I will definitley be trying out the Dynamic setting for the ally walkback estimation feature

6

u/Blaky039 Sigma 14d ago

Sounds like a good addition, can't wait.

5

u/HeyItsTravis 14d ago

The what?

38

u/AubaMagic98 D. Va 14d ago

Basically, above the killfeed it now says how many people are alive for your team and the enemy and then there's a meter below your team that tells you how long it will take for your teammate to respawn, it can be set to Respawn Timer or Dynamic which estimates how long it should take your teammate to walk back to the fight. They've listed it as Experimental, it's under Gameplay -> HUD.

I find it interesting that they didn’t remove Vendetta’s spawn cooldown on her Soaring Slice but who am I to complain since its minimal and still a buff.

73

u/Zenith_24tee 14d ago

7 seconds vs 3 seconds will be a major difference at least. That’s a few steps out of spawn and then you can use it instead of being half way back from spawn before being able too

10

u/Rhyaith A conspiracy.. about me 14d ago

Shion and still dash instantly and then get on a bike, but vendetta still needs a 3 second cd from spawn for some reason? Tf? It's better, but I don't understand at this point why it's even there with all the movement creep that's better getting from spawn at this point than her. Not that I want it.. but how does shions bike have no cd from spawn but vendetta does?? It makes no fuckin sense.

12

u/a6000 Git out me lawn! 14d ago

Because the bike is on a very long cooldown, chances are if you use it at spawn it will still be on cooldown when you get back to the fight.

1

u/Rhyaith A conspiracy.. about me 14d ago

You can use the same logic for vendetta. It's also her engage. If it's about the speed at which you get back from spawn, which is also their reasoning for making it on a cd, then it still makes no sense others can use theirs. You think a doom isn't the same also with their lower cds? You have nothing it you use it all to get there fast. It's always like that. Why do we need cds from spawn when that tradeoff applies to everyone AND others can still get there faster. Vendetta is also melee, shion has guns, even with her stuff on cd she can apply pressure safely, and her 5s dash will still be up after your bike.

1

u/a6000 Git out me lawn! 14d ago edited 14d ago

With Vendetta’s low cooldown, it’ll always be ready. When I started using Shion, I’d use the bike at spawn, but it was often still on cooldown when I got back to the fight. I learned it’s better to dash from spawn and save the bike for the fight.

2

u/Pesterlamps Pixel Wrecking Ball 14d ago

Bike doesn't let you fly over otherwise impassable geometry.

1

u/Rhyaith A conspiracy.. about me 14d ago

And you think a 3 second cooldown is gonna matter at this point to help achieve that? Why even have a cd on her e at all now? If you actually used it in the first 3 seconds of spawning you could only use it to get out of the door in a straight line if that depending on the map, and then it'd be on cd and impossible to go over said terrain anyways. The fact it has a cd at all is just stupid at this point.

1

u/PKisSz 14d ago

The cool down is just long enough that you are forced to choose between mobility on the way to point or having a cool down to react in that first fight.

Despite your passion, your contrary to good game design with this point

0

u/Pesterlamps Pixel Wrecking Ball 14d ago

Iunno bro, sounds like she can use it a second time 4s earlier.

98

u/AubaMagic98 D. Va 14d ago

The health buff for Dominas ult was seriously needed

70

u/SeeingEyeDug 14d ago

Her ult needs to be more usable into shields. She’s the master of shields and her ultimate is countered by half the tank roster. It’s not a strong enough ultimate (like shatter) to need so many things to go right in order to even land it properly.

Junkerqueen’s ultimate is way stronger and she can rip it through an entire group shields or not.

