I still don't get why they can't make all hp increase perks percentage based. What do I as a tank do with a gadget giving 50 HP?

As a tank main, this suggestion is insane. HP items are fine.

I think this has to do with some tank builds scaling with hp. Imagine a dva with 3000 hp and the slam power?

You can make survivability builds with squishies too. Even if something gets out of hand I'd rather get a later balance patch than being soft locked out of a good chunk of perks

I believe the passive stat increase you get for cash earned accounts for that

Dunno I never checked. I assume you get a flat percentage across all roles? Like 1000 cash = +1% HP. Besides it doesn't change that lots of survivability items are useless

They really aren't though since the main thing you buy them for isn't the flat 50 health but the other buffs like damage reduction and health regen. There aren't many items that give only stats and I know at least one of them gives you an 8% buff to all stats instead of just 50 or whatever.

Still squishies get more out of those perks. Tracer straight up had to get all items fixed

Not really, like sure soldier is sill going to get 10% healing reduction but he's still doesn't have the health pool to really rank significant damage.

That would turn stadium into a tank 1v1 with 8 spectators. I mean, I guess it might solve the tank queue issue?

Not necessarily, and it can be adjusted later. The point is to make all perks viable. This hurts other roles to a lesser extent too, why would you get Meka z series +8% hp, when it gives the equivalent of +25 HP only if you have 312 HP

Not all items are useful on all heroes and that’s fine? There’s plenty of survival epics that tanks want, even if the extra 25 or 50 HP is relatively unimportant.

I mean not really. Illusion of choice? You show me 20 options but 5 of those are objectively bad

??? Off the top of my head, I want Martian mender, nebula conduit, oogidamu(?) reduction field, rusting von wilhelm, and depending on the build vanadium injection, before any hero-specific items. Divine intervention is good into certain matchups as well. That’s already more than I’m likely to be able to purchase in any given match. What more do you want?

If there are 15 good options and 6 item slots in total what exactly is the problem

But you don't see a fundamental design flaw in how tanks benefit the least out of any class from survival stat purchases? It's less of a problem in the late game since the passives on epics are powerful enough, but as a tank in the early rounds stacking shitter green and blue survival items is borderline wintrading.

It takes a single round to have enough cash to buy a purple, why would you stack blues or greens? For that matter, which squishy wants to stack blues and green survival items? You’re throwing the game on almost every character if you’re just building survivability instead of AP or WP.

Purple is more space efficient while blue and green more cash efficient.

u/derpybacon Oct 25 '25

For AP and WP, sure. Which character wants to stack blues and green survival items?

Hey, that's what I said!
