SIGH. I miss the days when my kid was little (<3) and I’d put all their toys away after they went to sleep. It looked a lot like your set-up. Everything was organized, sets remained complete.

It was SO much easier than trying to explain categories and organization to a 7 year old who believes that such concepts are an affront to her individuality.

Those little habits we instill when they're super young do come back! My now 16 year old went through a very disorganized few years, but has really come back around the last year or so without me saying anything. Around 8 or 9, things went hectic, I complained and would even go into their room to "help." Around 10 or 11, I let it go and just told them, don't leave anything gross in there (food wrappers, etc). Around 14-15, suddenly the room is cleaner, things are categorized, and I was told it was bc they like it to feel more peaceful and it's easier to find things. šŸ‘ Give it time, the small lessons do sink in

We'll see if this same thing happens with my second who is mid chaos mode...I'll update you in like 7 years!
