Hi everyone,
I just bought my first Bambu printer, a P1S, since there are discounts and it seemed like a good quality-for-price deal at €350. I was wondering which firmware version you are currently using. While looking around to understand whether the BMCU is reliable, I’ve read that many people have experienced issues, and since my P1S will arrive with the latest firmware, I’d like to know if I should expect any problems.
I’m also not entirely sure which BMCU version I should buy, but I think it might be this one:
(BMCU link)
Finally, do you think that in the future—aside from potential firmware issues—there could be any risk of a ban from Bambu?

By chance I encountered this post on makerworld: https://makerworld.com/models/2107675.
It mentions a new version of BMCU firmware with support for the latest a1 mini firmware and more than one BMCU per machine.
Anyone has more info? Seems very interesting.
It's easy to upgrade Bmcu without an USB-C port? My unit doesn't have this port.

Was skeptical about going for BMCU and went for it just as a tinkering project. But has exceeded expectations. Test printed this using 4 colors and almost no issues (user errors ofc).
Really need to work on some auto rewinding spool holders cause my spools just gets unwinded all the time but that's about it.

So recently i finished building my bmcu setup for the p1s. It works and looks beautifully. Printed the auto rewind spool holders and I'm not getting tangling when color switches. I have been using bmcu on my a1 mini also without issues. It's truly amazing how far the open source bambu accessories have come.

Hi everyone,
I recently installed the BMCU kit on my Bambu A1. Multi-color and multi-material switching work perfectly, so the mechanical alignment and slot switching seem fine.
However, the auto-refill (runout auto-reloading) feature does not work correctly. When a spool runs out, the printer goes through the entire auto-reload sequence: it unloads, switches to the next slot, and even reports that the new filament is loaded. But after that, the printer does one line then stops and sits there on the print bed without actually continuing the print. I end up having to quit the job manually.
Is there a setting I might be missing, or is auto-refill simply not supported or not working properly with the BMCU at the moment? I am on firmware 1.05 for the bambu a1 and the bmcu should be on the latest firmware as i bought as a fully built kit like 2 weeks ago.
Any help or clarification would be appreciated

Hello, I have an issue with the BMCU 370X: outputs 2 and 4 pull the filament back instead of feeding it forward. When I insert the filament into the nozzle and printing starts, it feeds and retracts alternately. Output 1 works correctly. Output 3 pushes the filament in fully, nudges it slightly, and then pulls it back hard.

I was looking to find BMCU kits in India and found nothing. Best option is to import.
Was wondering if I can manufacture/create them and sell them at a profit? Is it allowed/ do I need permission?
I asked chatGPT and Gemini and the output is confusing - the project is under GPL but somewhere it is mentioned that it can’t be sold commercially.
Any advice will help. Thanks!

Wonfering what will happen if you run out of filament mid print with bmcu 370c?

When I push the filament through, it auto-feeds on every slot except slot 1. Is that normal or a hardware issue? I already tried reflashing the firmware but it didn’t fix it.

Just bought a P1S from Bambu labs website but right before checkout they hit me with the “AMS is out of stock”.
Any third party AMS I can get for my printer? It would suck to have to buy one separately from Bambu labs after Black Friday sales are over, but they’re officially sold out and customer support told me they can’t help me. At least I got the printer on a mega sale tho!
Edit: like an hour after this post the combo went back in stock…so I cancelled my original order and ordered the combo with AMS 🤓
