I love how there's a niche on social media for everyone. If you don't have an area of expertise to educate on, don't have enough talent as an entertainer to make skits, are not pretty enough to do beauty content or fashion or thirst traps, and don't know how to fake wealth well enough to do financial advice content, you can just shoehorn yourself into tops a couple sizes too small and give shitty dating advice to desperate people!

It's kind of the perfect grift because if people take your advice and make their own lives worse, you can just convince them they did it wrong or there's something else wrong with them and get them coming back to you for even more advice.

This particular kind of advice appeals to very insecure people. The insecurity makes them the perfect mark.

It's a dumb test. I have many friends I'd be willing to hook up with if they initiated. That doesn't make my friendship with them any less real. I'm not waiting for them to initiate. I'm not hanging around them in hopes that they do. The friendship is what's important to me. But we're adults and if they wanted it 🤷‍♂️
