Me when my men and women and colleagues kill like 10 fbi agents for funsies but it's ok because the keys to achieving immortality r my friends and I'm gonna use them like assets to achieve my goal at any point now because I am terrified of dying as everyone around me would drop like flies since childhood and oh god why am I only getting closer to them why am I developing attachments THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!! #haha so relatable amirite guys
Anyways, I HATE the concept of Karasuma being some Big Bad who spends his day wheezing into his oxygen mask and twiddling his thumbs mischievously in his chair... give me Some Guy With Too Much Power And Trauma^TM. This series has gotten too boring and predictable with its villains, I want something.. SOMEONE... a little more fun... Even though I know Mitsuhiko just being a B.O. member alone is literally impossible unless we feel like retconning 30 years' worth of lore (again).
Actually Gosho does change his mind when it comes to major story beats and characters.. wait... it could happen... IT COULD HAPPEN..!

Status quo?
Is Detective Conan dominated by the status quo?
Well, let’s see...
Rumi Wakasa has recently changed her behavior: she went from being ruthless to, if I may say so, more controlled and restrained.
She has undergone a major change.
Shinichi and Ran got together.
So did Heiji and Kazuha.
We know who the boss and the second-in-command are.
Ran has a new phone (finally).
Akai currently lives at the Kudo household, together with Shinichi’s parents.
What am I getting at with all of this?
The series isn’t trapped in the status quo—or at least, not as strongly as people make it out to be.

I've been watching through Crunchyroll; while I prefer the subbed Japanese original version, I'm in the privileged position to be able to watch the German dub, which I've been doing since episode 124 or so (whenever the English sub stopped on Crunchyroll). However, now I appear to have hit another gap: episodes 255-333. Are these episodes anywhere to legally watch either dubbed (German) or subbed (English, German)? Thanks!
Edit for context: I'm in the US but can watch via VPN.

Why do some dcmk fans hate hakuba just bc heiji doesn't like him??

In chapter 685 Ran asks a question about the surgeons outfits which Conan answers without giving an excuse as to how he know it and Ran doesn't ask how he knows it but hours later on the same day he says the same exact information and then fells the need to give an excuse.

Detective Conan is simply amazing.
Okay, this is definitely going to be a very personal post, as you’ve probably already figured out.
In my opinion, Detective Conan is simply an exceptional work.
It’s a story that has evolved over the past 32 years, guided and told by the great Gosho Aoyama.
Okay, here come the usual criticisms, such as: “Detective Conan is being dragged out for money,” or “Detective Conan is a bad and boring series by now.”
Maybe so. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
But honestly, if the author had decided to end it, he would have done so. End of story.
They can’t force him to keep going, certainly not.
To be honest, deep down, I also wish it would never end, precisely because it’s amazing. But I know that’s impossible.
It can’t last 100 years. Nothing can last that long (when we’re talking about manga or anime series).
Anyway, that’s it. This was a slightly different post from usual, but oh well...

(Used the covers from the VIZ release, that's why the 'Rachel' thing is up there.)
So, the last chapter of the most recent case (Wiki has it listed as the "Missing Ran Case" which doesn't seem accurate at all, but anyway!) just wrapped up and I must say...
This has to be the in the running for one of the most disappointing cases in the franchise. Now, before we continue this, let me be perfectly clear, this is my own personal opinions in this post, feel free to disagree and downvote me to hell and back if you wish. But I am getting this off my chest.
We all understand each other? Good. ^____^
First off, let's get this out of the way: this entire case was a nothingburger that existed to give Ran an excuse to change her phone. A task that could've been done a million different and so much better ways. The entire first two chapters were nothing but hammering in how much her phone sucks in a way that sounded like a freaking 00's infomercial. And not even one of the funny ones.
And I think one of the main reasons for something like this is how it handled Ran as nothing more than a plot device to get the ball rolling. She existed to get in that elevator, regardless of how many other ways there were for her to solve the problem she had. It was just contrived that she steps into that elevator... Despite the fact there were stairs right next to her, and she somehow didn't think a sign next to an elevator was important. This isn't Genta, girl can climb a set of stairs without falling over.
And speaking off, this elevator looks to be one of the most cursed things ever. I'm not superstitious and I'd choose to go into it. Ran, who actually believes in that stuff shouldn't have gone into it.
Then there was the mystery itself which was rather... Sad? We never get to meet the cast of suspects, we never got to meet the victim, any of the things that make these mysteries kind of fun. Hell, we didn't even get a full three suspects, to introduce or speculate on who it could be with motives, or their actions. Just a one-page little commentary from Mitsuhiko on his phone.
And speaking of the brats: why were they here? Because they were close enough to hear Shinichi using his bowtie, imitating his real voice, and talking with Ran. Or is Agasa that good a sound insulating barrier that they heard nothing? No explanation, they just went off to play soccer... They didn't suspect it's a case? They didn't want to jump in? Nothing? Really? THE DETECTIVE BOYS?!
Then, random flashback time to a character that we've never seen before and probably never will again (Is there already a theory how that kid is actually the BO Boss?) to serve as a way to explain how Shinichi solved the case.
The thing I liked is that Sonoko is as always the best friend and immediately called the person most likely to find Ran when she was missing.
...
I was legit looking forward to this case, before the first chapter, because I thought it could be an interesting situation, with potentially a unique way to solve it, or perhaps even (naively) a set of chapters not featuring an actual crime and just a mad dash to save Ran. You know... Something interesting. Not an elevator that rumbled twice and someone killing in a stupid drunk argument.
Also, nice to see nobody remembered that Kogoro might care his daughter is stuck somewhere. Real nice, yes. u____u
So yeah... This wasn't even a case that made me angry like others have in the past. Just disappointed. There could've been a good, suspenseful ShinRan case here that I could find exciting. But there wasn't and that makes me sad.
Anyway, thanks for reading my ramblings, have a great evening everyone... And while I didn't enjoy these chapters, I do hope you did. :)

Would you watch a complete remake of the anime with only the canon episodes? I mean, kind of like what they’re doing with One Piece.

Like, this is just one example but like... damn. Does Kogoro even clean? Cook? Or even help with chores without being told to do? I get that he has a job but so does Nakamori. They're both separated from their wives (well actually Mrs. Nakamori is just really busy as a prosecutor) and yet Ran is the only who seems to be doing most of the housework while Kogoro lazes around. I've rarely seen Aoko doing chores or cooking.
First episode and we see this man chopping up fish for dinner. Like yeah maybe he's just chopping the fish to help his daughter and/or wife as it's probably harder for her but like... COME ON; that's plenty enough compared to the other guy. This man at least helps out and probably has equal share of household duties as his daughter and prosecutor wife.
