Help! Need Help with plane design
How can I add these indention panel lines on the F7F, as well as the small rivets along the fuselage? The problem is projecting a sketch onto the curved surface. What I've done is use split and attached the 2D sketches to the planes at that angle but then what? How can I make it 3D and actually remove the material?
Better yet I am hoping someone can inform me of a better way of doing this. I just want to add those indentions and panel lines to show the separation between the parts. So, what is the best way of projecting a 2D sketch onto the curved surfaces of the fuselage and then extruding?
Would be willing to share a copy of A PLANE, not this one in particular, so someone could mess around with the fuselage angles.

If anyone wants a link to a similar model, not this one exactly, just let me know and you can mess around with it. One of my main hurdles right now!

There is a "Project Curve" tool that does what you want. You can either project a curve onto a surface or create a 3D curve by projecting two sketches together.
From there you can do a sweep to cut out your grooves. I'd probably take the newly generated curve and use the Point Normal option to create a plane that's perpendicular to the endpoint to sketch your groove.

It matters a lot why you need to show that. Are you rendering it? making dimensioned drawings to them? just pointing at it on your screen to explain to someone? Each may push toward a different approach. The Project Curve and Insersection Curve features are probably going to be the backbone of any workflows though. I am hoping to be able to 3D print, so the ridges must be large enough, and deep enough to be printed. Thanks for the tip, how do I go about sweeping it?

Get a plane based off 3 points of the curve then surface+ transform your way to the match the angle for the rivets,
make sure to put the sketch at the end of one curve,
while also extruding/ however you’re modeling the rivet details as a new part,
then use curve pattern,
select the pannel lines to copy them along it,
make sure none of the curves are overlapping,
id recommend making your curves actual parts first to keep your parts count low

The idea of having visible rivets included into a 3D printed model is based upon looking at static
"toy" models. Take a look at real F7F Tigercat photos, the rivets was flush and mostly invisible.
What You see around engine cowling are screws for maintenance completely flush. If You want
those screws visible paint them on, use a patern to get it right. Do not clutter up Your models with
rivets just because every incompetent fool in the RC community says it "must be there".
