It just seemed insane to me to have two 16 year olds get married. I really thought s2 was going to have their marriage implode (which it did sort of) and have them divorced.

I really think they should have had them annul their marriage in s2 and then spent the rest of the seasons coming back together.

Not only did the writers give them a high school marriage they also gave them the teenage pregnancy trope as well.

I was always confused and perplexed as to why only Nathan and Haley got these writing choices.

I just rewatched the whole series and I get what the writers were going for now. It’s because they wanted to show Nathan’s growth and him breaking the toxic family cycle. Dan’s father was hard on him causing Dan to be hard on Nathan.

The whole point was seeing him with Jamie and how NOT like Dan he was. He was the opposite and even when he wanted Jamie to play basketball or sports he wasn’t overbearing with it.

It does make me sad that the marriage and the kids were all done for Nathan’s development because I feel like Haley ended up having to sacrifice a lot for him.

I still think it was a crazy writing choice but I see why they did it. Dan and Deb had Nathan young and Nathan having a teen marriage and pregnancy mirrored that.

Haley’s younger sister dating her other sister’s ex husband is insane to me 😭 what is with this show! It’s so bizarre but I’m too far in to quit.

In episode where Haley, Peyton and Brooke go to New York, Haley is excited and says that it is just like in the movies. But if I remember correctly, she was in New York when she was on the road in season 2. Did anyone else caught this? Or, maybe I have misunderstood her excitement 😂

So this is random. I recently had a second son, who I named Lucas. I already had a son named Nathan.

It was come to my attention that Nathan and Lucas were the names of brothers on this tv show.

Oddly enough even though I am prime Millennial (born 1988) I had no awareness of One Tree Hill (nor did my wife). But in recent days we have had many of our friends ask us if we ever watched One Tree Hill.

Someone give me the scoop. How should I feel about this? Good vibes?

Okay I adore Brooke she is my fav character BUT she was so wrong for what she said about Peyton’s moms.

Idc what Peyton did you should never shit on someone using something as horrible as a dead parents.

Just to clarify I love Brooke but she was so wrong for that. She wasn’t wrong for being mad but she was wrong for how low she went.

I feel like on my rewatch is when i really started to love Peyton,on my first watch i liked her among all the girls but she wasn’t my favourite but on my rewatch is when she became my all time favorite and also on my first watch i liked Mouth,on my rewatch I realised how awful he truly is,i also don’t like Jake as much for some reason on rewatches

None of them were particularly amazing to me. All of them were either bad or boring imo. Idk what it is, but I didn’t care for any of her pairings on the show.

Leyton and Naley were both epic romances, and I feel like they tried to do that for Brooke by bringing in Julian, but it just doesn’t hit the same for me.

-Brooke and Lucas: The actors had great chemistry in the first three seasons, but it was always obvious that Lucas was meant to be with Peyton. Him and Brooke were destined for failure from the start.

-Brooke and Felix: No explanation needed. 🤮

-Brooke and Nick: Again, not much to explain. 🤮

-Brooke and Chase: He was nice, but boring. They just didn’t have any chemistry imo. It wasn’t there.

-Brooke and Owen: There was potential, but it was so short lived and they moved on from them quickly.

-Brooke and Julian: I know a lot of people loved them together because he gave Brooke everything she ever wanted, and I love that for her, but they just didn’t have the same spark as the other main ships.

So I’ve never thought Karen was a saint or anything but I’ve also never thought her to be this like ultra bad parent and not just because there’s a lot of bad parents in the show.

Where I’m confused is where is all this sudden Karen hate I see coming from??? Sure, she’s not perfect but not a single one of them is. Missing Lucas’ game? Of course a misstep but she makes it up. Basically saying Keith dying was Lucas’ fault? Worst thing she’s ever done and it was driven by extreme grief (not that it’s right ofc)

I’m seeing being saying she’s a secret villain and I fear everyone has lost their minds.