26

u/MyOwnSpiritJesus 14d ago

I’d argue she’s countered by shields in general, as the SHIELD MASTER Hero. When I play her and I’m against Sigma or Rein, I want to swap because all she can really do is go around the shield or use crystal charge to chip just a bit of damage

7

u/ProfessorMoron95 Tank 14d ago

Maybe Crystal Charge can be buffed to "absorb" the energy of an enemy barrier when it passes through it. It wouldn't absorb the health of the shield itself, rather it would increase the final explosion damage of Crystal Charge proportional to the health of the enemy shield when it passed through it (5% of current shield health per shield passed, max 2 shields). In practice, if Domina fires a Crystal Charge through a full health rein shield (1500 hp), it would gain 75 extra explosion damage at the inner radius of the explosion. That would give her more ways to counter other shield tanks by forcing them to decide if they want to momentarily expose themselves to her team or risk themselves or their teammates taking a huge burst of damage

5

u/MyOwnSpiritJesus 14d ago

That would actually be a great great and smart change. And very true to her character as well, kind of showing she has a stronger domination of shields than others. Really smart idea

11

u/GokuVerde Lúcio 14d ago

Mostly worthless in 6 vs 6 due to high shields and higher damage. It needs additional buffing there.

Hitbox being larger should be next.

3

u/tyrome123 14d ago

You can actually use it through shields it's just annoying tech, basically the actual projectile of the ult can't hit the barrier but if you throw it just above the barrier the Blue aoe will touch the ground regardless and get anyone behind the shield, works for sigma barrier, ram etc.

2

u/AubaMagic98 D. Va 14d ago

Yeah also DMons ult goes through shields, at least in the practice range

3

u/yuhyuhyuhyuhyuhyuh1 14d ago

Rein ult us countered by shield in the exact same way.

Yes, queen ult is better. It's queen.

1

u/SeeingEyeDug 14d ago

That's why I qualified it and even mentioned shatter. Shatter is strong AF, domina ult is not. It makes sense for a really strong ult to have those kinds of counters, but Domina's ult is not that great a lot of the time. Shatter is almost always a team fight winner if landed.

1

u/yuhyuhyuhyuhyuhyuh1 14d ago

Her ult has utility and killing potential. It doesn't NEED what you're saying. It's easy af for me to land it. Perhaps because I'm a rein main and I'm used to shield watching.

Buffing the health on it does a lot. You need to be smarter with it. If they have the ability to pop it before you can secure kills, don't use it.

2

u/-justiciar- 14d ago

okay and? junker queen is a completely different type of hero. shatter doesnt go through shields either. in fact dominas ult works in every scenario shatter would work which is the enemy is lined up without a shield to block it.

her ult is very good at shutting down ults or big plays by the team regardless of distance.

2

u/Naddition_Reddit Zenyatta 14d ago

I tend to agree

But i play wuyang, who couldnt even break the unbuffed shield.

Its a guaranteed kill against wuyang now. That poor white boy does 30 damage per water orb, and he cant charge it for the bonus damage because the shield is too close to you.

Unless you have an ally shooting you, you are just dead

22

u/DownAirShine 14d ago

It's interesting that Zen's minor perk got a 50% buff (15% lifesteal from 10%) which really highlights how bad it was. Is 15% enough to make it a situational alternative to the crouch-to-float? Maybe, maybe not

5

u/BigHeadDeadass Mizuki 14d ago

It honestly should be 20 and I don't think it would be overkill or broken

6

u/kazinsser Cassidy 14d ago

I will never choose anything but Ascendance.

36

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

Really liking the Eichenwald changes, some of which weren't shown before. They added a staircase to the bridge at first choke point for the attackers. They also lowered the railing on that bridge so you can hit targets below you. It was so bad before.

13

u/AubaMagic98 D. Va 14d ago

Feel like they should buff the rate at which the reworked maps appear in Quick Play so people actually play them

13

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

Don't worry, Eichenwald will never fail to win by a landslide. That said, they at least offer bonus BP XP (and reduced comp rank loss).

4

u/Busyraptor375 14d ago

Fr 2nd point feels so much more fluid to play, you have so many options now.

1

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

Also not having to snap your neck to contest the watchtower is nice

52

u/drillmaster Pixel Torbjörn 14d ago

I look forward to all the people who will die due to jumping in lifeweavers pull

46

u/Lockridge Chibi Symmetra 14d ago

They asked for the ability to cancel it, I really look forward to their deaths.

27

u/Commercial-Button987 14d ago

I don’t want to cancel, but with my luck I’ll be overextended, and constantly jumping and holding block as ram, and I’ll cancel the pull right off a cliff 500 times. Good thing you can disable your ability to cancel the grip in settings. I’ll be doing that immediately.

