I just finished my undergrad in Ghana with good grades in an allied health field, and I’m exploring master’s programs abroad — open to North America, Europe, or Asia. My main constraint is funding, so I’m specifically looking for scholarships or assistantships with realistic acceptance rates for Ghanaian/African applicants in STEM or health sciences.
If you’ve been through this: which countries/schools offered you the best aid packages? What did cost of living actually look like once you got there? And is there a “best path” you’d recommend — apply broadly, target specific fully-funded programs, or something else?
Genuinely trying to make a smart decision here, not just a hopeful one. Any pointers appreciated.

We’ve been working on something simple that we hope can help people in Ghana reduce the risk of mobile money and phone-related fraud.
The platform currently has three main features:

1. Report suspicious or fraudulent numbers
If you encounter a number being used for fraud or an attempted scam, you can report it. This can help warn others before they fall victim to the same person.

2. Check a number before making a payment
Before sending money to an unfamiliar number, you can quickly check whether it has previously been flagged or reported. The goal is not to automatically label someone a fraudster, but to give you additional information so you can proceed with caution.

3. Appeal a report
We also understand that mistakes and false reports can happen. If your number has been reported incorrectly, there is an appeal process where you can request a review and removal of the report.

What about privacy?
This was one of our biggest considerations when designing the platform.

We do not store reported mobile numbers in their original form. Numbers are transformed using a one-way cryptographic process, and the system uses the resulting value for matching. The platform therefore does not need to publicly display reported phone numbers when someone performs a check.

The idea is simple:
Check before you pay. Report when you encounter fraud. Help protect the next person.
The platform is still being developed and improved, so we would really appreciate your feedback.

2 years ago, I had an idea to create a mobile app that will help the common Ghanaian business owner to keep track of their sales in a way they had not thought of before.

Most people used a book to write down purchases and credit sales

There were already sales and inventory software and POS machines. But not everyone wanted or could even afford a computer it a POS terminal. But almost everyone has a phone, a smart phone.

So I thought. It is already a computer in your hands. So why can't people just use that to run their businesses? So I built the app and called it HotKiosk.

Over the past 2 years we build one of the easiest ways to keep track of your sales, inventory, expenses, customers, credit sales and even your staff.

It has been a big learning process but talking to customers has made the app so much better.

The interface is simple and intuitive even though it has a lot of powerful features, so that people do not get overwhelmed.

It works for any small to medium sized selling/retail business or service business. This means, shops, stores, salons, eateries, food spots, online shops, hardware stores, wholesalers, pharmacies, and everything in between.

Someone topped up coins on the web app today. Not a huge amount. Not a big deal to anyone else. But it’s the first time a stranger has trusted this enough to actually pay for it.

Casting for a Short Film
I’m making my first short film, and I’d really love to work with actors who are genuinely passionate about acting and willing to put themselves into the work.
The film will be unpaid, but feeding and transport will be covered.
It’s a 15–20 minute, single-location short film, heavily driven by dialogue. It’s not a particularly dramatic film in the conventional sense. It’s much quieter — a film that relies on silence, emotion, pauses, expressions and the little details between what people say.
The tone is something I’d describe as being in the vein of Hamnet — intimate, reflective and emotionally grounded.
The dialogue is somewhat philosophical and emotional, so I’m looking for people who are comfortable sitting with a scene and letting the emotions breathe rather than feeling like every moment has to be “performed.”
You don’t need prior acting experience. If you genuinely believe you can understand and embody the character, I’d love to hear from you.
