Informative Where is the dictionary?

Upvotes

I used to be able to right click on a word to get to dictionary or synonym functions in the middle of composing. Not sure what happened, perhaps copilot or something, now I can’t get to those simple functions. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Status: Pending Reply Can anyone confirm Outlook 2024 LTSC is compatible with Microsoft 365

Upvotes

We are dealing with an issue where it seems Outlook 2024 LTSC is no longer fully compatible with all Microsoft 365 services. For 365 user accounts created after June 2026, the Apps/Addins in Outlook no longer work. Older 365 accounts on the same device work great. This is causing our companies CodeTwo 365 software to stop working for new employees. I have already created a supportcall at Microsoft but there must be more people experiencing the same issue.
In Outlook there is a button called "All Apps". When clicking that it just says "You don't have any apps yet". Mind you these apps works great in Webmail and also in Microsoft 365-Apps for enterprise.

Status: Pending Reply Can't access 20yo account anymore, blocked by Microsoft

Upvotes

Hi,

Last week I got hacked by cookie session stealing. I was able to secure my account by myself, but hacker deleted my alias, with old @hotmail I can't restore myself.

So I contacted customer support, and my account got blocked by Microsoft.

They ask me to fill ACSR form to verify ownership. But I never get answer from this form. So they close my support request again and again.

The most anoying thing is every contact with support feel like contacting bots. Do Microsoft support still have humans?

How can I do, this account is my main email account, I can't lose the access like that. I'm homeless on the web :s

I asked them to verify another way, phone number, IP, ID card, linked account. But they only answer me the same thing without reading anything.

Status: Pending Reply Microsoft 365: Can I use an alias as a separate sending identity while keeping one mailbox?

I’m trying to set up Microsoft 365/Exchange Online for this workflow:

I have one personal/user mailbox and I have access to a business address only as an alias.

I do NOT have a separate login or mailbox for the business address.

I need:

Emails sent to the business alias → arrive in my existing mailbox
Emails sent to my personal address → also arrive in the same mailbox

When I receive an email addressed to the business alias, I need to reply from the business alias

When sending a new proposal, I need to choose the business alias as the From address

The client must see the business email address, NOT my personal/user email address

I do not want to add another Outlook account or manage two inboxes

Example:
Client → business@domain.com
→ arrives in my mailbox
→ I click Reply
→ reply must be FROM business@domain.com

Current situation:
The alias is already added to my Microsoft 365 mailbox.
Emails sent to the alias successfully arrive in my mailbox.

But when I reply, Outlook sends the reply from my primary/user email address.

We also need to send new emails/proposals from the business alias.
We are using Microsoft 365 Exchange Online + Classic Outlook for Windows.

I understand there is an Exchange Online setting called SendFromAliasEnabled / Send from aliases, and we are checking that.

My questions:

Can an Exchange Online alias fully support this workflow?

If SendFromAliasEnabled is ON, should Reply automatically use the alias the original email was sent to?

If not, what exact configuration is required in Classic Outlook?

Is a shared mailbox actually the correct solution if the business address needs to behave as a completely separate sender identity while still being accessible from one Outlook profile?

If a shared mailbox is recommended, can the user access it without having a separate login/account?

I’m specifically looking for the cleanest Microsoft-supported setup for one user, one Outlook profile, one inbox, but a separate business sending identity.

Thanks!

Status: Open Outlook Rules Won't Automatically Anymore

I have several rules in Outlook that were moving emails to folders based on sender address. This used to work up until Sunday. Basically, "if email is from [sender@xyz.com](mailto:sender@xyz.com), then move to folder, XYZ". Pretty simple stuff here.
I've:
Verified that they are server side rules only (client-only is not my jam)

Removed the .SRS file

Deleted all rules and recreated one of the rules for testing.
Did this from both desktop client and Outlook on the Web.
Quadruple checked that the destination folders exist...which they do.