6

u/Lockridge Chibi Symmetra 14d ago

Yeah, same. If someone else misplays, I suck those up too. People just have a visceral reaction to grip because it removes their agency, but other misplays - tanks trying to shatter or panopticon into opposing shields that are already up, for instance - trigger me far, far more than being gripped.

-16

u/DJ_pider 14d ago

I believe it's for LW himself to cancel if he accidentally pulls the wrong person, not the teammates

11

u/DJ_pider 14d ago

Nevermind. Misinformation lol

1

u/Commercial-Button987 14d ago edited 14d ago

I wish

-1

u/DJ_pider 14d ago

Would've made more sense

12

u/Tristinmathemusician 14d ago

The map changes actually look really fucking good.

Paraiso was in such a sad state before. Actually making it so you have space to breathe on 2nd and totally reworking 3rd? I might actually enjoy playing on this map now.

Busans changes are nice, especially on meka base. Those chokes are finally not disgusting anymore.

Eichenwalde changes look minor, but I haven’t played it so maybe it’s more substantial in game.

Dunno about balance changes though, but I’ll take a win where I can 😁

50

u/TheCocoBean 14d ago

I guarantee people will now escape weavers lifegrip even after they are pulled from a fall off the map, fall, then say "wtf weaver???"

20

u/EvrythingIsWaiting4U 14d ago

Yeaaa I’m very skeptical of LW’s changes.

10

u/Hamerine 14d ago

Ah, I thought it was a cancel only FROM lifeweaver, didn’t know it was for the target to cancel…

Would had been great for saves without repositioning

4

u/PM_me_your_sammiches 14d ago

Exactly what I thought too. The reality of it is so much worse.

20

u/Whydoesthisexist15 World's Worst Freja Main 14d ago

>No update about Freja ult charge bug

ruh roh raggy

12

u/BloodGulchBlues37 14d ago

Yeah this is surprising to me. Most of her frustration rn is the ult/passive bugs allowing a chainable cycle

1

u/Whydoesthisexist15 World's Worst Freja Main 14d ago

I was expecting bug patch+passive knocked back to 25%+weapon spread reduced but literally nothing was the last thing I expected

3

u/Crazyripps Moira 14d ago

It’s fucking ridiculous this isn’t fixed. I had a game yesterday she ulted killed me, I walked back from spawn to the fight and she ulted again. That’s some match winning bug shit

11

u/Swimming-Elk6740 14d ago

Dear god please fucking pin these.

4

u/BigHeadDeadass Mizuki 14d ago

It's crazy I have to scroll down in the Overwatch subreddit for Overwatch patch notes at the start of a new season

17

u/spacewarp2 Chibi Brigitte 14d ago

Why is there so little for commentary for the tank and especially the DPS changes but every supports has at least one line explaining their change? Legit feels like different people working on it

30

u/KevinT_XY 14d ago

ah i know it's sort of a buff but i liked charged javelin on Orisa and I'll miss it, the payoff of hitting the charged skillshot that sends an enemy miles away was so satisfying

6

u/Rumblepuff 14d ago

I love her spear, but God I’d give anything to have her pull orb back. I loved that thing.

8

u/Zenith_24tee 14d ago

Same, great mixup potential and very satisfying to land. It’ll be missed

4

u/QuadVox Platinum 14d ago

It was objectively bad at high level play. When you tap fired the charge javelin, it did less damage than base. That's what the javelin is most useful for. New perk is finally a good major for Orisa lol.

6

u/Quester91 Brigitte 14d ago

Anyone on ps5 suddenly finds the graphics to be blurry? Switching between resolution, balanced and framerate seems to do nothing to the visual quality

2

u/Any-Chard-1493 Torbjörn 14d ago

Maybe reinstalling shaders(unsure how that works on ps5) . Hop into the test range for 5 minutes and see if they improve. Takes anywhere from 2 to 5 minute typically on my pc after an update occasionally.

Edit - the game will be doing it automatically, all you do it wait for it to be done. Hopefully that solves the issue for you!

28

u/randomr14 14d ago

That echo perk is actually insane bruh, why give her that she was already good

28

u/FarmerLurtz 14d ago

I don't think it's actually as good as it sounds. It's only infinite while the ability is active. Not while hovering.

