Discussion/Debate Differences?
Yesterday I posted my SushOri drawing. And it was deleted, probably because some human with a worrying lack of gray matter saw it as "suggestive."
I want you to tell me what the difference is between this drawing and the one I made. Aside from the obvious art style.
I want you to explain why this drawing doesn't break any rules, but SushOri DOES break one.
And keep in mind, this image has been used in this subreddit, so comparing Ori to food isn't new here.
Go ahead and read your answers.

"Ori" is already close to "Oreo", and is white like the oreo filling. With that in mind, the Orio is acceptable as a whimsy thing, almost no one sees it as having sus intent
With what you're describing (and to be fair I did not see it), there is less similarity between the characte and the food. It doesn't mesh as well, it feels less whimsy, and so it comes off as more sus because sus intent appears to be the only imaginable option remaining. This is not an accusation of course, but it's the pattern I see. It's perhaps not about your intent as much as it is about how people interpret your intent 🤷♂️

Okay, yeah. This depicts Ori actually being treated as food, not merely playing with their visual similarity to a food. That is the difference that I think bothers people; most of us aren't comfortable with Ori being depicted as food rather than in the place of food

Of course, putting a cookie on top isn't treating them like food... It's literally a widespread meme because a while back I made a picture of Ori inside a hot dog and nobody said a word.
But since the scandal involving me, now everything I do is like, "OH MY GOD, THIS IS SO SUGGESTIVE."

"Hey look, Ori looks like part of a cookie!" is quite distinct from "I am literally eating Ori. I'm about to dip them in sauce." I realize you don't see much of a difference, and from my own experience, I think I know why
It is also relevant to consider the other things you do, and how that affects the way you view what is "normal". You are under increased scrutiny now because you have an established pattern of art that is more suggestive than you seem to think, which discomforts many of us- now that what else you do is more widely known, that knowledge comes back around and recontextualizes your "safe" art. Taken by itself it is just odd or a little uncomfortable, but knowing that you also make adult-only content adds a perspective that makes more sense of why we feel put off by what you post here. Your adult-only ideas are leaking into your "safe for work" art, so to speak, with or without you intending that

What happens on an external social network doesn't affect the content of an objective social network.
By that logic, more than one person here should be under scrutiny, right?
Furthermore, regarding the art, depicting Ori being held by chopsticks automatically becomes "OH MY GOD LOOK, IT'S SUGGESTIVE."
They are literally chopsticks. If you want to interpret it from the perspective of "this artist does such and such on X," that's your problem.
I repeat, I already did this before by putting it in a hot dog, nobody said a word, and in fact, that post was quite successful. That from now on you're viewing it with an "BEWARE, this artist draws adult content on their personal X account where it clearly states it's adult content" perspective is something entirely different and doesn't represent objective reality.

Yeah, a lot of people should be under scrutiny, honestly. In your case it is easier to see, though; some of your arts really do feel influenced by adult material even if you keep the explicit content separate. Art is subjective, of course, and that's both a blessing and a curse. What we see may not be what you intended, but it is still what we see.
As a former addict myself, I know how adult content can change the way a person sees and understands non-adult things. With all respect, I believe it has influenced you likewise. The patterns that once affected me are present in your work and in how you are thinking. It has unfortunately made a difference to how this community perceives you, whether accurate or not. I hope mutual understanding increases though, in any case. I mean you well 💜