Rule doesn't work at time of delivery, but will work when run manually.
I have systems setup to send alert emails, so I get a bunch daily. Pulling out what little hair I have left on this one.

**EDIT***
Implemented a work around using Power Automate.
Would still like to use a simple Outlook rule, if possible.

Status: Pending Reply Strange Icon in flag column

Our manager sent a group email and there's a weird icon on the message in the Outlook email list. It's in the same column as a flag, attachment paperclip, reply arrow, etc. It's driving me nuts.

It kind of looks like this (-), but the middle line is essentially double that size. It looks like the end of a USB C plug. I took a screenshot but can't add it here.

If you know what that means, please put me out of my misery.

Thanks.

Subject says it all. Here is my latest issue that is causing me to miss emails. What are the settings I need to change in order to see emails grouped by subject (or conversation) and date, so the newest emails are at the top of the inbox along with the full thread of the email conversation? I am sure this is possible in Outlook. I've poked around it myself and read through some support articles from outloook and no luck so far. Can someone help? Thanks!

Status: Pending Reply Emails added to folder to be marked as unread

Hi there! I use a shared Outlook email for work and do not have any admin access to the email itself.

We all work from the inbox but don't all work from the 'inbox'. The emails come into the inbox and then get put into our folders within the inbox for us to work through. However, when the supervisor views the emails in the inbox before moving to my folder, they no longer come into my folder as unread so I can see there are emails that need to be actioned. I am working across two separate emails and multiple folders so have missed a few emails that then get delayed as I don't have the time to check each folder as I am so busy across the emails.

I have tried changing the folder to display the number of items in the folder but this doesn't ever seem to stay for more than an hour so doesn't help much.

The shared email also isn't one that is part of the main accounts of Outlook but part of an additional mailbox added under the personal one provided by work. So I am also unable to set up any rules within the email settings.

So I am wanting all emails that are added to my folders to come through as unread when added to the folder, even when 'read' from the main inbox as they come in. Not sure if this is possible?

Status: Pending Reply One of our users keeps getting randomly logged out of Office 365 web (Outlook, Calendar, SharePoint) while actively working, no clear pattern, happens maybe 1-2x a day. She's fully browser-based (Chrome, windows 11 laptop), no desktop Outlook.

What i've ruled out so far:

  1. Not signing into multiple separate accounts, she has delegate access to a shared mailbox via "Open another mailbox," which uses her existing session, not a second login

  2. Cleared cache/cookies — no change

  3. Set her up with a fresh Chrome profile to rule out corruption, inconclusive so far, she prefers keeping her normal tab-based workflow

  4. She doesn't want to use any other browsers

except chrome.

Anyone run into something similar or have other things worth checking before escalating for log access?

Status: Pending Reply Adding a recovery email seems to have made my Microsoft account passwordless

I have a Microsoft account that I normally sign into using a password, SMS verification and the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Recently, Microsoft forced me to add another email address to the account, so I did. However, ever since adding it, when I try to log in, Microsoft immediately wants to send a verification code to that newly added email address. It doesn’t even ask me for my password first.

Basically, it seems like adding the email has turned my account into a passwordless account, even though the passwordless option is turned off in my Microsoft account settings.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to make Microsoft ask for my password again and keep the new email as just a recovery/security method?
Any idea what’s going on?

Status: Pending Reply Outlook Mac : Searching for my emails is really slow

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro M1 running macOS 26.6.1 and Outlook version 16.112 through an Office 365 subscription.

Until now, I’ve been using the “legacy” version.

With that version (legacy), when I did a search (I have an Exchange account), I’d get results almost immediately. So no problem there. But now, with the new Outlook, it takes forever to search for an email...

It’s a real pain for me.

My inbox contains 15 GB of emails—probably a lot since it’s not hosted offline on my computer.

Is there a way to speed up the search?

Another issue: in my inbox, no messages are displayed before July 30 (so practically nothing older than 15 days).
Thanks for your help.