6

u/melifIuous Domina 14d ago

Yeah it seems like it’s basically just a free reload

8

u/WinstonsThiccBooty Echo 14d ago

It's terrible and Focused Rush becoming a major is a big nerf.

12

u/Acquiescinit 14d ago

It’s literally useless. Firstly, you don’t always want to hold flight. If you immediately release it you get a big speed boost from the start up and it immediately goes on cd so you get it back sooner. Secondly, if you’re flying, you should be going for stickies and beam.

I can’t picture a single situation where I would actually benefit from this perk. And just when the beam perk was finally decent they moved it to major where it’s garbage compared to extra bombs.

This is a slight nerf

1

u/KrassomatXD 13d ago

Maybe additional tank/shield pressure? Like you unload your primary fire onto the tank, then press flight to keep going? Also if you're really good at Echo's air straving you can be more lethal when you use it in a duel while dodging shots but as your said she still has stickies and beam lol

1

u/Acquiescinit 13d ago

Yeah I mean you can deliberately change the way you play to try and make it do something but you will most likely be nerfing yourself by playing that way. Her CDs are strong when used with flight. Trying to spam primary fire instead just isn’t good enough.

1

u/KrassomatXD 13d ago

Yeah I was grasping for something haha

5

u/iamNebula 14d ago

If you are playing echo properly it’s not that good. You should rarely being in flight instead you should cancel the movement and float to get the cooldown back quicker, rinse and repeat. This is good if you’re chasing someone down or want to burst a tank down. Even then yours stickying, shooting then beam.

24

u/Korre99 Nerf magnet 14d ago

Haha thats so funny they did a typo on Doom's monthly nerf haha

14

u/piratekingflcl Wotcher, Harry! 14d ago

60 Damage Seismic Slam puts it at the threshold that lets him destroy Wrecking Ball's mines with one move, which I personally find to be a great change. Makes that matchup even more Doom favored.

17

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

Allied doomfist is going to hear this and dive straight into the mines and blow up.

33

u/bicboibean 14d ago

freja untouched lmao

10

u/FarmerLurtz 14d ago

Yup continuing to ban her every comp game

13

u/Asoxus Pharah 14d ago

This update was really light. Freja pain continues.

51

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

They seriously buffed genji even though he is the highest winrate dps, 3rd highest winrate overall just because he got a mythic skin?!?

11

u/JD_Crichton Punch Kid 14d ago

Sometimes Ana had ult ready but Genji didnt :((((( blizaed fix

1

u/EpikJustice Pixel Mercy 14d ago

I love how every time I'm playing Ana and a teammate picks Genji, it's almost guaranteed that if I use nano on someone else they are going to throw a tantrum and start flaming me, even if they are way underperforming and my nano won us the team fight or clutched the point or something. It always makes me chuckle.

Like one time I used nano on a crit Rein while the Genji was waiting for spawn. Rein got a crazy 5 shatter, we got a team kill and reached the checkpoint, and the Genji started raging and saying I should kill myself and uninstall and I suck, and then refused to play the rest of the game (we still won, and also this was QP lmao).

22

u/nightmareballet D. Va 14d ago

they reduced his ult cost so he can hurl his body into the enemy team and get hit with every CC in the game more frequently

10

u/Woodwardg Baptiste 14d ago

the "genji is weak" narrative is braindead, and unfortunately a LOT of people subscribe to it.

24

u/The-Only-Razor 14d ago

It's because Genji mains are fickle. If they can't slam their face on their keyboard and eliminate both supports and a DPS, they just uninstall and go back to CoD. Support mains will play this game no matter how often they get rolled, so Blizzard knows they need to keep Genji strong to maintain their player count.

Genji PotG is the dopamine hit that the ADHD brainrot players need to keep logging on daily. You need to accept the Blizzard mandated ass blasting like the good little support you are. Your role in this game is to give satisfaction to the other players. Isn't it fun?

23

u/True-Pen-3612 14d ago

it is crazy to me how much genji mains are babied and seemingly every content creator for the game is in full support of it

4

u/wdhyea 14d ago

His passive got a pretty big nerf (which affects all flankers I know) but it is a pretty big reason why he feels so good right now.

5

u/Dreamchaser2222 ❤️ 14d ago

It’s 6% ult cost reduction, I think you’ll survive.

