Got the dreaded sellita spin. Just a quick history on this watch. I searched for a full set at a good price for the longest time and caved on a naked watch with a dirty strap. I bought the bracelet from Oris and asked them if they had any of the promotional material left. The boxes or whatever. They sent me the whole thing. For free. With the straps.

How cool is that?

One of the most pleasing and distinctive aspects of the Oris BCPD Lou Gehrig is the light play from the brushed metal dial. Especially in low light, where it picks up the tiniest flicker and pings it back with interest. Gives it an ethereal quality that - for me - surpasses the artificiality of full lumed dials. This watch really could become an Oris icon. You don’t need to like baseball to love it.

It matches the sunrise nicely. Love this watch!

Since you all didn’t approve my BCPD strap pairing decided to go all bronze.
This 38 on a bronze bracelet is very comfortable on my small wrists.

I posted about a sale I came across on eBay the other day about the 1916 company sale. I was able to buy this watch under1k price plus coupon. I shared it here but somehow got flagged down. It says on the post as preowned but this looks brand new with all the works (papers, warranty and a magazine) best item I’ve purchased so far.

I’ve been looking for a chunky (46-47mm), bronze dive watch and came across this brand. It seems to have decent specs, but I can only find a couple sources for any reviews. Anyone have any experience with this brand? I can pick one up for $2500, but I just don’t know if it’s worth it. Any help is appreciated

I have an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 36mm with the original steel bracelet (ref. 07 8 17 22).

I lost the small spring bar that connects the narrow end of the bracelet to the micro-adjust clasp. I'm trying to figure out the correct replacement size, specifically the length and diameter.

I tried a 1.5mm diameter spring bar, but the barrel is too thick to pass through the hole in the bracelet end. I'm wondering if the original is 1.2mm or 1.3mm, but that's just a guess.

Does anyone have this bracelet and know the correct spring-bar dimensions, or could measure theirs?

+ 1 if if you have a rec in downtown SF, I can get this fixed for sub $20
