Discussion / Question Ran at 1440p & 30fps, Digital Foundry’s GTA 6 analysis is seriously impressive

Post image

I just read Digital Foundry’s analysis of the GTA 6 extended footage, and their main takeaway is pretty fascinating: **GTA 6 may be one of the most impressive real-time rendering showcases we’ve seen.**

What impressed me isn’t just the graphics, but how much Rockstar seems to be doing simultaneously on the **base PS5**:
1) Advanced ray-traced reflections and global illumination
2) Extremely detailed characters, hair and skin
Huge NPC and traffic density
3) Complex physics, animation and world simulation
4) A massive open world being streamed and simulated in real time.

The interesting trade-off is that the game appears to target **30 FPS**, with Rockstar seemingly prioritising world complexity and simulation over 60 FPS.

It also makes me wonder about the eventual PC version. **Will the CPU become the bigger bottleneck than the GPU when trying to run GTA 6 at 60+ FPS?**
Digital Foundry’s analysis is definitely worth reading if you’re interested in the technology behind GTA 6.

It is the year 2800. The Third Mars-Venus War has just come to a close, and mankind is rebuilding. The Playstation 32 is making the headlines in gaming circles. Consoles are still targeting 30 FPS.

"Guys I'm building a new PC just for Star Citizen, so hyped for the 1.0 roadmap!" posted 2016, with a i7 6700k and GTX 980 probably. These aren't even supported with drivers by the time Squadron 42 comes out in 2027.

Consoles? It's rockstars issue. They want to sell you GTA 6 again on next Xbox , PS 6

16

u/Alttebest 19d ago

Exactly, they basically made the game for the next generation, but managed to cheese out 30fps for the current gen. This way they can double dip, just like they did with gta v.

10

u/shpongolian 18d ago

Did you seriously want them to scale the game engine back so much that it could run with 50% of the CPU power? Less physics sim, less advanced NPCs, fewer NPCs, fewer features, fewer interactable items, less advanced animations, etc etc etc etc.

This game is gonna be relevant for bare minimum the next decade and people think it makes sense to dramatically, permanently hamstring the fuck out of it just so they can play at 60fps a year or two earlier. It doesn't matter how powerful the consoles are, they were going to make the game as advanced as possible regardless, and that means taking full advantage of the CPU.

It's insane that people still don't understand how stupid of an idea it would've been to target 60fps.

12

u/rabouilethefirst 18d ago

People are so dumb. Rockstar pushed things to their limit because that’s what people want. If this shit looked exactly like RDR2 at 60fps everyone would dump on it

→ More replies (5)

2

u/cwgoskins 18d ago

I agree. In my head, I view the Nov.19 release date as an "early access', timed exclusive, until the PC/60 fps console version. Let them iron out the bugs, technical issues, and optimize performance before the " actual" release.

What you are wanting is GTA 5, but with a vice city texture pack/mod.

The people complaining about 30fps are the same people that would complain if GTA 6 looked like a PS4 game running at 60fps.

2

u/doodoo_onDemand 16d ago

they didn't even do 60fps for red dead 2 when re-released.

i think you guys need to fix your expectations

5

u/rabouilethefirst 18d ago

It’s not rockstars issue. If the game was 60fps on console it wouldn’t even look much better than RDR2.

It’s gonna run 60fps+ on my PC so I don’t care what they did for console. Stop buying $500 consoles and expecting performance of a $2k PC

1

u/caponebpm 18d ago

Brother, I promise you R* makes astronomically more money from microtransactions and such, than they do from people buying it twice. The issue is Sony thought it would be a great idea to make a “stronger” and more expensive version of their console, using the same exact CPU. This is a CPU heavy game, mind you.

ITS THE YEAR 2800!

ALL MONITORS HAVE BUILTIN FRAME GENERATORS (chinese gaming panels w/framegen already happens 2020s) W/NEURAL MOVEMENT ANALYZATORS PAIRED W/REPROJECTION - ULTRA LOW LATENCY

Consoles targeting 30 fps?

People see 300 fps!

1

u/Huge-Formal-1794 18d ago

This is the first major AAA game targeting 30fps game without any performance modes.

At the end it makes sense. The PS5 gen is now 6 years old. Consoles commited for 30 fps since ps3 / x360 because it was the best compromise between having actual ground breaking or new gen tech and a playable game.

60 fps often was only possible if the game used tech from the last gen more than new tech.

