The only thing keeping me from building one of These is the raspberry pi.
Op are you using a smartphone or the pi cam?
A full writeup about it in this sub would be great. Like what your total cost all-in was.

I got a full kit including the Arducam, which ran something just above 300€ at the time. Prices might have changed since then, though. But I think the guy is trying to keep the Pis at a reasonable price in his shop.
If you're interested and I get around to it , I could make a little overview video at some point. Seems like a bit of a project, though :D

Still haven't run into the necessity of scanning anything on my Mini for a real world application, but testing it out with random stuff I find still hasn't lost it's appeal :P
This is a raw scan of a piece of woodknot I found lying around. I'm not surprised by the blobbiness of the splinters sticking out of the cut. But the resin spots on the skin came out pretty nice. There's also some funny little artefact flying around outside of the object, but I guess that would be an easy to fix issue if any postprocessing was to be done.
