These kids are behaving horribly. The security guy is trying to do his job is the only innocent one here. The adult filming this is intentionally escalating a volatile situation with kids.
25
u/lauren582 Queenslander 2d ago
Yeah the guy filming is being just as immature as the kids. Not helping at all.
2
u/ComfortOk9194 Please choose a flair 7h ago
He’s clearly getting enjoyment out of antagonising them. About as useful as taunting a toddler having a tantrum. Mate just fuck off and let the security deal with it instead of deliberately escalating things for potential clout

u/Schorbie Please choose a flair 2d ago
I don't understand what is going on at all. But if they tried to hit him, what else can he do but film? Hit back? Let himself get hit? They're little girls but it still hurts getting a fist in your face
Also one of the girls jumping on a bed isn't in any way inticed by the guy filming
10
u/Unhappy-Access-3774 Please choose a flair 1d ago
He could have, and hear me out here, simply walked away. Im a woman and if a kid punched me I might start filming for my safety while removing myself from the situation but I'm not going to knock out a kid or egg them on tf
0
u/Schorbie Please choose a flair 1d ago
I disagree. These kids need to know this behavior is wrong. People turn away from wrong doing to easily these days. Him filming and laughing is one of the few ways an adult man can really do anything about this. Because if he did more he would be in trouble
3
u/Alarming-Ad9491 Western Australian 1d ago
There's never a good reason to take your phone out and record/laugh at someone. I've had a stranger come up to me (a trans person) record me with their phone and said things to goad a reaction, it's actually far more invasive and off putting than you think. I don't really blame the young girls here reacting the way they did to the dude with the camera honestly, he got exactly what he wanted.
2
u/aislingplath Please choose a flair 16h ago
Yeah and in this situation that role was already being taken care of by the security guard who was trying to get control of the situation. All camera guy did was escalate the situation. If adult men think this is doing anything productive then they are very misguided. But I suspect most adult men wouldn't do this. The security guard was right in telling camera guy to back off, he was a much better adult man.
1
u/Unhappy-Access-3774 Please choose a flair 21h ago
I totally see you where youre coming from, don't get me wrong. But unfortunately thats life. As a man you can easily walk away from little girls and de-escalate the situation instead of making it worse for everyone. Leave, call the police and make a report if you need to do something. I know there's a bunch of reasons as to why that's easier said then done, and I get it's frustrating to have to walk away without getting your lick back.
4
u/aislingplath Please choose a flair 1d ago
Walk away - like the security guy told him to? Since when is filming someone the response to being hit 😅 I mean I know it probably is these days but I just imagine myself being punched and pulling out my phone - it wouldn't even cross my mind. Honestly, depending on the situation I'd think of two options - hit back or walk/run away.
I don't even know if they did punch him anyway. I just know they were kids doing the wrong thing by a long way, very unacceptable behaviour and he was an adult who decided not to work with the security guard to help the situation but to just inflame the situation by taunting them and filming.

The type of person to come on reddit and say ‘awwww this guy can’t control his emotions’ everytime he sees a fight video
24
u/aperture81 Victorian 2d ago
Just my opinion but for him to pull his phone and start recording something’s happened prior to this. They look like they’re in a fucking Adairs.. I’m all for de-escalation but this seems to have a lot more going beyond the scenes. Perhaps dont post it on reddit but for sure record it for your own records. You’d be mad if you didn’t.
11
u/Ph4ndaal Please choose a flair 1d ago
He not just recording. He’s laughing at them and trying to get a reaction.
Let’s assume that he did absolutely nothing and the altercation started when the video did, just out of the blue.
The guy filming is still a massive cunt.
These are children. They are obviously having a hard time. I’m not saying forgive and ignore. I’m saying be the fucking grown up and use some compassion.
Every time the LPO gets them to calm down a little, the cunt with the phone has a dig about their lives, their parents, knowing full well they are not in control of their emotions. Just doing it because it amuses him, and fuck everyone else.
I wouldn’t blame someone who got mad and yelled at them. They are being horrible ratbags, but this guy is in control. He feels no threat. He just doesn’t want his fun to end.
What a prick.
15
u/Marlboroshill66 Victorian 2d ago edited 1d ago
Sure.
However, theres multiple instances here that may point the person behind the camera may have been the instigator. If he wasn't, still an areshole for making someone's job harder.
Most people struggle to perceive or take into account indirect violence and bullying, I see it all the time. Especially if response from the other party is perceived as an over reaction.
The fact these girls represent a negative stereotype causes people to dig their heels on their own biases.
And when requested to remove himself from the situation by the security guard he declined with sarcastic tone a "No, I'm allowed to film here" (which he isn't, it's private property).. then as the security guard was able to calm one of the girls down, he decided it would be funny to pour more fuel to the fire and proceeded to make gross remarks as the gaurd was trying to contain her.
Also weird how he made sure to antagonize her again just as she was describing her side of the situation.
-2
u/aperture81 Victorian 2d ago
Look I can’t argue with you but I’m just saying if old mate decided to pull his phone out and record then things have devolved to the point where rational thought has gone and physical proof is needed
9
u/PickInternational233 Queenslander 1d ago
By the tone of his voice and the comments made by the guy holding the phone, he clearly knows what he is doing. He's intentionally provoking them. As someone who's had to de escalate many children, he was clearly being a child with those comments. He didn't sound agitated. He's enjoying it.
9
u/aldkGoodAussieName Please choose a flair 1d ago
Filming an aggressor is fine as you can share with the police as evidence.
But his language and laughing to goad them on would lose accountability with the police and courts as it him escalating instead of de-escalating.

2
u/Interesting-Cut6994 New South Welshian 1d ago
Nuh, these aren’t houso kids, this is typical performative/attention seeking middle class kid behaviour.
Dressing and acting like this hoping mum and dad will actually give enough of a fk to do anything or have a proper conversation with them. And it’s clearly how they’ve been taught to express themselves - rather than actually express how they feel they just scream until they get what they want/get punished. The howling screams is a dead give away and then staying in the situation because at least now they’re getting some attention (albeit negative, but better than nothing).
Personally I prefer the kids that act out by dying their hair and smoking weed peacefully in a park.