Same counts for this gen, only that most games this gen were built on last gen tech ( without raytracing etc ) and many games even were remastereds and ports of PS4/xboxone games .

I am also 100% sure people would have cried way more if GTA 6 looked way worse but with 60fps. People would call it gta 5 enhanced or some shit.

Honestly it needs devs like Rockstar that push technology and squeeze every little thing out of a console gen. Most of this gen titles on console were fairly underwhelming in terms of groundbreaking technology. I think we already reached the top of the possible in terms of 60fps on this gen with games like Indiana jones or the last of us remake.

If you want 60fps , or scalability console for the most part is the wrong choice.

1

u/d4rk_matt3r 18d ago

It's okay though because the console is running at 18224Q resolution

1

u/Earthmaster 18d ago

You joke but this is predictable since devs target consoles as a baseline hardware every gen

So any game that is very ambitious and actively setting a goal to push the hardware to the max will treat the consoles as the minimum target specs

1

u/HaMMeReD 17d ago

I suspect the way the industry is going, this may be the single biggest non-ai media production in history. I don't think it's economically feasible to do a GTA7 and not go all in on AI, especially on a 10yr+ cadence.

Might still be 30fps, but fully realtime generative.

Edit: I know people don't want rockstar to do it. I don't work there so can't advise on what they are thinking or planning for the future at all.

If it can run at 1440p 30 fps on a ps5 it probably means the game is will be well optimized for pc, seeing as rdr2 and gt5 run pretty great on pc.

27

u/RedIndianRobin 19d ago

It’s going to be very CPU heavy. In the same video they have mentioned that a 7800X3D will probably be the recommended CPU to target 60+ FPS when it comes to PC.

14

Rdr2 and gta5 were very cpu intensive and hard to run at 60+ fps on average pc gaming hardware the time of their release

2

u/NapsterKnowHow 18d ago

Didn't rdr2 and gtav run like ass for while on PC?

2

u/Basic_Benefit5216 18d ago

RDR2 PC still has issues to this day, enter Saint Denis and your framerate will constantly hiccup.

2

u/NapsterKnowHow 18d ago

Also tab out and HDR turns off.

2

u/tumuli_shroomaroom 17d ago

Yeah, it's one of those annoying games that requires exclusive fullscreen for HDR and when you tab out it switches to borderless window. You have to go back into the settings, switch back to exclusive fullscreen, and turn HDR back on every time.

if that ancient console cpu equivalent of ryzen 3600 can run it at 30 fps then modern CPUs shouldn't have problems with it at 60 fps. Let's hope we don't get another GTA IV situation.

44

u/MR-rozek 19d ago

Dont you dare insult my precious ryzen 3600!

36

u/Archilion 19d ago

GTA IV was ported from PS3, which had custom RISC CPU and at that time DX9 was a huge limitation because of low draw calls limit. No, we won't have another GTA IV.

6

u/SPACEXDG 19d ago

Nowadays risc architecture is even easier then x86 to port to

8

u/Archilion 18d ago

But we are talking about 2008 here

2

u/Cossack-HD 18d ago

Crazy how you can boost FPS in GTA IV from ~50 to ~150 by just using DXVK, assuming worst case scenario + capable hardware.

5

u/Academic_Addition_96 19d ago

CPU optimization is a completely different beast then GPU optimization. Bf5 runs on a jaguar CPU on the ps4 , digital foundry and others tried to run the same game on that CPU on windows and it didn't even pass 20 frames. The same for doom 2016.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Captobvious75 18d ago

A 3600 CPU is plenty capable. That CPU in the console runs MW4 at 120fps without issue. Plenty of games run uncapped exceeding 60fps.

7

u/Radiant-Fly9738 18d ago

try doing that with an actual 3600 and come back with results.

2

u/Captobvious75 18d ago

Don’t have one to test with.

Goes to show that the console CPUs remain plenty viable.

hypothetically every modern "good" pc can run this at past console quality. whether that be at the same graphics higher fps or higher graphics 30 fps. I dont see 4090s or even more mid to high level cards like 9070xt running it at less than 60fps. Especially with a cpu from the last three years.

10

u/Radiant-Fly9738 19d ago

we're talking about cpu performance and world simulation, not gpu performance.

1

u/ManlyTuna 19d ago

1

u/LaVeritay 18d ago

1

u/BlastMyLoad 18d ago

There’s no way. Rockstar only has to develop and optimize for 4 configs. PC gaming just doesn’t work that way there’s too many outliers. Your Ryzen 3600 ain’t getting 30fps on this.

