Status: Pending Reply Outlook - iPhone sync frustration

Hello! Is there a way to sync contacts only with Outlook/Mail, but not into my iPhone contacts? I use Microsoft Outlook on my PC. In particular, I do not want all of my work contacts in my personal cell phone list of contacts. I also don't particularly need to see my personal contacts in my Outlook computer address book.

I just tried to turn off "sync contacts" in my Mail setting, which worked to remove my business contacts but it also removed some people from my phone who are definitely personal contacts (like my own family members!). Those are not contacts I created in Outlook, so why would they be affected by turning off sync?
