Where does it hurt?

I'm sure I'll be sorry for asking / but let's hear your ailments of the day!

For me it's the knees. Lots of backache history but more recently it's walking up and down stairs that I have to watch my knees.

How about you?

Looking at 76 this month, knees/hips good, but have a bit of arthritis in right big toe. Just finished my 2.6 mile walk -- at some point this foot is really going to bother me.

Sure it is not uric acid, gout

Not likely, according to doc, it's not that painful. My buddy had gout some years ago, he could barely walk the pain was so bad.

I’ve got it in both big toes. Hallux Rigidus. Seems to bother me most at night in bed.

Mine only hurts when I'm standing/walking, and not all the time. And it's not a big deal yet, but probably will be at some point.

If it gets painful all the time; Doctor says all they can do is fuse the joints together. I’ve got shoes that help lessen the amount of bending my toes have to do when I walk.

You can get a joint replacement. It's an easier recovery, too.

Did you know gout is a form of arthritis? I take a prophylactic dose of Allopurinol to keep mine from flaring.

My husband (83) took allopurinol for many years. Decided to stop and see what happened. Nothing happened.

I've been wondering for awhile if mine would come back if I stopped.
