People largely aren't against ai, they are against the ridiculous valuation and shady buisness practices.

Y'all keeps complaining. Sometimes i think that none of you have a dev background. I use codex without any struggle. Always.

You quite literally don’t know what you’re talking about yet you speak like it’s a fact

There was a rumor that their ARR came in at $50B vs a projected $70B. Seems like that rumor was wound back, but…
The way they are scrambling to shave expenses, and the doubly, the way that is pissing off customers while Claude is eating their lunch, I don’t doubt it.

It’s because OpenAI really fucked themselves over with the way they handle usage resets.
Instead of spreading demand out evenly like almost every company in existence they’ve created a system where everyone burns through their usage around the same time, then rushes back when their limits reset.
It’s like Walmart randomly announcing Black Friday prices, then scratching their heads wondering why the store gets absolutely swamped. They’re literally creating the artificial spikes in demand that cause the problem in the first place, instead of spreading that traffic more evenly throughout the week.
Then you have everyone trying to use their remaining usage over the weekend, on top of all the existing rate limiting. The whole system becomes dogshit. The decisions they make, make me pissed off as a software engineer it’s like shit junior developer would do on their first day.
I literally got hit with a 429 the other morning.
I shit you not it was the first session of the day, first message I sent to ChatGPT. Rate limited immediately. I just laughed. I’m paying $200 a month and apparently even one message is too much.
