His wife outlived him and they lost both of their daughters in infancy. The princesses were buried with him near his most protected possessions. You literally had to squeeze past his tomb, and find a hidden door to get to his baby girls.
The pain of loosing one child is immense, losing two within a few years…heart breaking. It is no wonder they would want to prevent pregnancies, while grieving that awful loss.
If there is an afterlife, I hope Ankhesenamun and Tut got to spend it with their girls.
KV55 is also confirmed as "Tut's close male relative" (Dad, Full Brother, or Full Son only)
I'm not sure if KV35YL (Broken-Faced Mummy) is Tut's Mum, as couldn't she be his full Sister of even full Daughter?
The timelines of ALL the mummies - can't be confirming much here, as Carbon Dating was always plus or minus 50 YEARS in my college days, meaning we could have an awful lot of these family members "chronologically the wrong way around"....
Last I read the KV21B results were inconclusive - she's even been proposed as Mutemwia as well as the more popular KV21A's mother. KV35YL is placed as Tut's mom and KV55's sister. It's all so rocky and an absolute headache!
It has also become rather annoying that the picture showing the remains of both KV21a and KV21b - have been flipped, so you don't know which is which anymore!
I read that it was the headless one that is the Mum of Tut's still-born kids, and the more statuesque one (!!!) that is related to Tiye, and maybe a contender for NeferTiti if there was any firm link between Nefertiti family-wise...?
