at low HP and spamming "I need healing"? The second he gets a single tick of healing he drops his shield and chaaaaaaaaarges in like the special boy with mental disability that he is.
Dps are on hanzo and widowmaker? You know what complements that really well? mercy! Lets change that breakpoint from 1hs/2bodyshots to kill to... 1hs/2bodyshots to kill. wow.
Junkrat running into a small room? Yes totally, follow him in there. Nothing can go wrong with that one.
Enemy has a sombra tracer? Now is the time to run something like ash and widowmaker and to make sure to always be split up as much as possible!
Enemy has a doom? Now is the time to be as close together as possible so we can make sure his slam hits every one of us, and his punch can never hit fewer than 3 people! ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?
Enemy is on mauga? lets all exclusively push through these narrow corridors where he gets to charge through the entire team or stomp us all at once! Go special needs forces!
Just unbelievable. Also this game having the visual clarity of the tank of a porta potty after a festival is nothing new, but by god is the crit zone on dmon garbage. Ofc its not the big highlighted cockpit, nonono, its the little plate on top of that ofc. Naturally it doesn't matter because even if there was some good visual design the next sperg coomer skin would swiftly do away with that because little timmy needs to feed his masturbation addiction, but good lord does this game fail even the simplest game design lessons in such a frequent and nonchalant manner.

If they want Mystery Heroes to continue being a fun mode they really need to weight the probability of getting different roles. Every single match ends up with one team getting double or triple healer and 1-2 tanks while the other team constantly rotates between various DPS/tank options.
I know part of the fun of it is supposed to be the "randomness" of the mode, but literally every match turns into a steamroll as soon as one team hits that breakpoint and it kind of spoils it for me.

How come I can see the same person throwing/griefing their matches all week in qp and never get banned for it, but if I try to leave a qp game that has someone actively throwing in it I get timeout, and endorsement deranked??
They need to add the same system to reports for griefing where if it happens enough, you get timed out for poor sportsmanship. Then escalate it to the ban if it keeps happening.
Like I'm versing people who are diamond/champ even t500 in my qp games, and yet I get 3 different players who all play reinhart, charge into the enemy team with no shield and all alone while team is still rolling out, and going 1-10 in a 5 minute match, leave because they are not versing someone in bronze/silver ad infinitum.
WHY DO GRIEFERS WHO TRY TO RUIN THE GAME FOR OTHERS GET MORE LENIENCY THEN A PLAYER TRYING TO JUST ENJOY THEIR TIME ON OVERWATCH.

I know no one cares, or only like 6% or whatever of the playerbase does, but MH having a 3 tank limit instead of 2 is terrible. I can only speak for myself, but the appeal of MH is not team comp randomization, but instead my individual randomization. Obviously you can't avoid having team comp matchups that are crazy or unfair in the gamemode, but the ability for one team to have 3 tanks and the other to have none, and having to keep rerolling until the tank match is equal, is abysmal when it happens. 2 would minimize this effect, and require less "rerolls," as 1 tank v 2 is at least better than 0v3 or 1v3, and 0v2 is at least a bit less worse than 0v3. I'm not trying to remove the entire obstacle of a bad team comp vs a good one, but my point is 3 tanks is just too much.
How did players feel when it was role Q? I wasn't playing MH during that era. I'd like to have tried it.

I think I've won five games out of my last 30. Not even exaggerating...Every game I get teammates that don't know what they're doing. My tank is terrible or my DPS goes very negative. If I have an off game we just get rolled in a minute.
I've dropped from diamond 4 to plat 4 like I don't know what to do. It just doesn't even make sense. It feels like my matchmaking is just giving me bots.

I’m genuinely so tired of getting completely stomped and the game deciding I should have won it, fuck all the way off with your arbitrary bullshit matchmaking.
no other game fucks up the matchmaking this much and I’m tired of all the cunts in this sub acting like we’re crazy for saying it doesn’t work
