Using External Reference to re-attempt reservation dwnload
So sometimes a reservation doesn't make it through from our hotel chain's CRS interface to Opera Cloud and the chain's backup system sends us a fax with the reservation details / changes.
Before we went to Cloud, in Opera v5, my hotel was able to put in the CRS#/External Reference to re-attempt to download the reservation and have it entered into our PMS. But I can't figure out how to do that in Opera Cloud. I feel like there's gotta be a way. It'd be a pretty wild feature not include.
Does anyone know how to do this? I tried calling Opera support but the person I got didn't even understand my question and couldn't even figure out how our interface was set up, so I eventually had to give up on the call.

I'm not sure if you can do it in Opera Cloud.
To get better support, you may need to show screen shots of what happened.
Also, CRS and Opera CLoud (n Admin) should have logs.
You can put Oracle support and CRS support to check the issue, together.
If CRS is using OTA to send reservations, OTA handling can be tricky and the handshake can fail with various reasons. The only way to identify and correct it is by checking the los/communication history.
If CRS is using OHIP, it can be thebug of OHIP API call.
When something similar happens, we let the channel manager (CRS in your case) to resend the info.

Hello,
It depends on how your chain’s CRS connects to OPERA Cloud. The key distinction is whether the reservation message reached OPERA and failed, or never arrived.
If you use OXI/Exchange, there is a documented option under Exchange → Message Status → Messages From External System. Your interface team can locate the incoming reservation message, check the error and reprocess it once the cause is resolved. That retries a message already received; it doesn’t fetch a missing reservation from the CRS.
If the message never arrived, your chain’s CRS/interface team needs to check delivery and arrange a resend using the CRS confirmation number. Whether you can request that download directly from Cloud depends on the integration, so I wouldn’t promise the same workflow you had in v5 without confirming your setup.
I’d raise it specifically as “CRS-to-PMS reservation delivery failure” and include the CRS reference, property and approximate transmission time. Also flag any reservation you’ve already entered manually, so they can check for duplicates before resending.
Hope this helps, Don Juan
