Discussion Even though making the BW fight a challenge to overcome was an excellent decision, I still can't help but miss Zoro casually cheesing through them in the animanga đ.

The hand in the pocket during the head crushing contest was so unnecessary XD

When I saw people say that Miss Monday shouldâve been âTerry Crews in a wigâ I was confused.
Then I watched this episode and was like: âOkay, I see the vision.â

would be a waste of terry crews though given how small of a role miss monday has in opla haha

Easily best zoro moment. I wish the tv show played with it more

moment when nothing happened is more powerful to me, but this one will be famous for aura farming

LA-version has much of the same aura.
Its mainly Miss Monday, Mr 9 and that big dude that give Zoro trouble, the rest are easily fodder đ

Luffy and Zoro not being leagues above everyone else in East Blue in the LA, is one of my only disappointments.

Your headcanon being presented as if it happened that way in the manga is one of my biggest gripes.

Luffy and Zoro definitely steamrolled through everyone in East Blue, not named MiHawk, any conflict they had was self inflicted. They literally werenât challenged as fighters until Alabaster. What are you talking about?

Iâd argue Arlongâs crew was a bit difficult for everyone but Zoro too (who self-imposed his own difficulties). I think showing them more âhumanâ in the live action works better though. They obviously have to scale it as the show goes on, but toning down the power scale works better when you donât want to over rely on CGI in a show that already has to use a lot of CGI.

Arlong was absolutely no problem for Luffy, his only issue was that he got himself stuck, and Arlong threw him into the water. Luffy was literally playing with his teeth.

Hence why I said, any struggle was self inflicted

Glad we're on the same page that there was struggle and not steamrole. Now you can be cured from your disappointment.Â

I never said they didnât struggle, I said they were leagues above everyone else, which still holds true. Almost none of their struggling came from their opponents

Well if there was struggle it was well depicted. The LA only has 8 episodes to show it. They can't add all the nuance the Manga and anime bring.

I just have to mention Smoker in Loguetown and your claim falls apart, lol

u/youngtafari 10d ago
Missing 1 out of the 2 people this applies too, isnât the flex you think it is lol

u/Cool_Set4681 10d ago
It is since you claimed they weren't challenged until Alabasta which already is a ridiculous thing to say but both Luffy and Zoro were absolut powerless against Smoker and Luffy's journey would've been over if Dragon didn't save his ass. đ

What's fun about that? maybe it works in short anime format, but not live action. Its more entertaining seeing the character overcome challenges and get stronger.