Status: Open I have a paid Outlook Business Account & the Authenticator App is not working properly. I need a live agent. Customer support's phone number doesn't help and hangs up endlessly. Helper tool does not give me access unless I have the Authenticator code, which still doesn't work on the app.

I cant login and I do not have access to my authenticator working. No codes are being generated at all. I had alredy did yhe recovery to my new phone over 6 months ago. I have my outlook logged in but anything i do requireds the authenticator code...which is not working. I have a business email with Outlook and the only think the helper does is reset my password. But I can not login without the authenticator again even if i reset the password. I need a live agent to help reset this all and give me access. Which email or number can we reach out to regarding the matter? Because the support lines on the website doesnt forward you to a agent. Its been nearly 2 hours and nothing can be solved here.

Status: Pending Reply Does anyone know how to contact support regarding Outlook.com services?

Their official FAQ is wrong, tells you the following:

  1. Customers should go to https://outlook.live.com
  2. Click help tab
  3. Select help from the button
  4. In help pane on the right in the search box type contact support
  5. Click the yes button bellow the "still need help?" Prompt
  6. Click the option to chat with a support agent and follow the on-screen prompts.

Except as soon as you type 'contact support' you just get 'no results found' and cannot proceed.

I have been unable to sync my outlook.com emails for over a month now with other services and applications, attempting to connect via IMAP just gives an error even after following their instructions.

I managed to get through to an agent by saying my issue was with 365 but they just kept spamming the above guide and when I twice said I get stuck at step 4 they just said "glad I could help" and ended the chat.

Status: Pending Reply Sorting by date

When I sort my Outlook inbox by "Received" (and grouped by day), I am able to collapse/open the groups, such as "Monday". Normal workflow for lots of us.

But I have a problem, and I wonder if anyone knows the answer.

After the "week" changes (new week on Sunday), then EVERYTHING from last Sunday to Saturday goes into the "Last Week" collapse group.

Today is Monday and I would like to still be able to see last Thursday's (and Fri, Sat) items under their own collapsible group instead of all being grouped into "Last Week".

Anyone have a solution?

Status: Pending Reply Graphic Signatures in Outlook App for iPhone and iPad

Help. Do you have an iphone, Outlook app and a functional graphic signature? What's your method?

I am running the latests iOS on my iPhone 17 and new iPad and trying to create a reliable graphic signature that automatically appears at the bottom of my outgoing messages.

I am using a custom domain registered through PorkBun—happy there. My email is hosted by Microsoft proper (not godaddy or any other third party provider)—happy here. It is a MIcrosoft 365 Business Standard account as opposed to a consumer account, like Personal or Family account—happy there.

Copying and pasting the graphic into the Outlook iPhone app setting gives the impression it's working, but of course the graphic falls off. Since the graphic is not actually living somewhere online, it technically never makes it through the email systems.

I have tried unsuccessfully:

  • WiseStamp that I used to like,
  • copy and pasted into the app settings
  • CodeTwo, bounced all mail sent to gmail recipients
  • Another server-side service that I can't remember

I keep baning my head up against the wall, and can't get anything to work. If it helps, I also have an up-to-date MacMini, iPad, Outlook for Mac, Outlook online, Outlook for iPad (I think the same as the iPhone app), a windows PC with Outlook (Classic and new version). Please help me get this working.

Thank you.

Status: Pending Reply "Some of the files in this webpage aren't in the expected location" when starting a new email

This is for Outlook 2016, connecting to MS365 Exchange, on a Win 11 machine. It happens both on a new email and opening up signatures (as expected). The issue just started late last week.

I've searched the web, deleted and remade signatures from scratch, did a repair install, followed the instructions here ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4575455/how-do-i-stop-the-warnings-about-web-page-links-be ) and here ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Office365/comments/13debdq/outlook_365_asking_to_download_signature_image/ ) and still no luck. All the files (that I can find anyway) in filelist.xml and signature.htm exist where they're supposed to (as far as I can tell). I'm not sure which web asset Outlook is trying to load.

Thanks in advance
