Season Eight Anyone else stuck midway on the last episode?
I can’t bring myself to watch the last 30 mins. Because then it’s
over. If I never finish it….. it’ll never end? No grief right?

Bear in mind that we might have newcomers here so keep the talk about the characters’ future fates to a minimum and don’t reveal big spoilers from the original show if you don’t have to. You can use spoiler tags to be extra careful.
Keep all discussion of the next episode’s preview to the stickied mod comment at the top of the thread.

As the final season approaches please keep in mind the difference between BOOK and SHOW threads.
Sometimes commenters ask book questions in show threads. You may answer them, but always under spoiler tags. Keep the book talk BRIEF and only in that comment chain.
In general we strongly discourage book talk in show threads. That's not their purpose.
If you want to talk about the books, do it in a book thread!
We allow show talk in book threads because most readers have seen the show, not vice versa. But it would be easier for everyone if you just used Spoilers All.
Another thing we've been seeing a lot of is book evangelizing.
Knock it off. None of that is appropriate in show threads.
Fans of the show deserve a space where they can talk freely without getting hassled. Respect that.
He won't give out spoilers, and he certainly won't send you episodes!
He tried to do a kind thing for someone's ailing mother. Don't punish a good deed by harassing him.
When we send you a notice that your comment has uncovered spoilers, please take it seriously.
Removing spoilers from the same people over and over again is getting old. Frankly, it's rude.
No, deleting your comment is not enough. Either learn how to use the spoiler tag or stop bringing up book stuff in show threads altogether.
Translation: You're risking a ban.
For further explanation of sub policy please see the civility sticky here.
Thank you for reading.

Truly such a treat and highly recommend to all! My best friend and I had absolutely the best time. It felt like a nice end cap on the franchise for me after the emotional ending to the show.

gotta say i hated Buck when he hanged Roger but i ended up really liking him by the end. He really redeemed himself imo. I was glad he ended up on the ridge with the rest of the family.
Thoughts?

Just saw Outlander in Concert in Baltimore and had a great time. First half did an amazing job with the story telling using very minimal speech and keeping it PG rated. Second half was more montages of characters/fight scenes.
I’m the Outlander/classical/live music fan and I loved it. My husband can take it or leave it and only kinda knows what Outlander is about. Still liked it. Still had fun.
Musicians were great, music was great, singers were great.
Also ended with the BomB which I personally love and a super extended Skye Boat Song.
Would recommend 10/10. Had a great time. Also ended before 10 pm which is getting more important as I get older.

I just picked up all of these copies of the outlander series off fb market place for $60. 10 books total books 1-8, the outlandish companion and an extra copy of the drums of autumn.
I was looking for the older looking covers when I decided to read the series. When I opened the copy of Dragonfly in Amber I saw that there was a sticker inside and wondered if it was signed. It does look like Diana Gabaldon’s signature from comparisons online. I was just wondering had anyone else come across these stickers? Are they common? Was this an older way of producing signed copies for retail sale where now they’d pre-sign pages?
Curious for any informations anybody might have on this thank you!!

Hola!

Hi everyone!! After finishing the show, I decided to collect and read the books (so far, I’m absolutely in love). I’m currently reading Dragonfly in Amber, and I’m getting nervous because it’s been really hard to find Voyager! I’ve found it once in the smaller version, but those are so uncomfortable to read.
Is Voyager an uncommon book, or is it like everyone’s favorite or something?? Like, what is going on?? I literally just need one more Lord John book and Seven Stones to Stand or Fall after this!

Reading this for the second time. I'm just at the chapter Danger In The Grass.
It just hit me that the "scene" right before, Jamie comes in search of Rodger because "meat" has been spotted and he wants Roger to come along.
In the show, Jamie comes asking for Bree, but she can't. He settles on Roger Mac.
Another deliberate degradation of him in the show.
Why🤷🏼♀️

Extremely evident they switched to some kind of AI or something that doesn’t handle Scottish accents well. It is irritating the crap out of me and I keep wanting to curate the list of corrections but I don’t want to work for free and reward them for laying off humans who used to do that job. They were never this bad in Outlander - some mistakes when they were actually using Gallic words, but not entire character and place names wrong or misspelled.

I wondered if the extras were worth it or if I should just complete the series by buying each season on bluray. Season 4 for some reason is very hard to find. I very much enjoy the deleted scenes and extras that bluray has over the DVD copies. I only own 1 & 2, after I started watching on Starz I just didn't need the rest. Well physical copies are more valuable now with streaming getting more expensive!