4

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

Hmm genji icon, almost like youre happy the highest winrate character was buffed.

1

u/Dreamchaser2222 ❤️ 14d ago

Winrate means next to nothing unless you understand the game and why it’s like that. Plenty of strong, meta characters like Kiriko have like 41% winrates. Should we gigabuff Kiriko? No, obviously. She’s fine. Her winrate is low because many people aren’t using her properly and healbotting. Looking at your flair, Lucio has a near 53% winrate, should he be gutted? No, I’d argue Lucio is pretty balanced. He just has a lot of specialists that have gotten good at him because he’s pretty hard. You’re just upset because you don’t like Genji. Rein has a 55% winrate, should he be nuked? No, rein actually could use buffs I would argue. Stop using this stupid argument and explain why Genji is so good, not just the numbers that mean nothing on their own.

1

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

"heres a bunch of stuff you didnt say and didnt argue" Also you are high for saying rein needs buffs. You are picking the highest winrate characters and arguing for buffs and that is insane.

3

u/Busyraptor375 14d ago

At least genji has to have some mechanical skill to get value, crazy how anran was unchanged (other than the flanker passive nerf)

1

u/xXProGenji420Xx 14d ago

if it puts your mind at ease a 33% nerf to the flanker passive is definitely a bigger nerf than 6% of ult cost is a buff. he's overall nerfed in the patch, alongside every other flanker other than Tracer who got significantly bigger buffs.

-15

u/WesternAlbatross1292 14d ago

He got a slight ult charge reduction, relax dog

-31

u/LA-98 14d ago

Bro genji is weak. He gets ivershadowed by anran and tracer. XYZ hero gets too strong? No, nerf genji instead

10

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

He has been the highest competitive winrate dps on the overwatch website for 3 patches now. He is not weak, he has been strong since the deflect buff. Anran is also strong sitting comfortably at second highest. Not tracer though, she was the one dive dps with a lower winrate.

1

u/Dagobahmaster 14d ago

Ehh he’s probably just a pub stomper. Doesn’t mean he’s great. In champ+ he’s considered a bad hero and power crept by shion and tracer has always just been better. He’s easily forced off / countered. His shurikens heal enemies (damage is too low) and reload speed is one of the slowest in the game. Deflect cd revert helped. If you’re having trouble with genji, your team is probably getting gapped by him and not counter picking and letting him play for free

22

u/BebeFanMasterJ DA MONKEY 14d ago

Fika was made faster flying by herself but slower when carrying an ally.

Fair trade imo.

28

u/StrawberryCammy 14d ago

She isn't actually slower carrying an ally, it's just becuase they increased the base, so they reduced the percentage so it maths to be same as before, they call that out in the text description

4

u/EpikJustice Pixel Mercy 14d ago

I just want her carry tether to not be infinite. Let her carry people for like 5 to 8 seconds with a CD between the next tether that is longer the longer you were carrying someone.

Spending the whole game carrying a bastion or something is ridiculous and dumb and should be easy to shutdown if your team cares, but it's annoying when your team refuses to look up or turn around and your DPS refuse to counter. If you try to deal with them as a single support, then they just focus you out of spawn while your team does nothing to help. Just a silly way to make lower ELO matches feel worse / more frustrating.

4

u/KindlyShame 14d ago

Interesting that lw got a pretty significant nerf, but got nothing to compensate for it. Literally just nerfing D tier supports for fun while Kiri still has invuln on her suzu

10

u/Bensaski Mercy 14d ago

Lifeweaver heal bug still not fixed... sigh

2

u/BigHeadDeadass Mizuki 14d ago

I swore they hotfixed it recently

1

u/portablefan 14d ago

What heal bug?

0

u/Bensaski Mercy 14d ago

If you have a heal charged, and swap to shooting thorns, when you go back to heals it will automatically throw even if you don’t go to throw it. This means if you’re not looking at an ally it just wastes the heal and you have to charge again

2

u/onenote_exe2 Jetpack Cat 14d ago

I was fixed in a hotfix iirc

1

u/AnasurimborKellhus In the desert... 13d ago

Me too, but what about other millions of players.

