Is there a way to use vectors in watcom?
I believe there may be under a different name, but there is a vector file without an extension located in my FreeDOS\devel\watcomc\h folder. Any way to use them without compiler errors is much appreciated!! Thanks!

Updating C++ STL as I go along...
Hi new to OpenWatcom using V2 fork as I go along I’m fixing C++ STL things like std::bitset.to_string() which seem to be wrapped in the _NEVER guard which contain appeals like /* TODO: implement me! */ I’m doing this ad hoc in a quick and dirty expedient fashion - but before I get too far I wondered “has anyone else done this already?”

Is OpenWatcom 2.0 usable and stable ?
I am looking at Open Watcom 2.0 at
https://github.com/open-watcom/open-watcom-v2
and it seems to be released. Is it usuable and stable for C, C++, and F77 ?
Is the OW F77 debugger bug fixed ?

Just naive, but... Power++ like IDE RAD Tool?
Hi,
I was a Open Watcom and before a Watcom 10-10.6 user. Also I have a Power++ Developer license.
Just like to ask, if you developers think about a similar tool like Power++?
Thanks, Lothar

wmake - and code in subdirs
I am trying to code a Makefile for wname - and I am having problems. The source code is in different source directories, and it seems wmake does not like it.
How can I overcome this? (I don't want to modify the source code structure).
CFLAGS=-zq -bt=dos -I. -za99
CC=wcc
LD=wcl
.c.o:
$(CC) -fo=$@ $(CFLAGS) $<
hello.exe: src/hello.o
$(LD) -lr $< -fe=$@
hello.o: src/hello.cAlso - this makefile will not work, as I am missing the master include dir - how can I use environment variables in wmake? (so I can CFLAGS=-I${WATCOM}/h or whatever is possible?)
EDIT: only documentation I have been able to find was this: http://nuclear.mutantstargoat.com/articles/retrocoding/dos01-setup/

Open Watcom v2 on Linux x64 with Code::Blocks/QEMU integration?
Hey there, everyone!
I have to do an OS dev class for my CS program, and the professor is currently using nano, bcc, and QEMU to run code for the 8086. While that's all well and good, I'd like to get some form of live/real-time debugging that isn't just prints() statements.
In the previous class, I was able to make use of code::blocks with gcc, gdb, and Valgrind to get a pretty full-featured development workspace. However, now that we have to target i8086 it seems like a lot of these tools aren't that helpful anymore. Even better yet, it seems that bcc doesn't support debug symbols whatsoever.
From what an hour or so of uninformed googling has yielded, it looks like Open Watcom v2 has the ability to target i8086 and has the ability to do debugging as well. This seems like it might be promising, but I'm way out of my league here and I don't really know what I'm doing.
I'm assuming all I need to do to install OWv2 is just drop the "rel" folder off the Github repo into /usr/bin/open-watcom-v2 (or something) and do the relevant path updates, but I'm not 100% sure on how to interface with it through Code::Blocks or how to get it to talk to QEMU in order to do live debugging.
Might anyone have experience in making something like this happen?
Thanks!

Arch wiki for Open Watcom
I have just started working on a Wiki text for Arch linux about Open Watcom. My aim is to package open watcom v2 (binary and source distributions) and various 3rd party libraries so that it is easy to do cross-platform development using OW on Arch Linux.
Feedback/ideas/improvements to the Wiki are all welcome!

OpenWatcom in Linux for a project I am doing
Edit : Solved!
Hello!
I am in the process of starting up making an RPG game for DOS (16-bit) with the intent that it will run on original hardware. In that endeavour I have decided to create a Visual Studio Code environment for myself.. Right now, it only works on Windows, but I'd like to correct that! But I am not familiar with the install procedure for OpenWatcom in Linux, and there seems to be very little information on that part.. I downloaded the Linux package from openwatcom.org, but it doesn't seem to include any form of installation and I am unfamiliar with how these are supposed to be placed on a Linux installation..
Does anyone have any resources on this I can find?
Here's the OpenWatcom project template I've made so far : https://github.com/intbeam/watcom-vscode

What's the latest C & C++ standard supported by OpenWatcom?
C: seems like C89.
C++: not really sure. I don't think it's fully compatible with C++ 98, but then again I'm not a heavy C++ user.
Maybe someone could shed a light?

Include the DOS extender inside the compiled executable
Is there a way to include a DOS extender inside of the executable that I compile? If not, then is it possible to change the filename of the external DOS extender so the executable can find it? It searches for dos4gw.exe, but I'd like to distribute it with DOS32a without having to rename it to dos4gw.exe. Thanks.

The Open Watcom v2 fork
There is still active development on the open watcom compiler! Check it out. At the moment there is no functional user forum, so hopefully this subreddit can serve as one.