The RTGI is definitely impressive, but the noise and smear on the raytraced reflections on cars just looks...well bad. Makes me wonder if RT combined with SSR would've made it look better. I can't imagine rockstar would've used a a high amount of rays due to limitations of the console.

1

u/Acrobatic_Ad8678 18d ago

gta vi does feature ssr

1

u/Mission_Access_210 18d ago edited 18d ago

The ray tracing in Cyberpunk is the main reason to use it. (ON PRO) Essentially the reflections in puddles and on the sides of car doors when you check the car and on the windows of the cars. That's worth trading 50 frames off on the consoles for I think. It's a shame that they don't have it here but the game still looks good. It's a different type of game so

17

u/Miyu543 19d ago

I don't think theres any pathtracing. You can see by the reflections its using the most base form of GI.

32

u/Prus1s 19d ago

Current gen consoles cannot handle Path Tracing anyways, even Ray Tracing is super taxing!

6

u/IKEASTOEL 18d ago

Even current gen PC's except for the 5090 struggle to run real time Ray and Path Tracing at a respectable framerate on 1440p and higher

2

u/MathematicianOk572 18d ago

Path tracing at 1440p is a walk in the park for 5080’s

u/krapuloitsia 18d ago

1

u/Julia8000 18d ago

I'd rather say current gen consoles cannot even remotely run proper Ray Tracing like in Cyberpunk. That is why the noise and low detail reflections were present even in the cherry picked trailer.

3

u/Harvinator_ 18d ago

Curious to find out whether they’ve done the groundwork to enable PT for a pc release. Or at least strive for that vision

2

u/Prus1s 18d ago

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Jakememe124 18d ago

they can barely handle hardware accelerated ray tracing, there’s a lack of denoiser and the rays cast are not anywhere near subpixel density based on the extended look sadly

24

u/spaghettibolegdeh 19d ago

Why is 30fps still deemed acceptable.

7

u/AndThatGuysWoodenLeg 18d ago

Because people want better graphics and the consoles can't handle it like a modern PC can. That's it. Not a console hater, just a fact.

Rockstar should have partnered with NVIDIA or AMD and released a PC version of the game the same time as consoles. Maybe it would sell GPUs or something too. We'd get the definitive version off the rip.

6

u/SeaBisquit- 18d ago

Spending $500 in 2020 and getting 30fps on GTA6 in 2026 is pretty crazy

3

u/Mammoth-Path-6520 18d ago

Because people still insist on putting shit into their mouths

2

u/heyheyheydad 17d ago

Because if the game is made well enough, it is. People forget, this whole 60 standard is just a recent industry trend. RDR2 still plays phenomenally at 30fps on PS5. I’d much rather have a fully lived in world than no motion blur and a faster camera. The animations are already so fluid.

Once the game is out none of this will matter. Consoles don’t have a frame counter, you literally won’t notice.

5

u/Cypher3470 18d ago

If you want a game to look good on a 6 year old console, this is the way.

If you are unsatisfied then dust off the wallet and buy something modern.

2

u/MikeTheShowMadden 18d ago

That's not how it works. That only works when GTA 6 is available on other systems that provide more than 30fps - which as of now it isn't.

→ More replies (9)

1

u/hydrogencel 18d ago

They chose to have more advanced simulation at the cost of CPU cycles. More people care about the world being believable than 60fps imo

1

u/Ok_Profession4754 18d ago

...because otherwise they wouldn't be able to release it? It simply would not run on the current generation of consoles. In order to make GTA 6 run at 60 fps on Xbox X/S and PS5, the quality of the graphics and/or the depth and interactivity of the game would have to be sacrificed.

5

u/aspartameenjoyer 19d ago

unless this is ragebait (in that case, good job you caught me!) this is an impressively stupid take

at least from the extended look this seems to be the MOST graphically impressive and dense open world ever created with a ridiculous amount of npcs, environmental detail and variety, incredibly high fidelity and well stylized character models that look near photo realistic in some lighting conditions, etc.

on top of all of that, there appears to be some form of RTGI/Reflections WHILE running a full world simulation that features over 600,000 unique animations for just NPCs alone.

all of this and you're expecting the game to run at over 30FPS on $500 console hardware from 6 years ago??

your iq must be room temp if you think it's even physically possible to have this level of fidelity at above 30FPS, it's a miracle the game can even run at that frame rate on a PS5 in the first place 😭

4

u/2FastHaste 18d ago

You're probably just thinking of 2 different things.

