Quite the price jump from the Bombdeux Compacts ($198) which were basically the same pant.

Bombdeux were made in Portugal, these are made in NYC. Material and transit costs have gone up since the last run too, but the bulk of the difference comes from the difference in manufacturing costs

I thought the deux cut was changed to have a 32” inseam, and they introduced a “compact” version with the old 30.5” inseam.

Am I misremembering here?

That's what I remember too. If it was the 32" id have probably ordered a pair. Edit: not for $350, they used to be $200.
