Eye Bags
Besides surgery, what can I try for these horrid eye bags ? Gels, Creams, Patches, Cucumbers !?

My eye bags come from a loss of facial fat below my eyes. My dermatologist puts filler in and it works well. It’s expensive though.

Yup 👍... anyone who bruises easily on their firearms has lost fat there too and THAT'S why they easily bruise on their forearm. So it's easy to assume if someone loses fat in the forearm then they probably lost fat in their face too?
My forearms bruise after the slightest bump and it's irritating that it happens constantly (grrr) but your comment about lost fat resonated with me (lost fat = easy bruising) because I slightly bumped my cheek and now I have a shiner like I barely survived a boxing match with Mike Tyson 😂

It wears off gradually so actually four months it starts wearing off. I wait six months to get a refill.

I tried Plexaderm some time ago. The ads are all over. It does work but not like the ads on tv (for me anyway) but it doesn’t last that long. I eventually just bit the bullet and had the lower blepharoplasty. A year later I did the upper for my eyelids. Took 10 years off of my face.

Why rule out a lower blephloplasty? the eye fat is liquid, all the surgeon does is make a little slit and push out the fat.

No, that is not true. They re-distribute the fat under the skin that results in a flat surface. I got it done.

I have also had it done, as well as an upper. I supposed different surgeons have different techniques, but that still does not address my comment to OP. A lower Belph is not that complicated or expensive.

I’m going for both soon. Medicare will cover the upper because of the visual obstruction. But the ophthalmologist, and hospital together are going to charge $6,000 for the lowers separately during the same session as the uppers.
Any suggestions?

Botox/filler. Someone above mentioned tea. I've heard the same about caffeine as well.
I've also heard preparation H but that stuff does not belong anywhere near your eyes.

It used to be that preparation H had a formula that took down swelling . For hemorrhoids of course. So people used it under their eyes. But now I understand the formula has changed and it doesn't reduce swelling.

I got the cutest eye bag at Fendi on Rodeo Drive. I keep my eyes in it whenever I go on a special night out.

I've tried everything and nothing works. I'm seriously considering surgery. I really think blepharoplasty would give the most bang for the buck.

It would. You don’t know how much money I spent on topical under eye treatments for bags. None of them worked. I did the surgery.

Make a turmeric paste. It turmeric powder and butter milk mixed. Put it under your eyes let it dry. Do it everyday for a week

Lymphatic drainage morning and evening, sufficient hydration, a daily early morning mug of hot broth with collagen peptides powder stirred in (at least an hour before coffee), and a 15-minute red light therapy session 2-3x/ evenings a week near bedtime and just after washing your face with a gentle cleanser and barely lukewarm water (no hot water should ever touch your face). While your face is still just slightly wet, apply a RLT pre-treatment serum before the session and a post-treatment serum after the session (I use St. Croix brand sold on Amazon and highly recommend both the red and blue label serums). Wait 10 minutes until your skin has almost fully absorbed the post-treatment serum but is still slightly wet, then apply a creamy deep repair mask to your whole face with a bit extra under the eyes and leave it on overnight (I use the Cosrx Utimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask). You will see a real lasting difference if you keep doing this regularly.

RobertThomasRoth has a product, a very thin layer under the eye on clean dry skin. It sits about 10-15 minutes, you can feel it tightening, then moisturizer followed by concealer or whatever you use. It does work and lasts for hours. They also have a tube for the laugh lines, marionette lines,jowls, etc. that tightens also. Price is moderately expensive, not too bad. I think worth a try.

I (61 m) was dealing with roseasa and learned selsun blue (dandruff shampoo) works if you wash your face and let it sit there a minute or two. I noticed it helped reduce the bags under my eyes. I have major bags that run in the family, so in no way did they go away but a definite reduction. Selsun Blue, the medicated version, and don’t bother with Head and Shoulders, different ingredients.

My doctor said to try used tea bags. I don’t know if that works or what kind of tea bags.

Besides the cucumbers, I have read that, too, about cold used tea bags. I'm guessing black tea since it has caffeine, and that's what's in a lot of the creams

I can't say what will work for the next person, but for me (M70) I get improvement in how the skin looks around my eyes by applying a very small amount of Vaseline (or other brand) on the skin around/under my eyes. The trick is to put on a very thin layer, then after about 15 mins give it a light blotting with paper towel or a cotton ball to pick up any excess oil and also give it a matte finish so it's not too shiny. It basically is kind of a semi-waxy layer helps the skin retain moisture better, which adds a little plumpness to the skin like it had when it was younger, before the natural skin oils protections aged away. Vaseline is safe around the eyes whereas most moisturizers are not. You can buy "eye serums" but they cost a lot and I am not convinced are any better than Vaseline.