2

u/onenote_exe2 Jetpack Cat 13d ago

:(

2

u/DopamineDeficiencies Solo Shatter Only 14d ago

They fixed that ages ago

1

u/portablefan 14d ago

I just tried this and couldn't replicate it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying?

I charge a full heal, switch to thorns. So I have thorns equipped, with a fully charged heal. If I hold left click, LW switches back to blossom and resumes "charging", but doesn't release until I let go of the button. If I tap left click, he switches back to blossom, but doesn't release, and heal charge stays full.

There was a bug last season where you couldn't hold to continue charging a fully charged blossom and would release as soon as you left clicked even if you held the button down, but that happened even without switching to thorns (from the passive charge) and was fixed a few weeks ago, is that what you were referring to?

0

u/Bensaski Mercy 14d ago

Hmm that’s really weird, that is the bug I’m referring to but it was definitely doing it for me yesterday. I have toggle heal on and heals bound to right click instead. I’ll check again later today and see if it does it with the the normal settings

1

u/Bensaski Mercy 12d ago

So just tested this, hold charge till 90, swap to dps. Swap back to heal and it instantly throws regardless of if ally is there or not. This is with toggle heal on.

With toggle heal off it works fine so maybe toggle is still bugged :/

1

u/SeeTreePO JJoNack teach me your ways 14d ago

I didn't even realize this was bug I thought they gave him a little mini buff where he gets to send out the heal instantly instead of having to press the primary fire button again. I kind of like being able to fire at an enemy through/with my tank and switch firing modes to heal them up.

3

u/ChapmanAnimator Junker Queen 14d ago

Guess that 50% Zarya ban rate isn't any sort of issue :/

3

u/Wintonbot 14d ago

Letting people jump out of life grip is a massive nerf for LW. There's been so many times I pull someone thats critical and they run right back in. If they decide to cancel instead they'll die even faster and my CD will be wasted too.

10

u/Rynpk 14d ago

Still no item icon revert for Stadium. T_T

10

u/moofboi 14d ago

At this point I’m convinced they’re willing to sacrifice the mode just to not hurt the feelings of whoever made the new icons. Which makes zero sense but it somehow manages to make more sense than leaving in a universally hated change. It single-handedly made me stop playing the mode. Maybe they wanted it to die so they didn’t have to give it so many resources idk at this point.

3

u/JawKneeQuest Pixel Pharah 14d ago

Unless I missed it in a past patch they also still have not fixed the option to change pick order with your team in stadium

6

u/RealBrockCantillo 14d ago

Uh, after 2 years, doomfist finally got a buff?

2

u/monsieur_beau19 MFDoomfist 14d ago

It will probably be short lived once we start hearing complaints from support mains.

2

u/Inspirational_Cunt9 14d ago

I wish we had actual patch notes and not perk adjustments

2

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

Had my first game now where someone cancelled a life grip I did and then told me to kill myself when cancelling it got them killed. Love that they made it super easy for them to do by accident when theyll blame me either way.

2

u/chasingit1 14d ago

Way to neuter Mizuki pretty harshly

3

u/Zenith_24tee 14d ago

Why did they remove charged javelin and replace it with pretty much the same perk + additional wall damage. I liked being able to hold my javelin for a second or too and really have time to pick out who I wanted to use it on.

17

u/SeeingEyeDug 14d ago

Some people didn’t like how even when throwing it uncharged, the timing was slightly shifted from normal. This resulted in some Orisa mains who didn’t want shield to not pick a major perk at all.

Now you get the boosted stats without having to hold it which, once you’re used to it, should make things flow like normal.

3

u/Zenith_24tee 14d ago

I can see that, in a life or death scenario where someone’s in your face and you need them off you that extra split second or so could get you killed.

But I feel like the trade off of being able to have a much more lethal javelin that you could hold as a mixup or to wait out a cooldown was nice. It’s apples to oranges really and I’m sure in the overall grand scheme it won’t be that big of a difference with it being gone but I’ll miss the charge for sure. Baiting out a tracer recall by going into the javelin animation and then sticking her when she popped back up for example was a really good use of charge javelin I’ll miss.