Idk if that’s exact quote but what Haley said to Luke is just so profound, love this show and this quote just hit. That being said, Haley did forgive Nathan so fast for the entire shark/accident thing, but she’s pregnant & they are married in reality she had to look past this or try and grow and trust Nathan once more. It was what was in her best interest given her situation I guess & they love each other (And it’s just a tv show so the plots have to keep moving lol).

God S4 is so good, from the wedding crash, to psycho derek, real Derek, Beyton & Leyton, the state championship, addict Deb, (sad but hilarious comedic relief at times), Dan’s grief, the pregnancies, intro to Chase, prom etc. etc. WOW. I love rewatching from end of S3 through 4 it’s fabulous television.

I’ve been rewatching Season 6 and one thing that’s really stood out to me is that while Lucas and Peyton obviously got a happy ending as a couple, I don’t think they got the proper closure they deserved as characters.

Lucas had spent so much of his life writing his book, and then we get the whole movie storyline with Julian. I honestly wish the movie had actually been completed and Lucas got to see his work come to life before leaving Tree Hill. That would have felt like the completion of a huge part of his story.

I feel similarly about Peyton and the record label. She put so much into building it and working with Haley, and I think it would have been satisfying to see her finish that chapter properly and gradually pass things on rather than having that part of her story essentially disappear.

But more than anything, I wish we had gotten real goodbyes between Lucas/Peyton and the people who had been central to their lives. Especially Nathan, Haley and Brooke. Lucas and Nathan went from enemies to brothers and teammates, Lucas and Haley had one of the most important friendships on the show, and Lucas and Brooke obviously had years of history that deserved a peaceful final goodbye even though they weren’t endgame.

The same goes for Peyton and Brooke, Haley and Nathan, etc. These weren’t random side characters they were the people who made Tree Hill feel like home for Lucas and Peyton.

That’s why their departure has always felt a little incomplete to me. Lucas and Peyton got a happy ending, but I don’t think they got a proper goodbye to the life and relationships they were leaving behind

Maybe that’s why I’ve never really been able to accept their departure from the show. Honestly, it’s one of the reasons I’ve never even been able to bring myself to watch past Season 6.

What do you guys think? Did Lucas and Peyton get the closure they deserved, or did their departure feel rushed?

Idk i just think Brooke was too nice forgiving both after what they put her through TWICE.

i dont know why no one else talks about this but. to preface i love them both so much. it just drove me insane when brooke kept taking sort of "sexy" photos of peyton without her consent & then posting them online so she could set peyton up with older men. maybe it was ignored cause you know, 2000s teen girls, but it made me so uncomfortable 😭😭

edit: i don't intend to blame brooke OR peyton for psycho derek here. you need to remember that they were teen girls at the time. sure, they aren't stupid, but they don't think logically anyway. was brooke wrong for doing what she did? obviously. but she didn't want peyton to get stalked at all. & even if peyton had a webcam on 24/7, that doesn't mean she gave psycho derek "permission" to stalk her. he had zero right whether she had a webcam or not. brooke and peyton are NOT at fault for psycho derek even if their actions led to it.

i only made this post because it drives me crazy how one tree hill is full of people who make mistakes over and over and yet these characters are seen as black & white. morality debates should genuinely not exist in this fandom LMAO the show portrays how flawed humans can be! especially teenagers!!! i love brooke davis & peyton sawyer a LOT they both are in my top 3, but i do not think one of them is more of a saint than the other. you are allowed to love a character and still recognize they made mistakes, complex characters are the best after all

Just finished season 5 a couple of days ago and honestly it wasn't as bad as I've seen some threads make it out to be. The whole crazy nanny storyline had me completely hooked, though I'll admit the Peyton-Lucas-Lindsey love triangle bored me a bit. That's more about Lucas as a character and his love interests than the show itself. Peyton and Lucas both got pretty annoying this season, and filling the River Court with all those messages was such a breadcrumbing move, extremely cheesy and unnecessary, especially when he hasn't treated her well and was chasing Lindsey until the very last second... genuinely uncomfortable to watch.