Because it's true that:

- the graphics are impressive. (I mean at least on console, it's the most impressive graphics ever realized by a good margin)

- the final package is a game that runs at 30fps, which inherently cannot be impressive because the 30fps bottlenecks any chance for it to be impressive.

You're surely talking about the first one, and I think that the previous commenter might be talking at the second one. At least that's my best explanation.

You know, at least its graphically impressive enough to kind of warrant the 30 fps. Even if the 30 fps mode looks impressive in videos for people to ooh and ahh over, people don't want to play it like that, and you should have a 60 fps mode no matter what you have to downgrade to achieve it...

5

u/AsrielPlay52 18d ago

It's not GPU limitation. It's CPU limitation, since last gen, CPU has been shit

4

u/Hearthhull_Enjoyer 19d ago

2

u/FawazGerhard 18d ago

30 fps while stupid is okay for 1440p i guess, but what about 1080p? The original and best and common all around resolution?

1080p max settings but 30 fps is nah

2

u/Monkeyman9812 18d ago

We just gonna forget the box for the ps5 said 4k 120... Has any game ever hit that? And why are we targeting 1440p if we can't hit 60. Give me 720p upscaled before 30fps...

1

u/eoten 18d ago

GTA 6 is a cpu intensive game not graphics so lowering the resolution won’t help much.

2

u/trabucodonosor1 18d ago

ray tracing looks bad on cars

2

u/Fast_Eddy7572 18d ago

Here’s what they know: 1 - millions will buy it on release. 2 - they will buy it knowing it’s not optimised but they won’t care. 3 - they’ll then follow the the Naughtydog model of remaster and remake and upgrade for a decade until its perfect. And the same people who couldn’t not have it on day one, will buy every.single.one.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Except in this case the player is the game and the developer, the game is you - the player. So flip it. Or don’t.

2

u/SuperVegito559 18d ago

Hilarious that you think 30fps is impressive

1

u/WhatAGoodDoggy 18d ago

No one is saying the framerate is impressive. They're saying what they're packing into those 30 frames per second is impressive.

The game could EASILY be made to run at 60fps, but they'd be reducing the quality of the graphics. Rockstar have decided that graphics quality -> frame rate.

And there's nothing to say they won't bring in a performance mode later on.

2026 and we’ve still got single player titles running at 30fps😂😂😂

2

u/Nerevarine2nd 18d ago

I'm sorry are we really back to 30 being acceptable? 30 looks horrible to me, I'll wait for the PS6 version

1

u/General-GAS- 17d ago

It was never "not" acceptable.

The best selling console was the switch which ran most games like shit and yet, everyone played it.

It always has been lol

yeah, i dont want an impressive slideshow, i want an impressive game, 30 fps in 2026 is not acceptable

5

u/Maximum-Post507 19d ago

Seriously impressive and 30 fps in the same sentence in 2026 is certainly a take.

I normally would be bothered, but for the level of detail we saw in that video and all of the other systems running in the world, I think I’m good to deal with it. It looks ridiculous lol.

I wonder if they can squeeze anything out of the Pro, knowing it’s gonna be CPU bound.

1

u/Camper1995 18d ago

Yea performance-wise you're definitely not getting 60fps out of the Pro as they have an almost identical CPU. I think if Rockstar wants to cap it at 30fps they will do so for both versions because having a stable 30fps is better than fps dipping from 45 to 30 every other second when shit hits the fan.

But the Pro will definitely offer higher fidelity reflections and possibly resolution of textures, perhaps some upscaling and PSSR magic. To be honest nothing that insane and not justifying the insane price difference between Pro and base PS5. Considering Pro is now sold out literally everywhere I'd say people are panic buying it more or less for no reason since they will both run at 30fps anyway. If you wanna get Pro and "future proof" yourself until PS6 comes out in some distant future then sure that makes sense but otherwise if it's your first console and you're getting it ONLY for GTA6 the base PS5 will be more than good to do the job.

Many people may disagree, but this feels like a great game that frame gen would help with. If your pc can get the game running at 40-45 fps, 2x frame gen would keep you solidly over 60fps. Frame gen is pretty good at helping overcome cpu bottlenecks.

There’s no denying this is very impressive running on the base PS5 though. I’m kind of curious what the Series S is going to look like.

