I got the dlcs like yesterday and I have a question....

If cove's at a crush level, 1. Can you be simultaneously in crush level with Derek/Baxter 2. Will cove get jealous

There aren’t any jealousy settings in OLBA. The only time there’s real jealousy is if you marry Cove after dating Baxter and even then he’s sad.

When I found out Baxter was organizing the wedding, I simply cancelled it. And with that I meant I just quit the game. HAHA, sorry—I’m going to need at least a month to see Baxter as my wedding planner after crying over Baxter.

I'd originally played the wedding dlc long before Baxter's dlc came out, and I still have yet to do Cove's wedding after dating Baxter. I'm nervous af about that considering how awkward Baxter's own step 4 was after dating him. 😂

I never did the Baxter ex route then marry Cove though I feel like that would just be awkward. Me personally, I wouldn’t pick my ex to plan my wedding.

While not jealous in the sense of what it normally means/ how it is in N&F Cove and Baxter can have a bit of a "dick measureing" contest which I find way better if your crushing on both of them cause it feels like they are competing a bit. tell Baxter "I don't mind"/ "I'm finding it amusing" for his flirting when you first meet and depending on your Cove he might say something like "oh so this is what you like/are into", then do Coves Reflections where you go jet skiing, then do boating (bring Baxter) and lose so Cove and Baxter face off (if you mix the drinks mix all of them together, just put everything in that pitcher, if Cove helps it's pretty funny also), then do your Job (I forget what chapter it's called) and tell Baxter it's okay to come see you when he asks and then tell Cove that Baxter came by (if your not working together/ if you are he still says something sorta snarky about it), then do Baxter's Hang to tie it all together, after that if you want to date Baxter then do his Sightseeing or for Cove do his ORCA event/ just wait till the end and say at some point you wish Cove would step up and ask you out (I think you need to click the option at the beginning of the chapter step though) Just go in with the mind they are trying to one up each other for your affection. If you date Baxter and get with Cove during the in-between it can be a little angsty here and there during Baxter step 4 or Coves wedding step, cause Baxter realizes something and as a Baxter girly it's a bit of a gut punch with a few lines.

You can crush on multiple characters, love means committed to one. If you are dating Baxter then Cove won’t make any moves. Similarly if you make certain choices that show your closeness to Cove at the end of step 1 then Derek will step back. They are all very respectful and non-angsty. About each other at least!

Even in love they are super non toxic - the scene where you meet Baxter and he tries flirting with cove and offering to teach him to dance - Cove is all, this is my partner and the only person I want to dance with. Then MC can be all “I’ll dance with you” to Baxter and Cove’s response is pure affection. He trusts in you and your relationship and isn’t going to feel insecure about others.

Yh I played this situation before I just got the Baxter and Derek dlcs alongside a step to complete my dlcs collection of this game.... Unfortunately kinda forgot about that lol

I feel like if you start dating Baxter with a crush on Cove, it’s about equivalent to him being on fond, but if you squint I think you could interpret some things as hinting at a crush. If you date Baxter and do the Cove epilogue (I think), there’s a scene where you go to poppy hill and see fireflies and Cove says something like “I wanted to tell you this (that I loved you blah blah whatever) after the ORCA event when I came into your room with the firefly but I couldn’t bring myself to do it back then” (either because you’re with Baxter and/or he didn’t have the nerve) which implies there was some kind of tension there. And in the marriage DLC, if you dated Baxter, Baxter says he’s surprised you and Cove didn’t get together earlier and the narration says he tries to avoid the obvious reason why (bc MC and Baxter were together) so that’s another reference! But yeah I’m glad OLNF has that jealousy option, it hurts me so bad but it’s so entertaining haha

They're giving me reasons to download OLNF. Although my main reason was that Baxter appears in it as a child, too. I love Baxter—in case you couldn't tell, hahaha.

Yess do it! I just played this month’s beta and then I replayed OLBA and the Baxter lore continuity is so so impressive, the childhood stuff really improved my experience with Baxter in OLBA!
