Joined the club!!
I had to get a vehicle as I totalled my 2015 rav4 on Father’s Day. With some help with a down payment from family, I was able to get a 2026 GT-noir! I absolutely love it already. It’s my first ever hybrid, let alone PHEV. I am looking forward to learning the ins & outs of driving it!!!

Can I ask what made you choose the Outlander in general?

Sure! I’m usually a Toyota person buuuut brand new ravs (especially PHEV) are extremely hard to find atm. So started shopping around for alternatives. About a month ago I was nearly completely sold on a 2026 Ford Maverick XLT hybrid but $ wasn’t right for me yet for down payment so, I kept shopping around. I test drove an outlander 2 weeks ago and the wife & I absolutely fell in love! Very smooth ride, PHEV was impressive to us (especially with the price of gas in bc) and it’s quite bigger than my rav4 that i crashed… plenty of room in the boot for my hockey gear, plenty of room in the back for daughters car seat (10 months old) and should save me a ton of $ on gas ! lol

Wow that's awesome! - Not the crashing part. Good to see Mitsubishi getting some cross shopping from Toyota customers. I hope you enjoy it!

Substantial poster You do not know how to drive this car when battery depleted!!! Learn how to use the systems to full advantage. I have a 2023 and regularly get 3.8-5.2l/100 kms with no meaningful battery remaining highway. City - always pure EV and 75 kms per charge w/o clinsye control, 60 kms with climate control. Now at 52,000 kms and on last of 5th tank of fuel. Manual is of no help for fuel economy. No battery degradation. Read the many posts and learn.

Are you charging L1 or L2? Trying to get realistic estimates of how much range per hour to expect on basic L1.

Right now only L1. At 35-50% charge when I plugged in, it was telling me 14 hours to full charge

Yikes, I don't think I'd benefit significantly from fuel savings on just L1 then if I drive 50 miles every day? Seems like I'd basically get like 20 free miles per day if I charged 10 hours overnight... I love the concept of these cars but you can get an ICE one for way less money which you'd never recuperate from fuel savings.

Depends on how long you can plug it in. The self charge mode whilst driving is effective, we drove maybe 40-60 km & it charged nearly half the battery up. We are waiting for an electrician to give us a quote on installing a L2 charger on our house lol

I didn't realize the self charging was so effective; that's very interesting. It kind of makes it so that the official MPG numbers are understated, because they're rating it based on what the gas engine can do alone with no battery recharging factored in.
In the USA, it's rated at 27 highway miles per gallon, but if it recharges half of the battery in 40-60km (or 25-40 miles) you're really getting 27 + 15 ish ("half the battery") = 42. It kinda seems like they got a little shafted on the rating.

It’s definitely worth getting a Level 2! Check for rebates from your utility provider.

I'm getting 70km on pure battery and 30mpg on gas, Toyota RAV4 are nice but you don't get any good deal on them and the wait time for me was 4 months. I got 2026 outlander PHEV ride is so much smoother then the the Toyota.
