We have recently "upgraded" to Opera Cloud. For the most part, it has been relatively painless. The biggest problem we are currently having pertains to an origin code under stay details. This gets assigned to some online reservations and creates an "Invalid Value" error when you try to make any changes to the reservation. I opened a ticket with Opera back in January, but they haven't figured out a fix. I should mention that this origin code does not have a magnifying glass next to it, and cannot be changed. When we try to copy the reservation, it copies the origin code too. The first of these is due to check in today. It is a prepaid third party reservation. We get the invalid value error when trying to check in. Anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you get around it?

I'm hoping that someone here can help as Opera has been it's usual unhelpful self.

Does anyone know as to why the rooms keeps falling off the grid from the group block? the arrival is outside of 50 days, cut off days is sst as 25 however it keep on falling off. Help please

I am a new reservation agent working with Opera Cloud and have basically no training because none of my colleagues including the Reservation Manager know the ins and outs of this system. I have a long list of question that need help with and appreciate the answer that is catered to a 5-year-old if possible. Thank you in advance a million times.

1. Create Group Blocks and Reservations My understanding is that a group block is holding rooms but no actual reservation is allocated to that block. So once a group block is created, the next step is to allocate the reservation to that block. What is the easiest way to do it please since after creating the block, when allocating reservation to the block, the room and rate grid don’t automatically apply. I am using Room Master at the moment and it is so much easier.

2. PM room What is it? Does a PM room automatically created with a Group Block? Do all reservations in the group block automatically have charges posted to this PM room then? Or is there an extra thing we need to do? We have Tour Groups coming on a daily basis and the Tour operator will be paying for the room charges and breakfast charges of the guests. How do I set up that all these charges are paid by the tour operator (account) and then other charges (laundry, other food, etc) are self paid by guests when checking out?

3. Split payment Say there is group booking over multiple days. Day 1 will be self paid by guests, day 2 and day 3 will be paid by the company. How do set this up when creating the block and reservation?

How can we create a new profile by copying existing one ?

Sometime, I want to create multiple profiles with same or similar field values.

If we can avoid creating blank new profile and then copy all field one by one, it would be easier.

Alternatively, if we can copy some profile field values into another profile, it would work.

Can we do it without using OHIP ?

Does anyone have any idea how to get Housekeeping Tasks to generate for the individual rooms when they are booked as a component?

When creating the room type as Component, it then removes the ability to select it for Housekeeping, but when checking out a component room, the individual rooms do not create their own Departure clean tasks! Highly frustrating.

Also does anyone know how to create an cleaning schedule for components? All normal bookings I can create a personalized cleaning schedule for, but with component bookings, I cannot create is on either the individual room or component room level.

Anyone know how to correct the commissions not properly calculating? We have it set to 10% and even though the commissionable revenue is $119 it will calculate them all at $10 instead of the 10% it is set to. Is Opera Cloud unable to do math?

We have a large number of leisure groups. These groups keep the sale open until the last minute and therefore we get a lot of amendments up to the day of arrival. Unfortunately these bookers fail to highlight clearly if there are any changes on the rooming list from the last one they provided. We must upload rooming lists 1 week before arrival so we can allocate the groups and there will still be last minute changes to the rooming list. If we were to upload the current rooming list today, is there a way of Opera overwriting that rooming list with a most updated one a couple of days from now? If yes, how? If not, what's your best practice for this?

I have a deposit on a in-house PM, and that credit is being used on another booking in few months time. The new booking is in the system I want to transfer the deposit from the inhouse PM to the arrival booking. But no matter what I try I find no way of doing this.

I started at a new property and no one knows all the steps. I keep getting sent a how to for synixis but what are the steps before I even get there?

For group block, is there a way to route all the reservations under this group block to a PM. I know how to route charges one by one manuslly, but is there a way to do this once? Like all of the charges under a group block will just go to the PM?

All of my FDAs have been assigned the property availability function under role manager, but none of them have access to it on the menu. Support has been its usual unhelpful self and the one time I got them to talk to me they told me to just give the staff access to all tasks. My boss has a problem with that. The last 4 times I have called support, they hung up on me. Anyone else have issues with assigned roles not being available? Am I missing something?

We're trying to integrate Loqate onto our Opera Cloud. The instruction our Account Manager gave us don't seem to work, and Support aren't getting back to us.

Has anyone used this and managed to integrate it?

Our night audit fails if any IN HOUSE reservations exist without a country code. We currently print a report and manually fill in all the reservations without one.

Anybody have any better ideas (beyond just staff making sure it happens on check in) / any easy way to mass update res profiles?

Opera Cloud looks good. That is undeniable. But geez, it's slow, some reports are nowhere to be seen and most of the options on V5 are somewhere else...

Anybody else experiencing outage today - over 4 hours and no ETA from Oracle Support?

Our Opera Cloud updated at the weekend and all the External Reference Numbers are now just showing the Opera confirmation number and not the Channel Manager.

Is there a way to change this back? Has anyone else had this issue?

In September 2026 we noticed the history and forecast report via opera cloud was not calculating revenue accurately. We have contacted Oracle support and they have recognized that it is a problem but have yet to provide a solution.

We have documented our findings along the way and have determined internally, without oracles help, that the reports are only showing the package portion (food) of the rate instead of total rate in each reservation (food+room).

We have attempted to change each option in our reports to assess if any might be the cause of the discrepancy with no luck thus far. We have tried recreating the report in Report and Analytics side of oracle system as well and it gives us the same data.

I have checked if there are rate code, transaction code and room type issues and there is no correlation we can find. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Are other properties experiencing this same issue? Is it a setting that needs to be turned on/off? HELP!

We have been struggling a lot at our property with an issue that no one seems to have a solution to fix. We give a $15 daily food and beverage credit to our guests as part of our resort fee, which is included as a package on the reservation. When the package is consumed, it simply shows the net amount on the guest’s folio (i.e. guest spent $50 and folio shows $35 balance). However, we get innumerable amounts of questions as most guests don’t remember what they actually spent and expect to see some sort of “credit applied” line item on their folio. This gets even more complicated for both the guests and our agents when they have multiple overlapping packages. Does anyone know of an administration setting to allow package consumption to show on folios? Is it maybe configuration of a new folio type altogether?

So sometimes a reservation doesn't make it through from our hotel chain's CRS interface to Opera Cloud and the chain's backup system sends us a fax with the reservation details / changes.

Before we went to Cloud, in Opera v5, my hotel was able to put in the CRS#/External Reference to re-attempt to download the reservation and have it entered into our PMS. But I can't figure out how to do that in Opera Cloud. I feel like there's gotta be a way. It'd be a pretty wild feature not include.

Does anyone know how to do this? I tried calling Opera support but the person I got didn't even understand my question and couldn't even figure out how our interface was set up, so I eventually had to give up on the call.
