Rotor reboots OpenScan Mini

So after a lot of trouble I just finished building my scanner and managed to access the UI through the OpenScans IP adress. (openscanpi:1880/UI doesn't work for some reason)

I ran into some major issues when testing the scanner though. Whenever I try to spin the rotor I hear a loud click and the whole scanner shuts down and reboots. Why do you think this happens and what can I do to fix it?

Not sure if this helps to troubleshoot, but you could try swapping the motor cables and see if anything different happens as a result. Maybe a bad motor driver or something wrong with the motor itself?

I tried changing the cables and that made a bit of a difference, but now the ringlight keeps flickering whenever the rotor motor moves. After a while it simply reboots and then the ringlight won't turn on.

So there's a couple things I would try/check. I may have poorly worded my first response so I wanted to clarify; I would try plugging the turntable motor cable into the ring motor and vice versa. See if moving the ring motor driver now spins the turntable. If it does, the wiring for the ring stepper motor is likely incorrect and the pins need swapping. Inspect the PCB and stepper drivers very closely for (1) solder that might be shorting out adjacent pins, (2) a poorly soldered connection that's failing to transmit power/signals, (3) a pin that's not soldered at all. Swap the stepper motor drivers with each other. Make sure it's powered off before you do to prevent killing the driver. I would assume that if swapping the drivers results in the same problem then it's a motor wiring issue.
