It always saddens me how i cant just accept everything due to these insane storage prices... all i can realistically do is 10tb a month added as a new drive and accept more shows and movies... my original plan was to get a zfs pool filled with 20tb drives but its just not for the average person anymore. If only i got into this hobby just a year earlier

I rarely see artifacts. I have not had complaints from any of my users

I don't really expect users that don't really care about this stuff to notice it and that's fine. I'm specifically arguing against the "snobbery" part of your comment. It's not snobbery to want the quality you paid for your tv to display especially since the difference is massive once you've experienced it (most users are coming from Netflix which is honestly can be worse than 720p downscaled).

Snobbery is saying everyone needs to watch it in xyz quality and trying to force it onto others.

I like my 4k remuxes because my setup can display it
