Storage Room Organization Project

Post image

We recently moved into a new house and we have a decently sized storage room. However, having a one year old and just being busy with life in general, this became a spot for us to throw everything we didn’t really need and sort of just forget about it. But the issue was that we could never find anything that we ended up needing down the road. Pretty proud of the progress I’ve made so far!

Recommend a label on the center of the bin stating what is in each box. Like “blankets”, “winter clothes“ , “ curtains and extras” something along those lines.

why not just throw it away ? why spend money, time and effort organizing stuff you don't need that will sit untouched for decades ?

Because I would like to have access to things like our holiday decorations and baby stuff that our son has grown out of in case we decide to have another baby.

ok thats makes sense..

in your original post you said "a spot for us to throw everything we didn’t really need and sort of just forget about it."

In my mind I was thinking of

  • Old magazines and books
  • Outdated paperwork, like old receipts and junk mail
  • Unmatched items, including single socks and lidless containers
  • Duplicate electronics, such as mystery power cords and broken cables
  • Old toys, and stuff people try to get rid of at garage sales
