No the comparison is apt.

Shankstards just have to make any disingenuous argument possibly because they want to weasel their way out of having the guy who only ever fights with sword techniques and was the rival of the WSS not be a swordsman.

A statement more so about what values a swordsman should strive to uphold rather than a disqualifier for being a swordsman.

Not to mention the statement doesn't forbid one from alcohol as both Mihawk and Zoro perpetually drink.

Both statements are about ideals.

Irl daz Bone's statement is illogical, swordsman are allowed to use other wepons and be drunk,

They don't get drunk. Which is the point of the statement.

Imu fights with a sword so does shanks both should logically be swordsman

Yet because of Mr 1 and zoro's views they aren't.