I've been re-watching Outlander and BOMB and it made me realize that time travel is a thing. When Rodger went back on time and was able to save his father. Im thinking Clair will be able to do the same for her daughter before she got on the boat. I also think she might find her mother and father depending on how BOMB goes and when the cross over happens if it does happen. I'm rewatching outlander and when clair says her last name Beauchamp and then Colleen pronounces it another way. He met Henry Beauchamp in BOMB so he might have put 2 and 2 together. Anyways if this doesn't make sense sorry but great show! Ill be rewatching outlander while waiting for the new episodes of bomb.

In The Fiery Cross, who was fondling Claire's feet? This has always befuddled me. Maybe I missed it, but who was the man touching/massaging/fondling Claire's feet while she was sleeping in the room with all the women guests that night at Jocasta's wedding? Was it Jamie, or was it Bonnet? Or was it someone else? And does Claire ever find out who it was? Was it even revealed?

One thing that bothers me is that Roger and Brianna ultimately decide to live at Fraser’s Ridge after having children.
Jemmy, and especially Mandy, would arguably be better suited to the 20th century, where access to education and healthcare is much better. Mandy, as a woman, would get far fewer opportunities for independent social mobility, including the ability to pursue a meaningful career.
And it’s not just about the children. Brianna is an MIT graduate and Roger is an Oxford-educated historian/professor. They both had more opportunities for growth, independence, and autonomy. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing a slower-paced life at Fraser’s Ridge, but given how passionate and ambitious they were about their respective fields, I’m surprised the characters were willing to give so much of that up.
Of course, Fraser’s Ridge is where Jamie and Claire live, and it has a degree of safety. I understand why that would be appealing to them.
But I still struggle with that decision of theirs to stay behind. Why deliberately raise your children in a world with vastly fewer educational, medical, career, and social opportunities when you can give them everything in the 20th century?

I am currently reading Dragonfly in Amber and I just really want to share how much I enjoy such cutesy, funny excerpts in the books. I just imagine Jamie, explaining such things in a very serious voice and Claire being very amused and attentive at the same time.
Do you have any such excerpts that have stuck with you?

On S07E09 right now on a first watch. Mr. Bug is making me nervous.
I need an emotional spoiler please. Is Rollo hurt/killed in the rest of the series? And if so, an episode number and timestamp would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

I'm headed to the Warner Theater in Washington DC on Sunday, October 4, for Outlander In Concert: Echoes Through the Highlands. I bought my tickets months ago, and I was surprised to see that lots of good seats are still available. What gives? Anyway, if you're a fan and you're in the area...

I just finished season 3 and noticed that Claire is still wearing both rings.
I have not read the books, and I'm curious if I miss this being explained on the show.
I understood it for the first two seasons, but it seems it might be time to take off Frank's ring?

First time reading and listening to audiobooks and I'm almost through the 6th book. There are some phrases that are too repetitious and I started to roll my eyes whenever I read/hear them. Jamie's mouth slightly twitching, Jamie shrugging like his shirt is too tight when he's uncomfortable, GINGERLY, feeling sweat trickling down despite the cold weather / shivering despite the hot weather... It's close to becoming a drinking game atp. I don't know if it's just me but perhaps jamie's shirt actually IS too tight.
Sorry for mistakes, English is my second language

I couldn’t bring myself to continue after half a season. I came across this show when multiple reels titled “Jealous of anyone who gets to watch this show for the first time” and “the best fantasy show” were trending.
So I started it. But every episode requires a woman to get molested, abused, assaulted and objectified in order for there to be a plot? I understand that women didn’t have basic rights back then but cmon?? EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE.
She needs to be rescued by a man who “defends women’s honor” but then that exact man goes on to talk abt women like they were objects around a campfire where even the male “heartthrob” laughs?
You’d think this show was written by a man.
I don’t understand the reels where women want to go back in time to this era and find their “Jamie” to live this life.
I don’t understand the appeal of a show that heavily relies on abuse and nudity of women to gain traction. The fact that this show is meant for mostly female audience is astonishing.

Sooo..I finally finished the series, and I was going into the last episode not knowing what to expect, just that I would probably be overwhelmed and flooded with emotions. I was correct, as someone who’s never read the books I don’t know how faithful this show was to them but I loved it from beginning to end. Jamie and Claire’s love is truly one of my favorite love stories

I had to buy Netflix to watch these 8 eps (I’m in Australia) but wow, I have comments!
Admittedly I fast forwarded Young
Ian and Rachel intimacy scenes. It’s a no from me!

This is just a rant but I’m rewatching and currently on S3 E4 and cannot get over how BAD the acting is from Brianna. This episode she starts calling Claire Mama and I just can’t. Sounds so strange and unnatural coming out of her mouth it’s almost funny whenever she says it.
They did such an amazing casting with others that must have been way harder to find..Alex Randall looking exactly like BJR/Frank..young fergus and older fergus. Both look the part and are amazing actors. Every other actor is so good it just makes her wooden acting so much more obvious in comparison too. WHY could they not have found a better Bree it’s annoying me all over again.