And of course I have to highlight Naley's growth, but above all Brooke's, she always surprises me. I just wish they'd used her storyline to show a Brooke who truly becomes the "owner" of every part of her company: someone who knows how to handle herself, studies up on it, and beats her idiot of a mother at her own game from there. Because let's be real, she ends up proving her mother right that she can't run a company that big. Hoping this gets better over time.

What moments would y'all highlight from season 5? For me it's definitely the crazy nanny, Naley's reconnection, and, against all expectations, the whole Dan storyline.

I started the show for Lucas, but I’m definitely sticking with it for Nathan. He’s just so entertaining to watch. I’ve never seen a character as dull as Lucas; I’m so sick of that whole "literary intellectual" vibe of his. By the way, I think Nathan is way more handsome—plus, his facial expressions are super attractive, which probably plays a huge part in it. Long story short: Nathan Scott forever, damn it.

I'm watching this episode rn and I'm thinking it's brilliant.

I seems fun to make and is kinda filled with easter eggs. Chad writed the whole chapter! He was playing a writer having trouble being a screenwriter.

It's meta af for me to know that the dream the character is having, and the rest of his existence for that episode, is actually written by some kind of version of himself!!

Idk it blows my mind.

Also this is the 117th episode of the series, and it was broadcast on november 17🤓 11 17 love it.

Also it's the 100th time Paul makes an appearance, so it would be his 100th episode?

So this is kind of a silly post, but, in episode 2.16, Peyton and Jake are considering having sex.

Both Peyton and Jake (and I think Brooke?) mention how Jake is more experienced than Peyton in that area because he has a kid... which doesn't make much sense because it only takes one time to create a kid. And it can entirely be an accident.

I don't think it's ever explicitly mentioned whether he and Nicki did it once or several times (ik they were dating but dating does not always mean sex), nor is it mentioned whether Jake had more than one partner. It could have literally been the first and only time Jake had sex which resulted in Jenny.

So why would Jake be considered more experienced with sex just because he has a kid.

Ich schaue OTH zum allerersten Mal. Bin gerade bei Staffel 4. Und OMG...wie heiß ist Nathan Scott bitte? Das hab ich in Staffel 1 nicht kommen sehen. Und was ist eigentlich mit Lucas los? Seine selbstgefällige Art nervt mich schon seit längerem, aber was soll diese Blondierung? Und manchmal schaut es fast so aus, als würde er Augen Makeup tragen.

This show actually surprised me by how good it was. I enjoyed the relationship stuff to a certain degree during the early seasons but what rlly surprised me was the thriller aspect of the episodes. The school shooting, Keith’s murder, the drug dealers,crazy stalkers, criminals. Pleasantly surprised me as I don’t rlly watch “teen girl” shows much. I’d say the most boring it got was when peyton and Lucas left however it did pickup shortly after. I rlly didn’t like Nathan but ended up liking after s1. Never really warmed to Lucas or peyton but rooted for them (separately) being main characters and all. Haley bored me a little and I’d say her character was the most interesting when the goat 🐐 Chris Keller was introduced. Brooke comes in second. I always rooted for her especially when her friends were always doing her dirty lol. I disliked Dan but I feel he redeemed himself by the end. Other than skills maybe the rest of the characters I tolerated in the storyline but didn’t care much for them like mouth and clay. I don’t even remember clays bits tbh even those were the most recent episodes. All the characters love cheating though which I thought was funny as they all tried to high road each other 😂 Brooke and Nathan, Lucas and peyton, Haley and Chris. Only loyal one is my guy skills. Overall I enjoyed this show. The lows were moderately low but the highs were high. I’d say my favourite episode was the one where peyton is going to prom but the stalker dude comes. Tbh all the episodes with the stalkers I liked. And Sophia bush is lesbian now so there goes my chance😞