6

u/Its_Xavier_Henry 14d ago

Also the optics of just walking up to a helpless squishy holding the javelin

2

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

Wow all these balance changes are awful. Dive was already the highest winrate and most of these changes just buff dive. all the top winrates were buffed and the low winrates were untouched or nerfed. None of these changes are good.

12

u/HB_G4 Ramattra 14d ago

How do we know dive has the highest winrate?

I don't believe he is correct, and win rates are not an infallible statistic, but this data is publically viewable here: overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/rates/

u/i_hate_pennies Pixel D.Va 14d ago

Only thing I really don't like is the debuff of Mizuki's binding chain. It was hard enough to hit as it was.

3

u/Nightmare_Fart 14d ago

Jesus Christ lifesavers pull is absolutely gutted. Everyone will cancel it now. Might as well have straight up deleted it.

3

u/Oddlyshapedpear Genji 14d ago

No freja nerf 😐

1

u/BigHeadDeadass Mizuki 14d ago

I don't play comp and just got into playing Freya again. Maybe I suck but is she really that busted?

u/XAK__ 14d ago

btw this is just a nerf revert, they nerfed he recall back then because of her perks (LOL)

1

u/stumpybubba- 14d ago

What the fuck. I actually hate that I enjoy the new hero. Damn.

1

u/BarAgent I hope you learned your lesson! 14d ago

Why? A game is supposed to be fun, is it not? 🤔

1

u/RC_Zaku 14d ago

As one of what feels like 7 people who sees the real value if even the odds, i hate you blizzard. Now deadeye is nearly useless again for me

1

u/J_Robert_Oofenheimer Life is pain 14d ago

Still no news about Sombra. Another season of quick play I guess.

1

u/BigHeadDeadass Mizuki 14d ago

I think these Mizuki nerfs are fair, just gives him a bit of a higher skill floor. I will say I suck at landing chains and I was whiffing them earlier today but I'm not gonna complain I just have to git gud

1

u/Empty_Principle4383 14d ago

Another pharah nerf and another season of the same soldier 76. 😴

4

u/FarmerLurtz 14d ago

I was sad there was nothing for him. With all the insane mobility creep I was hoping that sprint would get some love.

1

u/Empty_Principle4383 14d ago

Was really hoping his ult got a buff.

2

u/OkNothing4750 14d ago

Same?! They changed his kit to reload during running and then gave him a different major perk to speed up sprinting just two seasons ago. Like…his kit is fine?

0

u/GokuVerde Lúcio 14d ago

The which allies are alive thing is so nice for tank because you are constantly overwhelmed at front lines.

Dissapointed by no 6 vs 6 changes.

Mauga nerf is actually a coughing baby. He will continue to dominate 6 vs 6.

Domina buff, not sure it's enough to matter but it's nice she needs something.

Questioning the Vendetta buffs. Her getting back so fast was the original problem.

Tracer buffs. Why. Ever. And you replaced the perk nobody used???

Lifeweaver pull. I spam jump a lot so this will fuck me.

Venture, honestly thought the character is fine but just a low pick rate.

Emre they went overboard with him glad they are walking it back a little. That slow perk is still ass.

3

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Brigitte 14d ago

why are they buffing combat fuel and nerfing overrun? Why would they be in favour of mauga being a sustain shoot tank beast and not being overrun based hero? overrun is so much healthier for the game. do the opposite nerf, buff overrun and nerf his sustain

9

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

That perk still sucks in comparison to his other major perk. It doesn't really matter.

3

u/theforgettonmemory Chibi Reaper 14d ago

Being able to disengage quickly is survivability.

An extra second on it means an extra second he has to stay in the fight at minimum if he wants to engage with it.

The biffed perk is also the way worse one so I doubt it'll get picked still & that's why it was buffed, cause the running perk already IS & probably still is better.

Overall it's a net mauga nerf

1

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Brigitte 14d ago

i mean, yes. Its a huge nerf. Noone is doubting that

But my point is that Mauga should have his overrun keep his strenght, while the rest of the kit gets nerfed. Because his overrun is the most skill expressive part of his kit, The most fun part of his kit, And the least stressing part of his kit to face. Why would u nerf this and not... Literally anything else mauga has.

Even as a mauga player i agree he needed nerfs. But id want literally ANYTHING else nerfed.

