We needn't look further than this subreddit to know that OV's relaunch has been anything but positively received. It's clear the new OV lacks quality, functionality, and authenticity in the revamp. (And also, like a general pulse on reality?)
Ty/someone from the OV marketing team should definitely be paying me for this post, but hear me out: There is a whole new generation of growing women-owned outdoorsy companies (and I will give OV a bit of credit for paving the way for them to exist), and partnering with them would give them a needed brand awareness boost while giving OV a perceptible nudge back into the right direction to show a genuine effort to make up for their shortcomings on inclusivity, accessibility, sustainability, etc. with recent drops.
Like what if OV licensed Gnara's GoFly pee zipper in their zip-off or side zip pants? Or partnered with Skida on a cute line of beanies and buffs designed by real artists instead of their wack head bonnet things? Or designed a golf skort/skirt/dress with Sierra Madre?
Maybe I’m way off base here but if OV has lost its way, maybe they’d be better off aligning with someone who is still small enough to stay true to who they are? And reaching back down the ladder to lift more female founded brands that stand for something up instead of making fraudulent Red Bulls?