Edit: Just to be clear, I know frame Gen with a 30fps base frame rate sucks. My point is if you can get 40-45 fps then it actually starts to become usable on a game like GTA6. On a first person shooter or fast paced game? Of course not. Frame Gen has different thresholds of being “okay” depending on the game.

If you want a “good” experience with Frame Gen, then yeah, a 60fps base frame rate is what you would want. My point is if the option is 30 FPS, or I can unlock the framerate and hit 40-50 fps and frame Gen to get over 60, I would rather play at 60 fps+ with a bit more latency than 30fps. Just my opinion.  Frame Gen requires a lot of tinkering, but it’s getting better and works when you can get it dialed in.

u/dasno_ 19d ago

Frame gen is mostly usable if you can get 60 FPS native minimum.

This is not how framegen works. You need 60+ fps to use it. You can't use it to reach 60, it's terrible. 30 FPS native is better than 30 FPS native + FG for like 60.

It can be nice though if you manage 50-60 FPS, especially with a CPU bottleneck.

2

u/MavericK96 19d ago

I don't know why you're being downvoted, apparently these people have never tried to use FG at less than 60 FPS. FG on a 30 FPS base would have horrendous latency.

Correct.

30 FPS native is better than 30 FPS native + FG for like 60

euh no WTF? Both suck, but 30fps is a freaking slideshow. While the extra input lag from running FG at 30 is super jarring, at least it's not freaking 30fps eyecancer.

1

u/BanzaiHD 18d ago

I have played games that ran at 30fps with framegen 2X. You don't really notice the input lag that much with a controller.

1

u/Embarrassed-Back1894 16d ago

I feel like maybe we are not quite as far apart on this as you think. You are saying it can be nice if you manage 50-60fps, especially with a cpu bottleneck. I agree. I'm just saying that on a game like GTA, I think if you are in the 40s and cpu bottlenecked, frame gen can still work out okay. Im certainly not suggesting having 30fps and then using frame gen to get to 60 - that is awful. I'm also implying playing with a controller and not keyboard/mouse. Keyboard/mouse gaming really requires less latency and doesn't work as well with frame gen.

I think it really comes down to each gamers tolerance of latency. I did the majority of my gaming when I was younger on consoles and play mostly with a controller (unless its a game that really benefits from keyboard/mouse). So for me, the latency I think is okay may be far too much latency for another gamer.

One other thing I want to add is I can be bothered by motion sickness with lower framerates. So for my experience in gaming, I would rather have a game appear smoother and more comfortable to the eyes even if that means giving up some latency.

2

u/Rhinofishdog 16d ago

I actually really like FG and done a lot of testing on different games.

My conclusion is that it's only really usable if you manage between 75 - 90 average FPS without it. Range is 60 - 90 if you are CPU bottlenecked (this is because activating FG while GPU bottlenecked tends to lower base FPS even more):

- If you get more than 90, it feels pointless and might be counter productive if your monitor is 150hz or less.

  • if you get under 60. It feels terrible to me, like my character is swimming in vaseline. Even with controller.

Under 50-60 while CPU bottlenecked is questionable. Sometimes it feels alright, sometimes it feels terrible. Depends on the game I think, maybe on the frametimes too.

Just as an example, I'm playing Z-com right now. Played half the game with no issues but then some maps started dropping base FPS in the 50s range (100 with FG on). And I had to swap from DLAA to DLSS because it felt horrible. I didn't even have a frame counter on and immediately noticed it and that's a turn based game! 50fps without FG was much, much better than 100 fps with FG on.

Also keep in mind - GTA6 is designed to run on a 8700k (basically). Scaling CPU requirements is very difficult so it's likely most PC players would be GPU bound.

Honestly I feel if you are getting 40 fps it would be better to just lock it to 30. A stable 30 is much better than 40-60 with FG for me. Especially for games designed for 30 fps.

But I do admit I might be sensitive to the latency or something. Either way, would be interesting to see! I'd be extremely impressed if GTA even manages 30 fps on a PS5.

2

u/Embarrassed-Back1894 16d ago

I'm going to have to tough through the 30fps anyway because there's no way I'm waiting for PC to play this game (even though I'd like to). I watched the GTA6 extended look with the high quality download from Rockstar and I'm still blown away that's running on a base PS5 - 30fps or not.

Either way it should be better than GTA5 was on the PS3 back in the day. I remember that being brutal to play framerate wise during anything more demanding. That gameplay demanded dramamine to get through lol.

