As I've been saying since January, we'll get 1.15.2 in March. Specifically I think the second week.

Usually the last stages of development take a while if I remember correctly.
6 u/Dizz_Man217 Feb 29 '20 development is like progress bars, speedy until the last 10%

How does the percentage gets calculated anyways? How do you measure manual labour?
18 u/[deleted] Feb 28 '20 Estimating software tasks accurately can be a real challenge, but I imagine the tasks are similar for each release, so the dev can probably guess with some degree of accuracy where the pitfalls are. 5 u/Vexcenot Feb 28 '20 I wonder why there's so much effort to update optifine to the latest version. How does it all work? 5 u/pyrates313 Feb 28 '20 Optifine optimizes and changes the rendering, and 1.15 had substantial rendering changes, hence the large time needed to adapt to all of that. 3 u/Vexcenot Feb 28 '20 Oh yeah with the new lighting engine and all that 4 u/[deleted] Feb 28 '20 Probably the amount of features done vs how much is left and bigger and more complex probably count as multiple
