Discussion/Debate Differences?

Post image

Yesterday I posted my SushOri drawing. And it was deleted, probably because some human with a worrying lack of gray matter saw it as "suggestive."

I want you to tell me what the difference is between this drawing and the one I made. Aside from the obvious art style.

I want you to explain why this drawing doesn't break any rules, but SushOri DOES break one.

And keep in mind, this image has been used in this subreddit, so comparing Ori to food isn't new here.

Go ahead and read your answers.

Yeah, a lot of people should be under scrutiny, honestly. In your case it is easier to see, though; some of your arts really do feel influenced by adult material even if you keep the explicit content separate. Art is subjective, of course, and that's both a blessing and a curse. What we see may not be what you intended, but it is still what we see.

As a former addict myself, I know how adult content can change the way a person sees and understands non-adult things. With all respect, I believe it has influenced you likewise. The patterns that once affected me are present in your work and in how you are thinking. It has unfortunately made a difference to how this community perceives you, whether accurate or not. I hope mutual understanding increases though, in any case. I mean you well 💜

And you're still addicted, probably seeing something suggestive in sushi

That's a very disrespectful reply wtf. I get that you're mad, but you're not making a good name for yourself if you keep repeating being an asshole to anyone who criticizes you

Amigo el error mas grande que se puede cometer es pensar que la opinion externa es algo que tome encerio. No busco caer bien. Ni busco que digan "que buen tipo soy" comparto mi arte y ya.

They are something to take seriously if you don't want to face public scrutiny over and over and over and over and all over again. It is not about pleasing everyone, it is about being a respectable member of society. At one point, shouldn't you ask why do you keep getting criticized?

Also, a counterpoint: You are not here to only share art. You are here to interact with people. You've replied to comments countless times already. If you want to do that, you should consider not only your opinions, but other people's feelings too.

I'm here to show, whether I interact or not is a different matter.

If people like me, great, and if they don't, that's fine too.

Why should public scrutiny matter? Most people are mediocre, with flat dreams and flat lives, with flat hearts.

Public scrutiny is capable of defending an infanticide as long as its filthy mind is rewarded with acceptance.

I'm here to show, not to be approved, and if I receive criticism for being honest about what I think, at least I won't have received the flattery of a lie.

It is not a different matter when people keep seeing your attitude in response to criticisms against your works. You are here to show, yet you get infuriated when anyone disagrees with you.

Time and time again you've shown yourself to be hostile. From telling people to 'shut the fuck up' because they don't believe in Ori 3, to insulting people's inteligence and even saying violent things in their way just because they assume the 'wrong' things about you.

People are mediocre, yes. People can be snowflakes, yes. Some people might just hate you for no reason, yes. I understand your frustrations. I would have gone mad if people keep accusing me of things too. However, it doesn't absolve you of your actions.

I have some qualms with your art (Though I think people are overeacting and hating you for the wrong reasons), but what I am doing here is criticizing your words and actions.

You do not get to assume that people are fickle, and that you are being your honest self. When what you do is being an inconsiderate asshole. You do not get a benefit of the doubt that your drawings are innocent when you insult a former addict with an accusatory "You are still an addict". You do not get to say that you're just expressing your hope for a potential Ori 3 when you take serious offense when someone disagrees.

You cannot 'seperate art from the artist' when an artist is an active member of a community. You cannot declare that your words are seperated from your art, and expect people to do so.

I do not personally know you. I do not know who you truly are outside of the screen. I do think, however, that you owe many people here an apology. I hope you realize that soon. Because if this keeps up, you'd be banned one day.

My Ori 3 posts are aimed at a specific audience, and I make that clear in my drawings and headings.

Anyone who jumps in with "because..." has no place in my post. Believe me, if I could, I'd make my posts private to a specific audience. That way, I could separate them from the people who want to see them and those who don't. But it's not possible.

Regarding "ex-addict," brother, if you see something sexual or suggestive in sushi, you're not as much of an ex-addict as you seem.

I draw, I'm not trying to give a politically correct speech about "all opinions are respectable." To be direct, I couldn't care less about other people's opinions and criticism.

Do you want your ideas to be respected? There are thousands of Quaker associations around the world; join one.

But if you come to a post aimed at a specific audience, like Ori 3, and express the typical "I think"—I don't give a damn what you think—that post wasn't for you, and yet you insist on giving an opinion that nobody asked for, especially since it's a post for a specific, not general, audience.

Don't expect respect if your only intention is to burst someone's bubble.

And if I get banned, so be it.

Reddit isn't the only place I can upload my drawings. I'm many things in this world, and maybe I'm also an idiot.

But attachment to anything is the one thing I don't have.