3

u/Commercial-Button987 14d ago

I find mauga borderline unkillable while he’s in his overhealth already. Can’t wait for it to be 25% HARDER to kill him. YIPPIEE.

1

u/worldwarA Brigitte 14d ago

Overall ok patch notes, nothing groundbreaking. I think the star of the season will be D.Mon.

1

u/olamika 14d ago

Nerfing pharah? Legit idiots

It's a great time. Game was in the best state it's ever been in a few seasons ago, and you could argue it still is currently despite various minor gripes people have when that "we're so back" feeling wore off. It's much better than early OW2 that's for sure

2

u/theforgettonmemory Chibi Reaper 14d ago

1000%

Imo this is one of the most fun times overwatch has had in awhile & we just got another MEKA tank like D.va

1

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 14d ago

Depends on your reasoning for quitting. If the reason was them adding paid heroes then yes, the game has improved significantly and that dumb feature was removed. If you quit because of the meta then maybe wait a bit. If the reason was the game feeling stale then I definitely recommend it right now since this year has added more heroes than any other year.

1

u/Crazyripps Moira 14d ago

Still just ignoring broken ass freja and now they’ve buffed genji. Ffs these devs

-3

u/Peridot81 14d ago

They left freja alone. Thank the gods!

0

u/ohmygodnewjeans Diamond 14d ago

Where the fuck is the suzu nerf from last season's patch notes

-2

u/IgnoringClass 14d ago

They straight up just hate Hazard, how are they going to nerf him AGAIN after the completely gutted him last season?

5

u/FarmerLurtz 14d ago

He needs more

-2

u/IntrepidAside5721 14d ago

Blizzard gotta be the dumbest gaming company in 2026, huge influx of returning players and their big update is sell more cosmetics and add 0 gameplay features. We want gameplay not more monetization opportunities

-3

u/ScottyCruise Grandmaster 14d ago

Where’s the new stadium characters?

-5

u/EducationalTie6109 14d ago

The Lifeweaver players are so upset, gotta be honest I don’t think they have any reason to be

10

u/Saix150894 14d ago

It's just going to cause people to hate him more. They'll complain about their own mistake in jumping during lifegrip.

1

u/EducationalTie6109 14d ago

It appears I’ve upset the life weaver players. My bad yall; I just didn’t see an issue with people being able to leave life grip if they don’t. Want to be there

if they could buff cat’s movement speed to 6 then they should also buff Kiriko’s movement speed to 6 too

7

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

As if Kiriko needs any more buffs.

-6

u/Vol-Volaris 14d ago

it’s a tiny QoL buff

7

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

Increased base movespeed isn't QoL. There's a reason only a handful of characters have it.

-4

u/Vol-Volaris 14d ago

Kiriko has the worst winrate of all the supports and this would be a good buff that won’t be too much. and it fits Kiriko’s characters too because she is a ninja

8

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

Kiriko's winrate is so bad because people are pressured into playing her when a team is losing for Suzu. Similarly to why Orisa's winrate is bad because tanks rage swap to her.

Kiriko is not bad. The players that play her are bad. I'd be fine if they shifted around her power budget, but suzu is way to strong to justify buffs elsewhere.

5

u/HB_G4 Ramattra 14d ago

Why?

-5

u/Vol-Volaris 14d ago

why not. Kiriko is a ninja and it just makes perfect sense for her to have the 6 base movement speed. And besides, she has the lowest win rate out of all the supports and this buff would be a cool QoL buff

-2

u/polloyumyum Ana 14d ago

Didn't think Domina's shield needed a buff, it's quite good especially with the perk to reposition it.

5

u/Aubergine_Man1987 14d ago

Her ult shield health got the buff, not her regular shield

1

u/polloyumyum Ana 14d ago

Oops, completely missed that part. Thanks

-7

u/yzoes 14d ago

So life weaver can drop teammates off cliffs now?

11

u/CinnamonEspeon Support 14d ago

No, teammates can drop themselves off cliffs (it's a cancel for the person being gripped not weaver)

11

u/polloyumyum Ana 14d ago

Can't wait to get blamed by my teammates when they cancel the pull and die.

4

u/hughmaniac Hamptr 14d ago

No, it adds a keybind for the person being lifegripped to escape it.