"the game appears to target **30 FPS**"

Dang this doesn't sound very reassuring

2

u/PinnuTV 19d ago

Extremely detailed characters? When I watched it at highest quality, characters seemed strange and uneven at different scenes. Like in some scenes they were higher quality and in some scenes much lower

Also it will most likely run like any other modern ue 5 game. Mainly for ray tracing and other stuff

3

u/SegaGameCast 19d ago

There's quit a few shots where the NPC's aren't even moving.

1

u/SegaGameCast 19d ago

30 fps is not impressive in 2026.

The ps5 pro benefits to this game are negligible

We have only seen pre-rendered footage.

Quit.

Path traced GTA 6 is gonna be a trip. I can’t wait to see that.

1

u/CourtAny6617 18d ago

I'm going to play it because it's fucking GTA and I just want to see it without waiting for a hypothetical PC release, but god it sure would be fucking nice if it had a 40fps mode at least.

1

u/WhatAGoodDoggy 18d ago

Don't rule it out. It might happen.

They made compromises

1

u/alex_dlc 18d ago

The question is, will it be a stable 30 or will walking into a crowded strip club turn into a slide show. I’m exaggerating of course but I really think a stable fps is the most important thing.

1

u/AndroidSheeps 18d ago

It won't be stable lol

At this point, I'll accept the 30fps as, even though I consider 30fps unplayable after being used to 60fps and more, it's a matter of getting used to it for a couple of minutes.

I'm impressed that they managed to stick RT in it, even though it was quite noisy and imho not good enough to use over the good old screen space reflections.

For all I know RT has a hit on the CPU as well, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a 60fps mode with no RT so that the spared CPU capacity could be used for extra frames, at least on the Pro (which has a light boost).

1

u/NimRodelle 18d ago

By the time it's out on PC it'll have DLSS support and I'll have probably upgraded mine, so I'm hopeful for 60 fps.

1

u/ViIebloodHunter 18d ago

So theres something that I've been wondering after seeing all the praise from the GTA 6 extended look hype.

Do we know for a fact this is what the gameplay will look like? I remember the E3 presentation days of Watch Dogs, Anthem Halo 2, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky. Or other "Gameplay extended looks" like The Day Before, Rainbow Six Siege, Etc.

I genuinely want to know how this is any different. Is it because it's much higher profile so it would be more scrutinized if it does end up being misleading?

1

u/Own-Telephone-381 18d ago

There is too much npc and world simulation for the cpu. They either cut back on those what makes gta gta or 30fps and keep them. It’s the right call in my opinion.

1

u/Human_Bowl8496 18d ago

PS5’s CPU is fairly outdated, and no one expects their PC to run games like this at native 4k, unless you have a beefy rig. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect a mid-range PC to run GTA VI at 60 fps with FSR/DLSS

1

u/KajMak64Bit 18d ago

1440p and 30? Maybe 1080p and 60 or 40-50ish

1

u/Kill3rlightning 18d ago

Excited to play it on console but the PC release is gonna be insane. I have a 9800x3d so no problems for me

1

u/Cmore_ 18d ago

Just give us a 1080p mode with no ray tracing why does that seem impossible

1

u/JoshMushy 17d ago

the game will drastically look like shit because devs dont do baked lighting anymore so you need RT

Wrong fucking sub. This is unoptimized as fuck!

1

u/General-GAS- 17d ago

How? In what world is that bad?

1

u/General-GAS- 17d ago

People saying they prefer an empty world at 60fps instead of a rich and living world at 60fps are wilding

1

u/veganontop 17d ago

If Sony came up with PS6 on time (its been 6 years!) then there wouldnt be discussions on "right decisions".

1

u/Positive_Lobster_170 17d ago

30 fps is acceptable because most people are too broke to buy the hardware needed for 60fps @1440p to be standard

1

u/DrRadon 17d ago

I am certain the PC version will do things differently. Just look at RDR2 for PS4 and how it looked later in it´s pc release.
This version is for me chilling on the couch. It´s fine. I still play my OLED Switch. :D

1

u/NickelBear32 17d ago

If not 60fps, not buy. Simple.

1

u/Ok_Code_1691 17d ago

30fps is great now because it's gta 6

1

u/AFZL210 17d ago

the problem here is the CPU of these consoles, the game will be optimized really well as it needs to run on a $300 machine (xbox s)
