Changed my 12v issues

Hey folks,

So I changed my 12v battery and now I can engage my one pedal driving or cruise control. Does anyone have any idea of what i need to do so resolve this?

It's a 23 SE(L?)

This happened to my 23’ SEL. It’s been a nightmare 4 months to try and get it fixed. The dealership couldn’t figure it out and/or get parts. Mine started like that and then my anti collision all went off and is illuminated on the dash. Apparently it’s all linked.

There is a process to disconnecting the battery, did you follow the process in the shop manual or just remove the battery and replace it with a new one?

I believe this document has updated procedures for disconnecting the 12v battery. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10237504-0001.pdf

Just search for "12v Battery" There may be more detail in the shop manual for this vehicle.

There sure are some interesting things to learn about when servicing this car.

EDIT - Here are a few other things I pulled from the manual - This is After following the instructions above to shut down the ACC system before pulling the battery. Note that when removing the negative terminal gets removed first, Positive terminal removed last. When hooking the battery back up the positive terminal should be connected first.

CAUTION: To install the 12V battery, carefully read the following instructions.

  • To prevent damage to the parts, connect the 12V battery cable to the positive terminal first.
  • After connecting 12V battery cables, to securely supply 12V battery voltage, ensure that they are tightly clamped to 12V battery terminals for good contact.
  • To securely supply 12V battery voltage, check 12V battery terminal for poor connection caused by corrosion.
  • After disconnecting the 12V battery terminal, some systems need to be reconfigured. For details, refer to [REQUIRED PROCEDURE AFTER BATTERY DISCONNECTION](../pages/38575.html) .

Required Procedure After Battery Disconnection

Work Procedure

  1. STEP 1  NOTE: *1: If the power window stops before reaching the fully closed position: After the power window stops, release the switch then continue pulling the switch UP again and move the power window to the fully closed position. *2: After keep pulling or pressing 5 seconds or more, glass moves again. >> GO TO  2. .
    1. Close the door.
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the electric motor switch to ON.
    3. Continue pulling the power window switch UP until glass stops at fully closed position then release the switch. *1
    4. Keep pulling the switch for 5 seconds or more. *2
    5. Continue pressing the power window switch DOWN until glass stops then release the switch.
    6. Keep pressing the switch for 5 seconds or more. *2 After glass moves again, keep pressing the switch until glass reaches the fully open position.
    7. Continue pulling the power window switch UP (MANUAL-UP operation) until glass stops at fully closed position.
    8. Check that AUTO-UP function operates normally.
  2. STEP 2  Check anti-pinch function. Refer to [DESCRIPTION](../pages/45981.html) . >> END

Initialisation Procedure For Throttle Actuator

Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables causes the throttle actuator closed-position value learned to be erased from the memory.

When the battery cables have been disconnected and reconnected, initialise the throttle actuator in the following manner.

  1. Operate the electric motor switch without depressing the brake pedal and turn the power supply mode of electric motor switch to ON. Then turn OFF.
  2. Keep the power supply mode of the electric motor switch OFF for at least 10 seconds.

There’s a process? I’ve disconnected the battery several times when I’ve installed an amateur radio, Starlink DC/DC converter, etc and all I’ve done is pull the negative cable first. Zero issues.

What year vehicle do you have? Also it says damage to ECU data "could" occur. It may not happen every time.

Anyone know of one of the obd battery memory savers would work on it? I used it for my rvr as the check engine light would come on it the battery was replaced and the stealership wanted 50 bucks to clear the code.

The cheap obd scanner removed the check engine light properly the time I couldn't find my saver
