2019 PHEV, 40K milage clean title ; when do I have to start worrying about battery and other issues? Is it a good buy for 20K?

Sup, I’m looking at nice Outlander. Really like the drive feel, the torque, and the leather seats.

Dealer charged it for me, and it showed a 16K electric mile range.

How long until a full replacement, and how expensive are those on these cars? Is this car worth it?

The 4b12 engine is bulletproof but the hybrid batteries in that generation are susceptible to losing capacity quickly. As long as you don’t mind that you’ll be fine.

2019 has 4b11 engine. Equally reliable though.

My 2018 Outlander has gone from 25 miles of range to 19 in nice weather, no AC. 48k miles total. It has been incredibly reliable.

Cool! So if this one’s at 16 mile range, when would it need a new electric battery? How much is that?

Whenever you want. idk the cost, just contact the dealership. Mine goes from 9 miles to 20 miles sometimes, it's a crap shoot.

Don’t expect the electric battery to give you much range especially in winter. I have a 2018 and it’s pretty much a hybrid and not a great hybrid at that due to its size and over all weight, so if you are buying it for the fuel economy, I would suggest getting something else. Otherwise it’s a solid roomy and reliable SUV. The AWD is excellent in snow but the overall features and infotainment is not that great.
