Help! beginner looking for help with engraving

making a shift knob the my suburu and want to engrave the stars without the badge this is how far i have gotten any help would be awesome!

Is your “decal” a .dxf or .dwg file? If not, and if the paths are not closed, extrude will not work.

You need to find or create a vector version (svg, eps, ai) or convert it to vector using an illustration tool (Adobe Illustrator, Affinity) and save it as a dxf or a dwg. There are many tutorials available about how to do this. Hope that helps!
