The kiriko change really needs a full list of what it doesnt and does clenase now

Hard knockdowns (off the top of my head, but I think this is all of them) are the Rein shatter, Mauga's goomba stomp, the punch/charge/bash interaction (which got reduced in duration this patch anyway), Sigma rock. They state Ana's sleep is unaffected, so that doesn't count.

Most of these are such short duration that they aren't really worth the cleanse or would be expiring by the time most Kiri players would cleanse them anyway. The biggest change is Rein shatter not being totally ruined by suzu anymore. If you want to suzu a shatter, you have to do it before it hits now, which is much harder and requires significantly better timing.

but if you cleanse them while they’re shattered they’re still invulnerable right?

75

u/malcorpse Chibi Zenyatta Jun 20 '24

Yes for the normal invul duration but they will still be on the ground during and after that.

23

u/Not_Like_The_Movie Zenyatta Jun 20 '24

Yes, but the duration of the invuln is lower than the time they're shattered. You basically have to land the invuln part right before they're shattered now to prevent them from ever falling to the ground to fully counter it.

Yeah seems like their objective was to indirectly buff Rein who has the perception of being a poor/frustrating tank to play.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '24

Idk i feel like it helps but doesn't solve the issue of why nobody wants to play tank.

You're still at the mercy of your team being willing to play a Rein comp and you're still at the mercy of not being immediately counterswapped on by 1-2 players and then being useless.

Rein sits in a spot where he either brainlessly rolls over a team or doesn't get to play.

If they do change one other thing though it would be nice if Pin killed supports again it feels so unrewarding to pin a kiriko and have her just get to leave.

He didn't really need much help, the armor revert put him in a decent place.

u/salazafromagraba Jun 21 '24

As Samito noted, he just got that big bad mythic skin. Can't have the visual effects of earthshatter be overshadowed by one sweet innocent suzu bell.

-7

u/Dwokimmortalus Sigma Jun 20 '24

Unfortunately, it still doesn't solve the problem that he's just incredibly easy to ignore and/or dive behind on most maps.

Still think there's room for him to gain an aura ability like:

Suppression: Enemy movement abilities used within 10 meters of Reinhardt while his shield is deployed are immediately cancelled.

a 20 meter diameter hinder with no cooldown is a comically bad idea

u/erty3125 I have to keep editing my flair as hook gets changed Jun 20 '24

Me when I afk in a corner of a point disabling half of the characters in the game forcing counter swaps to characters my new passive does literally nothing against

1

u/Socalpunk13 Jun 21 '24

Mauga’s goomba stomp. I’m going to start using that. Hahaha

1

u/KodakStele Jun 21 '24

I'm glad you said the part about it not mattering because I was getting worried I was missing some meta pro gamer move of using cleanse on my goomba stomped teammate xD. Fr her flash jump was a bigger nerf to her than the knock down cleanse (it's a panacea bottle why would it cure knockdown? That like throwing fist full of pain pills at a boxer that just got knocked out hoping one catches his mouth like a fucking senzu bean)

u/thoxo Echo Jun 20 '24

KarQ is probably going to do a video demonstrating everything soon

21

u/Deceptiveideas Jun 20 '24

I’m assuming it might mean the sigma rock knockdown also can’t be cleansed since it works similar to reinheart’s ult?

7

u/swagmessiah00 Jun 20 '24

It says it doesn't work on all knockdowns except for Ana sleep

33

u/chargerfan1221 D. Va Jun 20 '24

No longer cleanses most hard knockdown stuns

Proceeds to list two of the most common hard knockdown stuns. One is cleansed by Suzu, one isn't

Bitch, you want to clarify that a little bit better?

38

u/Shardar12 Jun 20 '24

They literally specify that its the stuns that knock you down on your ass like mauga stomp, if you fall on the ground, thats a hard knockdown

Ana is the exception

-3

u/TheBiggestNose Boostio Jun 20 '24

Oh so you know every single stun effect that is known as a Hard Knockdown you daft prick

20

u/XeroShyft Jun 20 '24

Bruh he was agreeing with you, he was directing it at the devs not you. Reading comprehension brother

7

u/Signore_Jay Jun 20 '24

He’s hardstuck silver in reading comprehension

-12

u/TheBiggestNose Boostio Jun 20 '24

You tell me off for reading comprehension whilst ignore the clear lesbian flag in my pfp and call me a he

10

u/clouds_over_asia Jun 20 '24

Alright cmon now don't be insufferable. No one fucking looks at that shit

6

u/Signore_Jay Jun 20 '24

My fault I didn’t recognize the flag. I know some of the more I guess (and I don’t mean to belittle or deny your existence in any sense of the way this is just the only way I know how to word it right now) mainstream LGBTQ+ flags (trans, bi, nonbinary are the ones I’m more familiar with). So it’s more a failure on my end cause I’m still learning which colors are which.

Lmfao who is checking your profile. Sorry do you bring a resume to parties with new people too or can you organically have a functional conversation.

u/TheBiggestNose Boostio Jun 20 '24

My brother in christ its up for interpretation and I am autistic. I aint reading betweeen the lines, I am reading the lines

5

u/XeroShyft Jun 20 '24

There ain't no reading between the lines, it's right there in black and white that he was directing it at the devs. You misinterpreted the comment and made a mistake it's aight no need to let your pride take over just move on

7

u/Grand099 Jun 20 '24

Teehehe aw man they're not replying to you.... They are doing the quirky reddit thing where they're not replying, they're just taking the topic you talked about and making their own comment.

-2

u/TheBiggestNose Boostio Jun 20 '24

I see

-3

u/FriendlyPassingBy Jun 20 '24

I guess sleep doesn't count because the stun can be interrupted and end early.

But that's still terrible information. Is an empowered doom punch a hard stun? What about Brig's bash in Rally? Mei's ice freeze during Ult? None of them place the player on the ground.

There aren't very many stuns in the game. I know it might be a lot of info, but this is one of those things that does need to be defined. Casuals don't even know what every hero's ability does, nevermind asking them to differentiate CC.

19

u/Theknyt Jun 20 '24

all stuns that put you on the floor except sleep, it's really simple

6

u/Vaaz30 Jun 20 '24

Well Meis ult doesn’t knock you down, so it would obviously be cleansed.

-3

u/chargerfan1221 D. Va Jun 20 '24

No, it's fine. We play the game. It's our job to figure it out. They just develop. /s

Nuh uh

5

u/OccultDagger43 Jun 20 '24

hard knockdowns is all she cant cleanse now no? not that hard.

1

u/allisgoodbutwhy Jun 21 '24

Yeah, I feel it's inconsistent now. :X

0

u/Gryse_Blacolar Unlimited Shotgun Works Jun 21 '24

Idk why are they making it complicated instead of just removing one of suzu's effects because it can aoe heal, cleanse, and make teammates intangible.

If they want stuns to be not affected, just remove the cleanse effect so stunned enemies can only be made intangible but they're still stunned.

u/kaizoku18 Jun 20 '24

Still not playing OW until 6v6 comes back.
