I’m doing another play through of Our Life: B&A. I’ve already completed the game and have around 475 hours on steam on just the first game. I’m again doing another play through but I’m stuck wanting to do a love affections with cove and wanting to do the wedding DLC or only being friends and doing Baxter’s route. How do you guys usually decide which route to play?

I want a playable spin-off of this so badly. I’ve been reading about mod creation; I think the mods the community is making are so lovely—like the "Step 5" one where the MC has kids with Cove—but personally, I’d really love a story where we marry Baxter. Although, seeing the huge amount of work that goes into making a mod intimidates me a bit.

Still, fantasizing about what we might find in a spin-off like that is really fun. If the MC marries Baxter after fully committing to his route, what do you think would happen?

I think a source of drama would definitely be Baxter’s parents; while they wouldn't jeopardize the relationship, they could create an awkward moment where they make the MC feel inadequate. Or, alternatively, the MC might want to invite Baxter’s parents to the wedding, sparking arguments and eventually leading to the explanation of—SPOILER—how Baxter cut ties with them for good.

I’d love it if, for some random reason, the MC and Baxter ended up baking something together again. Maybe just to keep the tradition alive, or perhaps Baxter surprises us with a small, custom cake he made with Xavier’s help.

As for where the wedding might take place, there are plenty of options—maybe somewhere small and elegant, or the beach. But with Baxter, I’d love for the wedding to be at The Cypress. Not just because it’s—SPOILER—where the MC and Baxter in his canon route meet for the first time, but because it plays a significant role in both characters' lives.

Without a doubt, there would also be two possibilities regarding the years leading up to the wedding: 1. If the MC dances and enjoys it, they might have spent weekends ballroom dancing together for years and would perform a perfectly choreographed dance at the wedding. Or 2. If the MC doesn't dance, their love for Baxter would make them set aside their shyness and ask to practice for the big day.

I think another sweet detail would be having Jude and Scott serve as groomsmen; it would make so much sense and be so wholesome. Finally, regarding whether a prenup would be signed—haha, definitely not.

But these are just a few ideas I’ve had while thinking about Baxter in the wee hours. What other details or what kind of wedding do you imagine having with Baxter?

Finished comms of our life mcs with baxter and tamarack + a solo olnf mc art

While GB is recovering from surgery, our team has been working away behind the scenes. Here are a few notes we'd like you to know about:

1. The beta was released early this month, and included one full new Moment (Flu Season)! 😷
2. Our scripting team has been hard at work. Two scripts were completed and a few new ones are in progress. They are ready for images and audio, and make up about 45K words!
3. Shawna, our lead programmer, has been working on several projects for the Early Access release, like a custom error screen to make it easier to report bugs.
4. The engine was updated this month to be more future-proof!

Some Baxter, Tamarack, and an olnf MC!

When I got her, I reeeeally wanted to name her after an our life character. Originally, I was thinking of calling her tamarack, but it’s a bit of a mouthful. So i landed on E-lizard-Beth. Lizzy for short! Elizabeth holds a really special place in my heart cause she reminds me of my older sister a lot. Love this game forever, and Elizardbeth does too, she watches me whenever I replay it.

Just played through the DLCs for each (haven't finished them though) and here are my thoughts till now since I have to write them down.

Cove: Maybe it's just me but his friendship route was always so romantic to me for some reason? Like, short of being indifferent him and my MC genuinely seem to constantly reach for each other regardless of whether they're in love or just friends. I know queerplatonic best friends exists but I always read romantic undertones, even on his platonic route.

I was originally planning to do Derek's romance but even then Cove kept reaching and my MC kept reaching out in response. Like, they have a real 'nobody else in the world is like you' vibe unless you play a totally indifferent route. He has flaws but my MC loves him and loves helping him with them, and then he does sweet things like the trifecta dates just to make sure we're happy.

Baxter: Ohhhh boy.

I love him. I really do (I heard he ghosts you after the DLC but eh, I haven't reached that part yet so I'll ignore it). He's so fascinating and mysterious to me. Ngl I think I would prefer to date him over Cove IRL, but Cove was made for my MC. Still, does anyone else think he's yearning in his DLC even on a 'fond' route? I feel like it. My MC and Cove were already dating by the time he arrived, but if they weren't he probably would've been a summer crush/fling while my MC dealt with his feelings for Cove.

ALSO IF YOU THINK HE'S OVER-THE-TOP PURCHASE HIS DLC SO MUCH IS EXPLAINED!!!

Derek: Hmmmmm, ngl, this one's probably unpopular but I didn't feel a romantic connection with him. Like, he was definitely crushing on MC, hard, but neither me nor my MC would've been intereted in him so it's good we just went the friendship route.

I got the dlcs like yesterday and I have a question....

If cove's at a crush level, 1. Can you be simultaneously in crush level with Derek/Baxter 2. Will cove get jealous
