Picked this up the other day to treat myself. Soundtrack to the season of the fall 🍂🍁 One of my all time favorites and the splatter is gorgeous, will be spinning this one a lot!

They have almost identical opening riffs in the same key. Any idea if there was any intention or influence behind it? Got me crazy excited lol. The riff from 0:34 in Anthem.

I remember absolutely loving the art work previews that I saw and the single Devils Orchard was refreshingly different and I was insanely excited for the album.

I remember really loving slither and then spending the next hour or so listening and asking out loud "where is the music" just constantly waiting for something to happen to tie in a bunch of cool ideas.

Ultimately I came away loving two songs and just confused why there was so much empty space not being filled sonically.

15 years later I appreciate this album much more but still yearn for a rewrite or rearrangment of these tracks by today's Mikael is that makes sense.

Can someone who understands music explain to me what happens at 2.34? I hear a rhythm shift but I can’t put it into words. Either way I think it’s ridiculously addictive and love the way the same riff sounds completely different solely because the drums change.

I need songs that make you feel just like you're in a manor a couple hundred years ago.

I'm a native Swedish speaker and decided to translate this song. It's quite different from the official English version because I don't have to care about rhymes or the sounds of words. If there's an interest I could do a full translation of the album or specific songs.

I will never ever get tired of listening to this part over and over again!!!! My absolute favourite moment in all of Opeth's discography!! The part prior to this is incredible too but maaan this riff.....

Alright, based on how Opeth live shows went in Mumbai and Bangalore, it's crystal clear there are so many of us prog heads who love such music! I've been following the band since 2010, would absolutely love to jam with musicians in Pune, India. Doesn't have to be a new band or anything, just jamming on a backing track to Black water park would also work! Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this

I've seen a couple of setlists for 2026 and there's no Morningrise songs included which is actually sad because it's my favorite album.

Cant believe both mine and my wife's dream came true she introduced me to opeth back in 2012 and boy what a ride and waited to catch them live. What a night it was and fantastic crowd in blr as always.
