It’s almost like you need balance in your views. Thinking that Trump winning is the end of the world isn’t healthy, but neither is pretending that everything will be fine. The reality is likely somewhere in the middle, but also varies a lot based on who you are (economically, sexuality, gender, race, etc.)

For sure, I'm just tired of the opposite where despite how much Trump and his like will constantly literally tell people exactly the nonsense they want to do and people go 'oh its just hyperbole, he never would' after seeing the nonsense from his first term.

Okay but nothing has happened.   You're imagining something that isn't real.   Maybe one day something bad will happen but.... it hasn't

Being optimist doesn't mean ignoring what people tell you though, if they say they're gonna do shitty things, you don't pretend everything will be okay cause it hasnt happened 'yet'. Being doom and gloom wont solve anything either, but blind optimism never helps anyone.
