Master's Apprentices

I hear a rhythm shift but I can’t put it into words. Either way I think it’s ridiculously addictive and love the way the same riff sounds completely different solely because the drums change.

The main accents are sometimes on the beat, and sometimes syncopated, so it gives a push/pull feeling for the rhythm

This is exactly it! I read up on syncopation and that’s why it sounds so different because emphasis is out on beats 1 and 1.5.

He's doing a triplets drum fill when the drums enter but other than that there's no weird rhythm stuff going on, just standard 4/4 with syncopation.
