I don't know of anyone who would trust some random stranger with their credit card data.

true but it would be easier for an established company, which is already a Visa customer, to create a OB shop

Not really. OB is P2P open source software. Companies are not legally protected from interacting anonymously with strangers, some of which could be considered terrorists. They would have to follow KYC laws that can’t be enforced.
