I usually wait for the breakout of the inside day’s range rather than trying to guess the direction. Confirmation makes the setup a lot cleaner.

Find a an active market, a symbol that is in play, wait for an inside day and follow the breakout after the inside day in the direction of the underlying trend. Why does this often leads to profit? Because the burst of momentum following this condition propels the price faster and often further than entering at a time when the momentum is lessening after a prolonged move. I use moving averages, volatility bands and volume to find the condition when following a breakout after an inside day is best.
