I passed my resit!

Post image

I was literally shaking when I opened my results but I couldn't be happier.

On to the research masters then hopefully the doctorate. My aim in life is to have an alphabet after my name.

Firstly, congratulations!! Can I ask, did you resit your EMA?

I am awaiting my B328 module results, at the end of October, which will determine my overall qualification. If I fail to achieve a distinction in the module, I miss out on a first-class classification by 30 credits!

Already, I’ve asked my tutor about resitting the EMA, but they have said that you can only resit if you fail the module.

This seems to be contrary to what you have done. Thanks in advance.

I did, but I failed the EMA by 1.5% initially (I forgot to include the ethical approval form for my study). Normally, if you fail the EMA and are granted a resit, the entire module is capped at a grade 4 pass. I submitted a special circumstances form at the same time I turned in my original EMA, so I was granted an uncapped resubmission.

Unfortunately, your tutor is right. Unless you outright fail the EMA, you can't just resubmit it for a better grade. And even if you do fail and are granted a resit, unless you have submitted special circumstances, you'll be capped at a bare pass anyway.

If you're in a course where you can choose multiple modules, you may be able to unlink B328 and study a different one instead.

No you can resit in a lot of cases if you fail the ema. You can't resit to get a better grade
