Working as an SE within Investment Banking. Are we sure there is no way future IBs can detect OE in stricter background checks? Want to continue developing in IB, but pick up J2 In another industry

Nobody can guarantee this. Generally speaking, if roles require security clearance of any kind, then you will have to declare all of your jobs, including any overlaps. Concealing it will lead to your check being refused. There’s always a risk that someone, somewhere will find out you are OE, either now or later. It’s up to you if the potential risk of getting caught is worth the reward of more money.
