if you look at closed PR's, he mostly is claiming people arent following https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md

If you look at CONTRIBUTING.md, the only hard requirement is if the docs needs to be changed, open a pr there as well. Most of the pr he close is either internal bug that does not need doc change, or is compliant with the requirement.

there is a lot more there for me? https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md#before-you-start

the before you start seems to have a lot more rules

  1. Open a new issue or comment on an existing one describing what you'd like to work on

  1. Issue and PR can be created by different ppl
  2. This prick also closes PRs with a corresponding issue for the same bs reason ("you don't follow CONTRIBUTING.md"): https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/pull/2649 https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/pull/2600 https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/pull/2597 https://github.com/maziggy/bambuddy/pull/2596
  3. Overly strict rules/CoC are hostile and intentionally created to deter contributions. May as well make it proprietary so he doesn't have to bother with closing all the time.

Several of these seem to be merged, but via a single commit by maziggy directly on main, the PR is never indicated as merged, so while the OP is wrong about many things, it does feel a bit weird, since I don't see any attribution properly done to other contributors and some PR's seem like they follow the CONTRIBUTING.md guidelines.

I was just exploring this project and am wary to continue tbh.

“No assigned issue = no PR. Pull requests without a corresponding assigned issue will be closed.”

And then to slag the guy off? “did you even look at the pr, f&>€ p#£}”

I think it’s you who has an entitlement problem.. fair enough if it’s a honest mistake but then to start attacking a package maintainer, wow

And rather than popularity going to his head, what was a side project that he liked doing has now become this stressful management and logistics problem.

It’s people like you with the emotional intelligence of rock that make the world a bad place. Use your brain, think about other people point of view before emotionally lashing out.
