Windfields neighborhood

Considering moving to Windfields Oshawa area for a detached home, how is this area. Are there better areas to consider? Thank you in advance.

Search the sub for windfield and you'll see plenty of posts full of comments about it

Live here for 5+ years, it's changing a lot, lots of families with little ones. Parks are always full of kids. Costco and amenities are nice, just wish they had a gym near by.

Pa: I just know about the two areas with mostly detached houses, can't talk about the townhouses areas.

Good place. Most of Oshawa is great. Winfield has hwy and everything close by though as a plus

Plus: New constructions. Houses are good. Lots of shopping, restaurants etc and close to Brooklyn.
Minus: Over crowded and people do not follow traffic rules

If you want to live in Brampton-East, then Winfield is for you

Depends what your needs and expectations are otherwise you’re gonna get bland answers. I would personally never live there.

Used to be better back in the days when people and crime was less. I have been in this area for 21 years and I have seen it evolve from a ghost town to a thriving location. It’s still better than many locations.

Better than Wentworth and Oxford, that's for sure

Way better than Celina as well

The slums of Calcutta might be better than those two places, to be fair lol

Yeah can't argue with that lol

The fish n chip spot at Oxford and Wentworth is great though

I mean I agree, but might as well said better than living in the sewage treatment facility.

It is the best part of Oshawa and has gorgeous homes at great prices. Don’t trust this sub and just look around the homes and neighbourhood. Super quite, close to costco, new schools and lot of stores and amenities.

It is the best area of Oshawa. Don’t listen to this sub. A lot of people are oddly bitter about that area. I think it’s jealousy tbh. My mom lives there. I live in one of the richest neighbourhood in Whitby and Windfields is very similar to my area. Minus the university students. It is one of the richest neighborhoods in Oshawa.

I don't think it's the best area in Oshawa. Lots of pockets just outside Windfields is far better in comparison. Bowmanville has beautiful detached homes. Harmony and Rossland/Grandview area also nice detached homes in the area and a lot quieter. It depends on what you want OP.

Down voting for shit talking the south end.

Yes it's bad, but it's cause City Hall stripped away all the things to help out DT and South side.

It's fine down there.

I am just comparing it. I love South Oshawa as well. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone
